What Have You Bought Lately? (CHA - Club Ho's Anonymous)

got a great deal on 8 ndmc plus 4's and picked up a bag of 'golf ribs' (you don't eat them..haha) for your grips.

they are long thin strips of plastic and you put them on the shaft, put the grip tape over them, and then put the grips on.

i took a long time to do it because I wanted to make sure the ribs were precise based on the square clubface.

first time with ndmc plus 4's and they are TREMENDOUS!  got them on clearance at GG for 4.98 each... 

 

also picked up a grip remover tool (long straight bar with a handle) from Amazon.  figured with all of this regripping and without a compressor I should save my grips I'm removing instead of slicing them off.  I was a bit skeptical but you get the bar started between the shaft and grip, pour some solvent in (I used paint thinner) move it around a bit.. a little more solvent and BAM the grip comes right off.  I was shocked how easy it was.

Had to have a matching bag for the irons. They were out of the blue/White ones as the 2018 bags will be out next month. But i didn't want to wait.

My bag "should" be pretty well set.  I for the life of me don't NEED anything for the foreseeable future.  But it will be hard to resist a combo set of MP18 down the road and seeing the AP3's in person at the Team Titeist event next month will be a test of will power as well..ha

 

Funny you mention wedges, those are the longest running clubs in my bag right now, going back to May of 2016, closely followed by the 816 H1 23 degree and Scotty Cameron X7M a couple weeks later.  Those have all been staples in the improvement I've made in my game over the last 15 months going from a 26 to 18.

Think those ribs are also called "reminders" .. to remind you the spot where to position your fingers and hand on the grip.

 

Good find on that grip tool! Smart way to test out different grips on a club but still be able to re-used them.

Got my wife much-needed (didn't realize how worn the old ones were until I cleaned her clubs yesterday!) new grips .. ended up with the Winn DriTac Ladies in Black/Pink.

 

Nice looking and feeling grip, think it will work well for her, and .. she likes pink. You know - it's all about the accessories coordinating with the outfits ;-)

 

You just had to buy matching grips.. Hell I had to buy clubs because she wanted, and Needed new ones.. But She had to have Green..  Whatever, She's happy I get to golf.. LOL it works out..

Decided to finally head to my local golf shop to get a new (to me) hybrid. They had a decent Titleist 913H 17* that, after trading in an old club, came out to be $28

Face is in great condition which is all I need and I was striping them at the range so a good find IMO

I have short fingers and the build up on the bottom hand was too much. Way to many week right shots during the round that have never been an issue in my game.

Thanks Rick. I played a sweet set of becu Ping Eye 2's from 2005-2007. Great clubs but I never cared for the Ping Microtaper shafts. I took a break from golf and after not playing for 4 years decided to sell them. Got a pretty penny for them too.

 

 

I used to play with a guy years ago that had a set of ISI's and after hitting a set a few weeks ago I remembered how good they were, so I found a set cheap on eBay. Got them all cleaned up with some new paintfill with some new Pure Grips going on later this week.

 

They are really beautiful clubs in an ugly sort of way, almost like functional modern art.
