The Good Morning Thread

Good morning, y'all!

Looks to be a bit of a hit-or-miss day weather wise here in the Middle of the Mitten.  Weather Channel shows storms falling apart/heading South while regional TV says scattered thunderstorms.  We'll see but I'm hoping to get at least nine holes in.

Sunday morning shopping done so time to fire up the coffee pot and spend some time on the porch with the dog (aka She Who Must Hunt -- never had a Lab with a prey drive as strong as hers).

Morning spies!  On duty... 2 more days of GC work, then 2 duty days midweek, then off for a week in the NC/TN mountains riding my moto-sickle for our reunion trip, for the 20th year!

Hoping to squeeze at least 9 holes in between now and then.

 

Still debating if i should bring some golf gear with me to find some place to play.  Nearest courses are 2 hours away.

Morning All,

This wonderful Sunday it is warm. Like really warm when you have to do command PT. No golf today as I am working which makes me pretty sad. And I go into work all next week but the rest of the people get Friday off...I really should have thought about scheduling a school on my weeks I have a Friday off. Got my new Driver head in, got to wait to hit it. May go to Golf Galaxy after work today, may curb my desire to go and putt with the L.A.B. DF 3. It's pretty difficult deciding to get a new putter or not. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day.

Big early morning storms may delay some much needed golf.

Free trackman session at big box golf store on Monday so i got that going for me (which is nice)

Good morning MGSpies from a quiet house on this Sunday not so early in WNY as yesterday was so busy, today required a sleeping in.  Golf was good with Veteran friends and a good time was had by all - decided which chipper to put in the bag but it needs lots of practice now to make it the valuable contributor to the strength of my game but on-course use yesterday looks promising, just need to fine tune the muscles to find the magic   Today will be returning son to his apartment as the main event, tomorrow will be a return to Stafford CC but you have to wait until tomorrow for the rest of that teaser.  Hope golf is a part of your day!

Well, the storm of the century turned out to be a bit of underwhelming. I’m not complaining at all. Just happy we’re dry inside.

@GolfSpy_SHARK Great pics of your holiday! It’s been a long time since I visited the NC coast. Beautiful place.

I have a "Series Pass". All 30 teams have to play in all 30 ball parks this year so my pass allows us to see every other team in baseball. This last week was the Braves and last night was the Blue Jays. But, because of that we go to the games on Tuesday and Friday nights.

Good morning spies and happy Sunday! Crazy storm came through early AM and the start of the second day of the invitational has been delayed. We are going up and noon for lunch and then it’ll be revealed how today will be played out. Bummed we can’t follow regular schedule, but there should hopefully be golf on the agenda yet. Gonna be HOT all day, hopefully the course dries up enough to allow the event to continue as I played really well yesterday and want to see if I can keep it rolling!

Woke up this morning and it was a little warm upstairs, thermostat was reading 76 (warm for that time of day).  Start getting ready for the day and increased to 78, came home from church and 80.  Call in to the HVAC guy to come look at it…ugh!

Been up since about 3am California time watching The Scottish Open. Some really good golf being played there today. My sister is coming up from San Diego to visit for the day, little beach time sounds good to me

Today is a day of relaxation after yesterday's road rally... Might even get some time alone in the shop on a few projects as it will be too hot for me to engage in any golf activities.

There has been mention of a movie this afternoon, so we'll see if that becomes a reality...

Good morning spies! Cooling down here today. Only 108 for the high and one of the weather sites claims we have a 40% chance of thunderstorms this evening. Boy could we use the rain. 

I went out to the practice area to work in pitches from 60 yards in and closer yesterday. That worked very well. I will most likely head out this afternoon and do my weekend zip around in the heat.  Hootie and the Blowfish were in Phoenix last night. Good excited crowd watching them play so they played for 2 hours. It was a great show.

 A beautiful good morning on this lovely Sunday.  Huskies have been walked before it gets too hot.  A little range time and then a visit and dinner with my mom later today.

