For anyone interested, I shared my first experience of the Darkspeed drivers here (thought I'd share on the 'official' Darkspeed post/thread for anyone searching the forum):

I had the LTDx special black (whatever they called it), but when was looking for new shaft.  So during fitting, I tried Aerojet and was 10 yards longer with tighter dispersion vs. LTDx with both using the new shaft.  Of course, I upgraded to the Aerojet.  Curious if anyone has tried this vs. Aerojet and what their results were.

I just got a new AeroJet LS in December but I'm afraid to compare it to the DarkSpeed out of fear it might cost me a few hundred dollars after the comparison is done. LOL

That was my fear moving from the LTDx to the Aerojet.  But 10 yards and tighter dispersion was worth it….if only the wife knew what my outlay has been on clubs.  I do sell on BST across here and GolfWRX so the pain usually isn’t as much.

Cobra killed it in the looks department this year!  My last 2 drivers have been Cobras and I could absolutely see a Darkspeed in my bag at some point in the near future.

Just traded my Callaway AI Smoke TD 8* for an 8* Darkspeed LS head.  This starts my attempt to try everything new this year lol.

Cobra wins best looking driver AND headcover this year, hands down. Was such a good call going to the matte black finish to carbon fiber fade crown. Same as the King Tec Hybrid and looks SO. DAMN. GOOD.

While I have liked all the others, I am a big time sucker for Cobra drivers and these are the top top of my list to try this season!

 

Super interesting how in natural light it looks almost like a Charcoal Grey. I think that color is far better than just black in my opinion!

I hit the Darkspeed for about 30 minutes at Golf Galaxy last week, followed by 30 minutes with the Ai Smoke, with a couple of different shafts for each. The Smoke was better/straighter for me, but your mileage may vary. Both look great though!

Love the head cover…cover mine with a frog and generally stuff the stock headcover in a container, but this is pretty enough to make it in the bag!

I have a Cobra and use it when I need a more forgiving driver. It's the AeroJet Max. It isn't as long as my Ping 410 LST, but it is way more forgiving. I am VERY interested in Cobra's new lineup. I will be trying them soon.

Damnit, you done pushed me over the edge. Booked an appointment in March to compare the Aerospeed head to head with the DarkSpeed. Why March you ask? Because now I have to work some extra hours at the bar to afford this non essential purchase.

Absolutely love the look of the Darkspeed driver line up. I am a sucker for an all black driver and Cobra knocked it out of the park with this one. I can't wait to see how the performance stacks up to the rest of the 2024 field!

Very nice! I loved the look of the Darkspeed drivers when I tested them. The LS was the best for me too. No worse on dispersion than the X, but a little longer. However it wasn't really sufficiently better performing than I was hitting my Rogue LS to justify upgrading.  Having now been to GG fittings for the Cobra, Callaway and Taylormade offerings, if I was set on upgrading, the Cobra would have a great chance of going in my bag. Although I would first want a proper fitting with Ping drivers first, as the Max10K had great potential (needed to try a couple of alternate shafts and settings).

Still gaming the LtDx LS, but I need to try this! My bag is all cobra woods, with the aforementioned driver and Aerojet 3 and 5 woods. I don’t need new clubs. I don’t need new clubs….

I absolutely love my Cobra woods!  I have the King SZ Driver and 3 Wood, RAD Speed 7 wood and a the F5 5 wood.  I keep looing at the new Dark Speed and it's an absolutely great looking Driver.   I need to give it a try.
