FRY DAY !!

Wife is headed to Nantucket for the weekend; kid comes back from Greece late Saturday night.... guess I'll be going to the golf store to get one of those reverse taper GP putter grips and off to the range for a bit.

Round booked for Saturday afternoon... hoping the weather cooperates.

A bit of a lull in the sports schedule so I should probably finish up the yardwork I've been putting off.

Funny thing is, I think my favorite is their (relatively) inexpensive crossbow scope I have on my Excalibur.  The way it set up POA/POI based on a "speed" dial for your arrow speed works amazing and makes precision from a tree stand much more repeatable.

And, yeah, the lifetime warranty doesn't suck.

I have their “low end” Diamondback binoculars and don’t see how I’d need anything else unless I was going out west and glassing in the mountains for Elk. Which….someday

After reading the comments on the site yesterday about an easy swing rather than trying to really hit the ball I deliberately slowed down my swing today and what a difference! Yeh I was losing a little bit of distance but it just meant that I was hitting an extra club into greens at times. That being said the irons were flying a lot better too with a slower swing so the effect was negligible really. Just need to make sure I stick with the slower swing moving forward as the improvement in ball striking is fantastic

If you're gonna do any amount of glassing out west, don't skimp on the binoculars.  You spend a lot more time looking than you do shooting........

Good morning everyone..

Looks like a "practice with a purpose" day for me today. 

I will go through all my practice sessions I have developed over the past 8 years with all my clubs except the driver and 3 wood as the range is irons only today.

Then after my practice I head to my daughters to start a weekend celebration with my 8 year old grandson.

Pizza, sleep over, then a wonderful classic movie "Godzilla and Kong" I can hardly wait ( sarcasm) 

I enjoy seeing my little guy through a 65 year old lease, (oh to be 8 again) he is a great kid so there is that...

I hope all the spy's that are challenged with medical issues feel better, and try and find some time to enjoy the weekend...

No coffee, no water, no food, get to shower with this nasty soap that kind of burns off the first layer or so of skin, and no you don't use it there. All in preparation for my date with the doctor and his scalpel later this morning. 

But it could mean I am golfing in a week or so. For now, I am going to be happy with pain-free walks in the heat of the sunny weekend days. Supposed to reach near 100 on Sunday!

Good morning Spies and Happy Friday.  Weekend is almost here and I may actually get to hit a golf ball in normal weather this weekend.  For the first time this spring it won't be freezing with 30 mph winds.  Now to just get through one more work day and relaxation can begin.

Good morning! Heading out shortly to go play 27 today and 27 tomorrow with 6 buddies for a mini-golf trip up in the Dubuque area. Opening up today with 9 at Fillmore, then 18 at the Meadows. Playing 18 and 9 at Lacoma in East Dubuque tomorrow morning. Should be an awesome time, even with the high being 52 tomorrow with 25 mph winds the entire duration. Have a great day everyone - go get you some and make it great!

Happy Friday! Today my coach assigned a 5 mile run. Hopefully the weather will remain cooperative. I have not run that distance in over 35 years. After finishing my second cuppa I’ll stretch and hit the road. Looking forward to it. Not much on tap otherwise.

Good morning! I almost forgot to post in the forum this morning! Woke up a little later than usual, had a busy start to the morning, and now that the morning has slowed down, I recognized that I forgot to post. Anyways, today looks like a gorgeous day here in Iowa. High 50s with sunny skies. Similar weather this weekend which means multiple chances to golf. We have a 4 day weekend as well, so I have golf scheduled for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Can't wait to get out and play soon. 

For everyone who gets out and plays today or this weekend, I hope the scores are low and the vibes are high! Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Good morning Spies! My one patient for today has already arrived. After that, I change into golf garb, drive two hours south and tee it up with @Tom the Golf Nut. Looking forward to the round and meeting my first fellow Spy!

Morning after on my first Fit For Golf workout is not too bad, although I was a little bit stiff overnight. The workout I've been doing was frankly a little tougher than FFG, although FFG counters with three sets to the one I was doing.

Good morning! A lot to do at work today. I don't know why people always wait to request information from us until Fridays. It really makes for a stressful end to the week. On a positive note, the sun is out and the rain from the downpour all night is drying up quickly. I may be able to get a round in this weekend if I'm able to finish things for work today.