I'm posting from a hotel adjacent to Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport. Why am I not somewhere over the North Atlantic at this moment? British Airways cancelled our flight two hours before scheduled departure and sent us all over here to spend the night while they rebook the entire plane, and I think it was full. They got me on a flight to Charlotte leaving at 12:15 pm London time Monday; I'm supposed to get back to the Casa around 7:30. Had to retrieve my golf clubs, tote them and my suitcase through Terminal 5, ride two different trains, and then through Terminal 4 to the hotel. Not sure I didn't walk more today than playing 18 holes at Brora yesterday.

Golf note: Couldn't watch the Scottish Open today. It was only shown on subscription TV here and the hotel doesn't subscribe. But I am about to watch the Euro soccer final which is on two networks.

Luggage note. I bought a bottle of whisky to take home, and put it in my golf travel case because the suitcase was completely stuffed. When I got the case to the hotel and opened it, thinking I could really use a shot right now... no whisky. Whether it was confiscated by security or just plain stolen, I don't know. Next time I'll put it in my carryon and shift more clothes to the golf case.

That sucks about the whisky!  Sorry about the delay too! We had an 8 hour delay there a few years ago, it got pushed back to 17 hours, so we took the free room then hopped on the tube and spent the day at a castle then the white cliffs. Had a nice afternoon tea experience while there.

Good afternoon!  Managed to get 9 holes in before skies decided to make us stop.  My battle against the dreaded double bogey went well until the last hole -- pushed tee shot meant a penalty drop.  Unfortunately the 3-putts have returned -- hit two par 3s in reg only to three-jack my way to a bogey.  Parred the other par 3 from the right rough.  Go figure.  Also, managed to hit 2/3 fairways with the Terra Forza Green shaft -- two very nice ones (214 and 235) but the "let's hit a high fade" one found the trees and brought the average down to 206+ for the day.

As an old golf partner always used to say, "It's an ancient and honorable game.  Keep smiling!"

Could’ve been a lot worse…blown capacitor.  Ended up signing up for the yearly maintenance plan which brought the price down some.  A little over $300, which I’ll take at this point!

As you mentioned it could have been a lot worse, but still sucks to happen right after a vacation.

As Rob mentioned, getting them out on a Sunday more times than not adds to the expense. For what you paid, it is reasonable.

I am not disappointed at all!  I am usually reluctant to call on weekends, but decided it was needed.  Called around 10:45, they needed up with a cancellation and they showed up at noon…was done by 12:15!

It was some quick money, but well worth it…and definitely needed!

Good morning all, didn’t get to post yesterday as the Boss failed to tell me her wanting “to go out for the day” actually meant she’d decided we were going camping for the weekend

Start of 7 duty days for me today so not sure if I’ll get any golf in but hoping I’ll find the time. 
@ILMgolfnut sorry to hear about your delay. Hope the rest of the trip home goes smoother.

Good morning everyone! 

I'm just chilling in the car on a warm, muggy Monday morning. We got a little bit of rain yesterday and it did a number to the humidity and I feel like there's going to be some sweating going on at work. 

It was a good weekend with some golf on Friday, getting to run around with the wife, and some yardwork. Not to mention, I'm in a bit of a reading phase and I've been enjoying catching up on some book series I've needed to read.

The next few weeks of member testing could break the forum. I will not give out any specifics as is customary, but instead what I would like all of you to do to help us is follow us on socials, share the posts we have and start talking to your friends and family about getting involved. 

We still have opportunities lined up well into October now, but these next few weeks are absolute bangers. We are so thankful to all the companies involved. So let's support them by showing our appreciation when these get released!

One more day to go then golf it is on Wednesday, can't wait been itching to get out but life been getting in the way.

MGS got some breaking news coming in the near future, just can't wait for that to come center stage.

Another hot one today but going to cool off by midweek.
