This is what is a load of s***. $469 for a set of clubs that were released 9 months ago that cost around $1200. They're all thieving bastards.

Not as bad as Lawyers 😕

I have a set of Sunfish headcovers that are murdered out completely. All black, even the numbers! Those white stripes are a little too flashy, Mister!

Recently picked up a Palm glove from GG, as it was discounted and I burn through gloves frequently. Through 2 rounds and a range session, it has kept its snugness and the palm hasn’t started showing the usual wear spot yet. Small sample, but I’m impressed. Plus the cabretta leather is baby soft and very comfortable. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

Agreed, I got the old glory one, after about a dozen rounds still feels and looks great, so i went back and got the green shamrock design while they are still 25% off

First off, I would like to say "Thank You" to @StrokerAce for his information so far on the Callaway Paradym driver, and his recent input on the Callaway Apex UW.

Secondly, another "Thank You" to @Ben Joest for his posting about his recent Callaway fairway woods and the double trade-in values.

Had a few hours yesterday afternoon to do some golf things, although it even was SWMBO's birthday, our plans for that were later and she was happy to tag along.

Went to Carl's Golfland here in Michigan, not too far from me, to really use the range, as they have grass areas and Trackman.

I have been playing a "new to me" set of Mizuno Pro 223 irons, and really wanted to get the distances dialed in, as I sometimes struggled when facing the in between club distances.

Also, I did want to demo the Callaway Apex UW, as I tend to hit hybrids left, and my 5 wood flight is sometimes too low to hold a green, or the distance I get from it makes it a poor choice.

So, I took along my old set of Mizuno JPX921 Forged irons, knowing about the double trade-value, and had an idea of what they should offer if I made any purchases.

Long story short, they valued my old irons at $600.00, meaning that I would have $1200.00 if doubled. Disclaimer, from them is Callaway limited trade value, so that $1200.00 would become $1000.00 credit.

I absolutely loved the Callaway Apex UW in 19 degrees. Higher flight, very consistent distance, and a straight ball flight, although I could get it to draw or fade, but never hook or slice wildly.

Tried the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver, used a 10.5 with the Project X Hzrdus Black shaft. For me, it was too low spinning, and not a good fit. It would be more along the lines of a Titleist TSR4 more than a TSR3.

Swapped that out of a "standard" Paradym head in 9 degrees, and much better results, both launch, spin, and distance. Bad thing, they did not have that drive set-up in stock, and I would want it much shorter than the standard Callaway length of 45.75" but they would honor the trade value if I wanted, and order the club in.

So, adding up the pricing of the Callaway Apex UW, and the Paradym driver, I was still below the $1000.00 trade threshold, so I added a Vokey SM8 wedge (58.08 M grind) that was on clearance, and that meant for $90.72 out of pocket, I left the old irons and walked out with (2) new clubs, and will pick up the driver in about 10 days.

I honestly do not think I could have sold the old iron set for what they gave me, and now I have a spare driver, and a couple new clubs in the everyday bag.

That's a great deal! That Paradym driver has gotten great reviews and I'm glad they let you order the head/shaft combo that's right for you. I'll be anxious to hear how the UW works out for you and you can't go wrong with a Vokey.

Recently switched out my 19 degree hybrid for a 19 degree version of this Callaway UW and put into play yesterday.

I hit that thing so pure. I was greenside in 2 on a par 5 on one hole, 80 yards away on a tight par 4 - it's laser straight and I can hit off the tee and the deck.

If you're like me and hook your hybrids this should be on your short list for consideration. This club is amazing.

Ended up trading the G425 for a Rogue Max LS, I’m excited to hit some balls with it. This means only 3 wood off the tee until it comes in, which will be interesting and probably lead to better scores 😂

Wow! Nice work. (I promise everyone that this is not my burner acct. 😆)
Glad to hear you found a couple of clubs that work for you and that my comments were of some value.

I think you're really going to enjoy that UW and so far the Paradym is performing well. My distance is the same/more and my misses are smaller. Fairways and greens!

Ordered a case of Sugar Pure balls after seeing the testing opportunity. Was surprised to see it arrived less than 24hrs after ordering, guess they are using Amazon for shipping.