@rkj427 - With retirement nearing, how are you holding up? It hit my F-I-L pretty hard for a couple of weeks when he retired. Thankfully, he has a small farm and it turned to harvest season and he snapped out of the lull pretty quickly and has had a pep in his step ever since!

@CFreddie - Happy Anniversary! Enjoy the quiet! I have two kids yelling at each other at the top of their lungs right now. I can't tell if they're singing or happy or mad. 

@GolfSpy_KFT - Have fun at Vortex HQ! 

@tdc1 - I have no wind cutoff. If I have the opportunity to play, I'm going to take it. I will adjust plans for other weather (rain, hail, lightning), but not for wind.

Good morning Spies and TGIF!

Should be a pretty low-key day with no plans on the agenda. Weather is looking decent with temps reaching the high 50s with some sun. Tomorrow morning looking a bit chilly for my golf round, but I'll just be happy to get out there.

Was able to catch a bit of the RBC Heritage and the Chevron Championship yesterday. Nelly finished birdie-birdie on last two holes to shoot a solid -4 for her first round. She has gone from +550 odds to win the tournament before it started to +210 odds now (she's 3 back from the leader!)

My issue is that the overhead garage door opener unit is hanging right in the middle, dangerously close to my swing path. If I'd put the net on the other side of the garage, it wouldn't be an issue, but at this point rearranging the setup is not an option. I've clipped the opener a couple of times on my follow through; no real damage (yet). I did kind of angle the net a little bit to get out of the danger zone. Hope that solves the problem. Because I don't own the Casa, I didn't want to hang a projector from the ceiling, so went with Chromecast from my phone to a 43" TV instead.

Good morning, fellow golfers,

I was able to take a day off from work yesterday and play 18 holes with my daughter at Sherman Hills Golf Course. I shot a +12. 

The exciting part about it was bombing my drives. I made a small change based on something I watched on YouTube by Danny Maude (keeping the elbows in), and it seemed to work. I was consistently over 260 and even had a drive of 294.

Of course, playing from the reds was just outdriving me on many of the holes. So, she is grounded for the next 2 weeks LOL

I also played with the Bridgestone RXS mindset. I will post my full review with videos, but it is a great ball!

Morning everyone, hope all that are feeling down get some much needed relief soon! I’m watching a little RBC Heritage this morning. I woke up to find out (from my wife, a huge Swiftie) that Taylor Swift released a new album last night so I’m sure that’s all I’ll hear at the house and in the car for a good month or two haha! Excited that the NBA playoffs are getting rolling and ready to make it to a game or two in the coming weeks! Hope everyone has a great Friday and gets some golf into the weekend plans!

Good morning, Spies. TGIFF!!

It's been a long strange week. Well, it's just felt like that I guess.

We're hoping to get the last base cabinet for the garage tomorrow, so we should have them all in and done by the end of the weekend. Just some countertops, pulls, and bench left to complete the redo. I need to reach out to my carpenter friend about the bench, now that I think about it.

Golf lesson tomorrow (followed by some range time), last one of my package. Not sure what I'll do after that, since lessons are REALLY pricey these days. I may look to go the https://cogornogolf.com/ route, or maybe https://app.swingtweaks.com/, or something similar to continue to have eyes on at a better value proposition. If you have any experience with online lessons, please feel free to message me about it. I'd love to find something that works at a much better price point than my local pro.

Weather is looking better to get some golf in next week. I'm hoping the rain stops and the temps at least are in the upper 60's to low 70's going forward. I just don't want to go to my fittings in 2 weeks having only played 1 round and a couple lessons. I guess this is the bad part of fittings in Spring (darn May birthday). Regardless, I'll do the fittings, make any buying decisions based on the fittings, and then likely go back in the fall for a follow-up fitting with what I have to see if any tweaks need to be made. I'll look to do fittings/follow-ups every Spring/Fall going forward with David at Fairways & Greens (assuming it's a good experience to start with) to establish that fitter/golfer relationship which I feel is a good thing to have in this sport.

Well, I suppose I should go do some work.
