Can I put a modern adjustable cobra adapter into a PING Rapture v1?

Hello everyone,

I have an old PING Rapture diver with an R shaft. A absolutely love this thing. I also have a modern Cobra Radspeed with a Fujikura Ventus Blue S Velocore shaft.

Now I want to use the Fujikura shaft for both club heads. So I thought maybe I can put the Cobra adapter part into the PING Rapture clubhead to be able to change clubheads on the same (Fujikura) shaft.

Is this possible? Any help and is appreciated.

The V1 Rapture is a bonded driver head. If you wish to use a different shaft you have to pull the current shaft and install a new one. With your situation, you will have to pull the cobra adapter before installing the Ventus shaft. Switching back and forth will require pulling a shaft with a shaft puller and epoxying the next one in. 
 

Short answer is no for your purposes. The cobra adapter can not be put into the ping head

Adapters are proprietary to their respective OEM, meaning a Cobra won't fit in a Ping, Callaway, etc. There is a universal head adapter, but I believe that is only for fitting purposes and can't be used for play. Club builders please correct me if I am wrong about the universal adapter.

I would suggest that you look for a used Ventus shaft and have it installed in your PING Rapture diver. With a quick search, I found one on e-bay for $99. You probably could get it a little cheaper, but would have to take to tip off. Just a thought.

Be careful when searching for ventus shafts on the secondary market. TaylorMade and Tour edge have made for shafts.

Ventus velocore mentioned by the op is a completely different shaft than the TaylorMade version. The velocore won’t be had for $99 anywhere.

The description in the link mentions it’s a non velocore

I game the All-Fit adapter on my drivers/shafts. The shaft adapter portion is universal and then there is a collar that is needed for each OEM. So for example, I but a Titleist and a Callaway collar (one each) and then I can use my shaft with the All-Fit adapter in each.