I like the minimalist packaging and look, been doing some short chipping practice in the backyard.

I really love my Tour Edge E722 irons, so I’m going to try a very cheap experiment.

This morning I ordered the set matching E722 51* and 56* wedges with the same KBS graphite shaft I have in my irons. It’s kind of a no lose situation, since they were $49 each, and with a 15% off coupon Tour Edge had sent me, the total came to $85 for both.

I get to try them for 30 days and can ship them back free for a full refund if i don’t like them, but I would probably try putting the shafts in two Cleveland wedges rather than do that.

Just scored a couple of these... well hopefully! I pray my order doesn't get cancelled. First time I've ever been a part of a limited drop item, but these were too good to pass up on 🔥

What is this "HQ"?  I've seen it mentioned before, is it a brick and mortar somewhere, or like a cloud somewhere...

It is the MGS headquarters in Yorktown Va.; yes brick and mortar...actually metal with a brick façade.   It is where the most wanted testing is conducted and where I spend time after work.

https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/mygolfspy-research-facility-tour/

That article is about the current facility; they will be moving into a new HQ in a few months that is significantly larger than the current one.

They kept pushing the release date back, it was supposed to be last week sometime. I’m glad they picked today though, I was duty free and spamming refresh on my computer 😂😂

I absolutely love my allbirds! Definitely the most comfortable sneaker I've every owned. Not sure how good they are for running but for casual wear they're hard to beat.

Exec Summary: I went to a Mizuno demo day and bought custom fit JPX923 Hot Metal Pro 4-GW irons, and T22 54.12 and 58.04 to the same specs. I probably won’t have them until mid July at the earliest. [Recoil 95 F3s, +½” length, 2º upright, Lamkin midsize]

Background: I replace clubs about every 5-7 years or so. I have played forged irons exclusively since I took up golf 57 years ago, blades then CB. It pains me to admit it, but at 69 yo I could probably use more help, so these are the first cast irons I’ve ever bought. I will admit they felt pretty good side by side with the 923 forged irons - and cast club’s definitely felt awful many years ago. I still fire at pins and stop the ball reasonably well on approach shots, so I was worried about spin and trajectory numbers going in, but the HMPs seem OK. Fingers crossed as I do not want to start the land short and release approach (yet) like most of the guys I play with.

... Since they don't make these Biom 3's anymore and I found a great deal for an additional 30% off at the Ecco Outlet, I picked up two pair. The desert is tough on golf shoes so if I can get 2 year out of each pair rotating with my gray, black and brown Ecco Bioms I will be a happy golfer.

I picked up a Callaway Big Bertha B23 5 Wood today as Callaway had a 100% trade-in deal.  I ended up paying $17.00 after the trade. 😍

Just purchased two things,

Callaway Golf 2022 Chrome Soft X LS Golf Balls, Shamrock

SuperStroke Traxion Pistol GT™ 2.0 Golf Putter Grip,...

Both will be here in the morning early, grip will be on with the first 10 minutes of arrival ready for play tomorrow, the Callaway balls are something new for myself but good reviews about them and they have Shamrocks on them, Irish people cannot resist a good Shamrock.

I’ll have a quick review after I’ve tested both tomorrow.

Update, Arrived:

IMG_0016.jpeg

Not sure why this didn’t add on last time but love the grip, feels very comfortable in my hands.
The balls are awesome, fly like a missile, lands soft on the greens, spin when needed, don’t scuff up badly.
Would recommend Spy people give them a go if they haven’t already.

Bought a Mizuno 921 Hotmetal 7iron head which has a strong 6iron loft of 29deg 🤔 I'm thinking of using a 6iron shaft and would kindly ask those who know would they post there thoughts about that plz?

If I can get off topic can anyone tell me how to turn off the "toolbar" it takes up a lot of space at the bottom of the page on my iphone and tablet, thanks..

The tool bar is part of the mobile package and cannot be removed. It is placed higher due to the ad space below. You can try a different theme instead (bottom of any page or go to FAQ) as not all themes have this enabled.

Also Loft for the 7 iron is just part of the story. Be interested to see on a LM to what the difference between your two 7 irons is.
