Morning everyone. Getting ready for my morning round at 10:30 with some tasty Java. Can’t believe what I’m reading about Scottie. Absolutely crazy. Never imagined him to be another entitled snob but driving on the median to get around a police blockade? What an idiot. Now the bigger question. Will he get any special treatment and be allowed to tee off today?

Good Friday Morning Spies! 

A cloudy Central Florida morning, but a warm 72 degrees.  Supposed to be cloudy all day.  No golf today, Ranger duties, but may try to get in some chipping & putting (Hopefully). 

@Michael.Sandoval33 just read about the Scheffler incident. Kind of Bizarre.  Hmm, did the field intentionally have him arrested so they have a chance this weekend? Or is Greg Norman behind this  ? Made for good reading while drinking 2nd cup of espresso.

Had gotten hit with a little bout of allergy onslaught plus maybe a touch of a seasonal cold, but feel like it's clearing out .. yay!

Gotta get to the course to continue my prep for the Kingsmill trip!!

Good morning MGS Nation! Well, Mother Nature is at it again here in Absurdistan: another dreary start to the day. Overcast, rainy, foggy and cool: good thing Earl Grey and his dollop of honey are knocking it back! The pool is finally full! Once I get everything balanced as far as chemicals, the crab feasts will begin!
No great plans for today, will go home at lunch and after work and roll some putts indoors due to Mother Nature's fickleness. Hopefully this means great looking and conditioned courses all summer long! I have tee times set up for Saturday and Sunday, but alas, Mother Nature seems to have other ideas for that as well... 
I hope everyone has a great day and that golf figures into your plans! Hit 'em straight MGS Nation!

I have a feeling there are very few if any people on Tour who aren't entitled snobs. Just goes with the territory, I think. But waking up to see that on my phone, I'm like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

However I can empathize with him. Six years ago I got hauled off in handcuffs too. Nothing came of it, but it made for three miserable days  and screwed up my entire life for several months. The chain of events that brought me to North Carolina began in handcuffs, put it that way.

As I often do, listened to PGA Tour Radio on the way to work this morning. They said it's still raining at Valhalla and tee times may be pushed back further. They also cited a clause from the Rules of Golf that would cover the tournament committee if it decides to let Scottie tee off at a different time due to this incident. But we shall see.

Yeah I agree.  I don't feel he feels he is entitled.  All players and media were being directed to drive on the median to get around the traffic.  Do I think he should have stopped, yes.  All volunteers wear those yellow vests weekly.  The cops were wearing them too.  Just a misunderstanding on both sides.  No entitlement.  That is my belief.

I was just able to screen shot this before the charges disappeared from the screen. From this, it appears something more than just "disregarding traffic signals" occurred here. Hopefully the actual truth will come out.

A good Friday morning to you all.  What an interesting start to the day and the PGA Championship.  Almost choked on my espresso when I read the news.  I'm sure the tour will love the pictures of Scottie in his orange jumpsuit. Will he even make his tee time?  Wow. 

Other than that, taking my irons into TXG (Club Champion Canada) to be re shafted as well as loft and lies adjusted.

The last three are misdemeanors but I would bet assault of an officer would be a felony charge.

Well well... my weekend plans for golf is at a halt!  Mother nature has better plans than I do I suppose,  as she definitely decided she needed a vacation, and left the wet weather on auto-pilot.

Am I reading thay correctly that a player has a handicap over 60 in the first tee time?  Good for them for getting into the game and in a tournament to play!  Hopefully not a sandbagger!!!

The maximum 'cap in WHS is 54, which that person is listed with. Course handicap of 60, I guess?

Did you take the time to read the article or just look at the headline and mug shot? Because he tried to enter the course, which from the sounds of things multiple players had already done, and the officer decided he didn't like it and arrested him. I have always and will always support our officers, but this sounds like a major overreach and overuse of power.

This Scottie news is nuts.  It sounds to me like a bad situation, a misunderstanding, and possibly an amped up officer and golfer both.

Was supposed to be at Valhalla today, but the rain dampened those plans.  Likely no golf for me this weekend.  I also had to bow out of a scramble for Monday.  My golf world is in shambles!

I wish you all great days and sunny, dry weekends.  Will that work?

The Athletic is reporting that Scottie is on the grounds at Valhalla now. Will he be ready to tee off in 45 minutes? Their guess is that that is unlikely. But as PGATR reported, the Rules of Golf allow the tournament committee to make exceptions for unusual circumstances, which this certainly is.

Following is cut and paste from the Rules of Golf at the USGA site:

Exception 3 – Committee Decides that Exceptional Circumstances Prevented Player from Starting on Time: There is no breach of this Rule and no penalty.
