     PRESS RELEASE

PING introduces G410 LST driver;

lower spin, higher MOI

PHOENIX (May 20, 2019): PING announced the expansion of its G410 driver family today with the release of the G410 LST, a high-MOI driver engineered to produce low, stable spin with the shot-shaping control provided by the company’s innovative movable-weight technology.

The multi-material driver is available for pre-order and custom fitting at authorized PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“With the tremendous success of the G410 Plus and SFT drivers introduced earlier this year, we’re pleased to add the highly anticipated G410 LST model to the line-up in time for the summer golf season,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “It took us a little longer than planned but that was only because our first iteration didn’t out-perform the G400 LST. We re-worked the design to meet our performance improvement standards and are excited to get the G410 LST driver into golfer’s hands.”

“The head size is slightly smaller than the Plus model and the CG is positioned to reduce spin several hundred rpm while still providing extremely high forgiveness,” Solheim added. “The combination of lower spin and more stability plus the ability to dial in the shot shape with our movable-weight technology greatly expands the types of golfers who can benefit from the technology of the G410 LST driver. As always, we encourage golfers to undergo a thorough custom fitting with a trained PING Fitting Specialist to determine which G410 driver model best fits their game.”

Low, stable spin

The G410 LST shares the movable-weight technology introduced in the G410 Plus model. The CG position is slightly forward of the G410 Plus in all three positions (Draw, Neutral, Fade), leading to spin reduction of approximately 200 to 400 rpm, depending on shaft choice and a golfer’s launch conditions. Each weight position shifts the CG location by 1/10" in each direction from neutral, influencing left or right shot direction approximately 10 yards (20 yards of correction between Draw and Fade settings).

“The addition of the movable-weight technology in our low-spin driver option allows us to fit a wider range of golfers,” said Solheim. “A perfect example is a high-swing-speed player who battles a miss to the right. In that case, the combination of placing the weight in the draw position and the lower spin greatly improves dispersion and leads to increased ball speed for more distance.”

Patented Dragonfly Technology on the inside creates an ultra-thin crown structure, saving weight, which is moved to the extreme boundary of the clubhead to increase the MOI by 3% (compared to the G400 LST) for added ball speed and forgiveness.

Fast and powerful shape

At 450cc, the G410 LST driver features a more rounded, pear-shaped design and combines with more efficient Turbulator Technology for advanced aerodynamics, leading to increased clubhead speed. Its “Tour Square” face sits slightly open and the score-line pattern frames the impact area to aid in alignment. The creased crown design provides a clean and powerful look at address.

Forged, T9S+ face

The unique forging and patented heat-treatment process of the T9S+ face powers a thinner, hotter impact area that is precision machined to elevate ball speed across the entire face for more flexing and faster ball speeds. The forged face and the internal geometry of the head are instrumental in producing the powerful feel and sound of the driver.

Trajectory Tuning 2.0

The patented lightweight and aerodynamic adjustable hosel expands from five to eight settings, offering loft (0, +1, +1.5, -1, -1.5⁰) and lie adjustments (including up to 3 flatter than standard) to optimize ball flight.

“The expansion of the loft options is a tremendous benefit for all golfers, and the flatter lie angles add another layer of opportunity for expert club fitters to really fine-tune a golfer’s driver,” said Solheim.

Multiple shaft options

Four high-performance shaft options are available at no upcharge and ensure a shaft-fitting solution to match the launch conditions of all golfers. The PING Tour 65 & 75 (lower launch, low spin, stable feel) and the counter-balanced PING Alta CB Red 55 (high-launching, lightweight) are developed in house by PING engineers. For popular custom after-market options, golfers can choose the Project X EvenFlow Black 75 (low launch, low spin) and Mitsubishi Tensei CK Orange 60 (mid launch angle, low spin).

I’m interested to see how this compares to the g400. Knowing ping it will be an improvement otherwise it would have been released with the rest of the lineup.

The lack of weighting on the perimeter kept me from buying the G400 LST.  This is going to be tough not to pick up as I just bought the Titleist earlier this year.  I'm not usually a frequent equipment changer but I do like what Ping is doing.

This model in this series is going to be BIG! The G410 line is legit. So glad PING to hear that continued to test and make sure this particular head was "better" than the G400 LST it intends to replace. I'm sure that wait will have been worth it.

Man the crown on the G410 looks so freakin' clean. The slightly more compact 450cc is a plus in my book, too. I'm a sucker for the matte black look, and if the F9 wasn't working for me I'd definitely be giving one of these a look!

I can't wait to give this a hit!  I love that Ping didn't just release a driver just to release a driver.  They wanted to wait until they knew it was better than the G400 LST.  I'm curious to see if the perimeter weighting moves the ball as much as the G410 Plus.

