I recently purchased  a used Z 220 in 10.5º. Can anyone explain the adapter settings on their provided chart? In the Standard setting does the 1 designate that it is 1º closed?

1 degree represents Loft up or down. There will be a certain degree of lie change as well.

If it has the same loft sleeve as the ST-Z 230 that I have then this is pretty handy:

So if you start at Standard and go to one clock to +1 then that adds 1.125* of loft and closes the face angle -1.5* and increases the lie angle slightly (more upright). Both of those things *should* encourage a draw but those changes could throw off your delivery. I would play around with it. I love the adjustability that Mizuno offers.

I have to agree with @vandyland while I’ve grown fond of the 2 cog system from the likes of callaway and titleist, Mizuno’s adapter has one of the more in depth charts out there on adjustments. The setting can really change how the club performs. Check out some of the posts from the Mizuno long game testing thread. Most of us played around with a lot of the settings and documented it so that might help you out.

@vandyland Thanks for that explanation. That's exactly what I was hoping to understand. But the Standard setting for the Z 220 starts at "1' instead of "0" for the 230. But I, at least, now understand that one is closing the face with the negative values.

Changes by the month. 🙂
