I had another better than average round today.  

I hit 71% of the fairways in regulation.  That's a little lower than my average and most misses were just feet from the fairways.  My performance Shot Scope drive distance was 178 yards (about 15 yards longer than the last 10 rounds).  I really like the added yardage I'm getting lately!

My fairways in regulation was also up at 17%.  That was due to a solid par 5 18th hole where I hit a decent drive, a solid three wood and a great 7 wood to the green (and two putt for par).  30 putts is a bit high for me, but there were some "unique" pin placements today.

The four up and downs were decent.  

My putting let me down lately.  Tee to green, I've been playing as well as I can.  On the green, I need to get more practice and get to a reasonable number of putts.  This week was likely the most consistent I've played for some time.  I just hope it keeps up.  

Heading North to rate The Club at Westin Hills Players Golf Course.  It will be good to get off the rock (Key West) and play a different course.  Temperatures in Miami will be low 50's on Thursday, which is about 8-10 degrees cooler than we see in Key West.  I guess I'll be bundled up!

Ouch today was hard. Cool, wet and wind gust up to 35 mph! Shots online were knocked off. Shots hit pure came up short. Shots hit nicely flew greens. Today was hard. My 81 was the low round out of 6 foursomes……. Sometimes a good game is relative to the conditions. Hit 10 of 14 fairways. However, only hit 9 greens and had 36 putts. Ouch!

I hit the driver only and it was fine. It was the shots into and around the greens that upended the round. I just agreed to play again tomorrow morning to get back on the horse!

Tomorrow is supposed to be a good day with less wind. I'm set to play at 2pm but it will depend how the wife feels. Daughter is almost back to normal but wife looks like she may have it.

I might swop out the shafts in the new sticks to the Hxrzd yellow and black shafts

Pretty great front 9, hit 6 of 7 fairways, played smart, putted well, made one terrible mistake in not clubbing up over water and the wind gobbled up my 9 iron, and it landed short of the green and back down a hill into water. Fun. I also decided to compound the error with a three-putts (only one on the front, 15 putts on the front).

But then the back 9 was a bit of a nightmare. Double, par, double, par, par, double, bogey, bogey, bogey. 

Fun! 

Anyway, awesome track that I'd never played before, got to play with @Syks7 and walk a beautiful course (and they didn't lie about the hills...)

Next time I'll be clubbing up a bunch, as lots of holes out there where you're in a bowl and can't feel the wind, but the minute the ball gets up in the air, it gets eaten up.

Friday was the first round in 2 weeks outside. It was wet and nasty. I shot 51-39. Saturday was a tournament that I skipped because it was even wetter and nastier. Today it was still wet and I didn’t start out too well. I made some long putts on the first 3 holes to make it a better start than I should have had. Overall, it was a mediocre front 9. 

Suddenly on the back I started hitting good shots. My only blemish was a 3 putt double because of a 3 putt from 5’ after hitting the hole from 30 yards with a wedge from the edge of the hazard. I played smart on 14, 15, and 16 and after I chili-dipped on 17, I holed out. On 18 I nearly holed out for an eagle but was happy with the tap-in birdie. Although the 2 would have netted me $80. 

However, this was my second or third round with the new irons and I really like them.

It is a fun course. Some blind shots got me. What was a well struck shot turned out bad a few times. Not knowing the course can hurt!

For sure!  And if you don't know that course there are plenty of blind shots!  9, 13,14,15 and I think one of the par 5's on the front have doglegs and there are a few you can cut corners but better be right on the money.