I'm SO looking forward to hitting this driver!! Loved the G400 LST, and was smoking the G410 - albeit with a little bit too much spin, so this could be the club for me! Either that or get fitted for the Epic Flash SZ.

It’s not like it is crushing the 400 statistically, it’s just slightly better. Slightly better than one of the best ever. It’s not going to make current owner rush out and buy one. But the new buyer will reap all the new improvement

100% correct! The 400 was amazing when I hit it at demo day. And like you said if someone picks up the 410 looking to switch this year after having something in the bag for a few this will be hard to put down.

Lol I will say though that I’m not sure if the LST is for me. I’ve tried the 410+ and I get low 2k spin already. Still won’t stop me from trying it out though!

Ha...I just bought a F9 and already thinking about picking this up...and I don't even have the F9 in hand yet!

last month we had the following demo day schedule.

Tuesday Cobra

Wed-TMAG and Callaway

Thursday PING

We had one guy come out Tuesday, age 71 smoothest swing I've seen on anyone of about any age, registering a constant 89 to 90 mph swing and 210 to 215 distance with the F9.    He ordered it.

Same guy came back on Wed and hit the Epic Flash almost identicall numbers maybe a tad faster ball speed and a couple yards, but decided he was gtting close to that with the Cobra so he didn't buy.

Came back a third day on Thursday and hit the 410 identical to the first two days, 90 mph swing 210 to 215 with the 410.   He decided just about all drivers are created equal for him.    I told him a large part of that was his swing.

So hit the G410 3w just as solid and about to about 185 to 190, and rolled the Sigma Wolverine putter just as smoothly as his driver., so he ended up buying those two.

I told him about MGS and that he would fit right in! 😎

I was at my go-to range the other day and just out of curiosity looked in the Ping bin and saw a G410 3 wood sitting there for demo.  I took it out and was instantly impressed.  Even though the face is fairly shallow, I was banging it, shaping it, and loving it.  I put it in my bag that same day.  So if the driver line is anything like that of the 3 wood series, I'm going to have to take a look, even though I just put a G400 in my bag last year.

Oh they are, believe me. During MGS testing of the PING G410 SFT driver (recently posted my stage-II), I snagged up a new G410 SFT 7w and it just performs beautifully-stock shaft and all. If I could, I'd most likely replace my aged G-Series 3w and my fairly new G400 5w all with G410 clubs. They are THAT good. Indeed you will most likely be as impressed with the 410 driver. Have fun giving them a whirl!

you are so right, and what's funny is Adam and Tony had this exact conversation back in November.  It's available if you search GolfSpy Podcast.  They predicted 2019 would be the year of the driver, and to prove their point, I've put in play four different ones this year and will have a 5th one on the way in a few weeks 🤪

Yep, that's No 5.  The 410 will stay as the gamer.  Bit I'm really inriqued by the design and target golfer of this TS1.   It'll be a full review.   You know. I'm doing it for the people 😎

you are so right, and what's funny is Adam and Tony had this exact conversation back in November.  It's available if you search GolfSpy Podcast.  They predicted 2019 would be the year of the driver, and to prove their point, I've put in play four different ones this year and will have a 5th one on the way in a few weeks 🤪

Is there a cure for this sickness

Looks good, but the actual improvement is so small that one who holds the g400 lst would be dumb to move to the 410. But it may entice someone moving from something outside of the already fantastic G400 line.

I could still see some folks going to the 410 if the moveable weight makes a difference for them even if they already have the 400. Seems like those who would benefit from the draw setting would most likely to convert.

Possibly... But I'd bet that benefit would be minimal at best. These new releases, while fun and shiny... Lack true innovation that does exactly what it's made to seem... Or else we'd be hitting it 700 yards down the middle... As these claims have gotten bigger and bigger for years now. Marketing at it's best.

For the most part year to year the improvement one will see if properly fit each time will be minimal especially for those that make relatively good and consistent contact near the center. As face technology improves and weight design changes those who miss laterally will tend to see the bigger improvements.

This is why I tend to lean ping and titleist in because they do things based on engineering and improvements and not geared toward marketing some revolutionary material and increased distance. If the other brands cane out and said increased distance on mishits then I’d be more inclined to entertain their pitches for improvements but would still need to test to see if I benefit.

I’ve played two rounds with a G400 LST recently, and I can’t imagine gaining anything from the 410 version, at least not distance. Maybe the moveable weight and flat setting could help me fine tune, but I’ve been hitting bombs with the one I have.

I sent a message to Ping via Instagram and they said the 410 has higher MOI, and then the flat settings, and the moveable weight. The improvement I might see would be related to forgiveness, they said.
