Very Very Interesting to say the least! A swift departure from the UFO to more standard styling. I can see a lot more people embracing the more traditional shape and making the move to LAB, especially if it performs as well as the other LAB putters in inventory.

I'm pretty sure that's a broomstick (both the number of weights in the bottom as well as the indication that Adam Scott is testing it are the giveaways), but I'm quite certain the non-broomstick version would have less weights in the bottom, which is standard for all their designs. 

That being said, I LOVE it. At this point, it'd be hard-pressed to dispatch the DF3 from my cold dead hands, er "bag", but man I'd like to give it a roll or 12

I might have bought that instead of a DF3, but since it wasn't available when I bought and I am used to the DF3 now, I'm not switching. The gimme getter is nice, and all my golf buddies have all gotten their snarky remarks about my DF3's looks out, so I'm past that issue...

I hope i never see it in person at my local shop. I fear it'll roll too well and feel too good, and then I'll have to make a decision between better putting, or sleeping in my own bed.

Alright, I'll be that guy. I kinda hate it.

The one thing I love about L.A.B. from an aesthetic standpoint is the funk and weirdness. If I didn't love my SIK I'd probably have a big old pink DF2.1 in the bag right now. I get moving more into the mainstream and wanting to get it into more hands, but I don't want them to lose the wild innovation look to achieve it.

I'm with @Berg Ryman on this one. This one doesn't particularly do anything for me. If you are going to go weird, go all the way weird. This just feels like that guy that wants to be different for the sake of being different, but not standout as weird.

Fair play to be that guy, there's nothing wrong with being honest.

My first instinct and reaction was that it resembled a PXG.  Then I started looking for more and appreciated the detail, especially in the cavity.  Mainstream...definitely...it's also time since the momentum is really rolling.

I suspect that if the mallet makes it into the production lineup, the weird DF3 and Mezz.1 Max will remain.
Other companies, in fact, have models that look a bit like the Mezz anyway.

L.A.B. has already stuck their toes into the semi-conventional waters with the Link.1 blade.

I'm gonna be the odd one out.

I'm not a fan of it astecticly speaking. I have 2 currently but have owned the MEZZ.1 MAX and DF3. Is there a purpose to it other than to fill astectic taste? I love the lab tech obviously since I have 2 and am always a couple beers away from ordering a link1 I don't need. If there is a technical advantage I can get behind it. Purely for looks it's not my style which is to say a traditional D shaped center shafted mallet the market is saturated and that's great that the guys who love that look can get one with the lab tech now.

I would argue their goal (and I have 100% zero insight into L.A.B.'s thinking, btw, just thought I'd pontificate for a second) is to have a shape for every kind of golfer - you like big and weird and stable?  Try the 2.1.  Want weird but a little smaller? DF3's your ticket.  Want an Anser-style?  Link 1 all day!  Prefer a fang style?  Mezz/max are for you.  But there are a LOT of golfers who've been waiting for a D-shape ( @GolfSpy_BEN chief amongst them) as that's their preferred shape.  

So while I don't think there will be "a technical advantage" over the DF3 or Mezz Max, per se, if this is your preferred shape, they didn't really offer anything in this arena.

And also, no problem at all in it not appealing to you Everything's totally subjective, anyway, but my guess is for a whole bunch of golfers this is going to be another step towards getting a L.A.B. in their hands.  And that's not a bad thing, in my book

It does have the broom logo on it. OZ broom proto from what I can see.

I will say, as far as weird looking putters. This is the least weird one yet.  I don’t do mallets, but this one has some sort of look.  I don’t particularly like it, but it is saying something to me.  Reminds me of asteroids, or StarFox.

Definitely way more mass appeal to the look of it.   Its sexy to me, but the one knock for me is that I'm guessing it's an aluminum head (since it looks very Mez like).  Having experimented with the DF2.1 the one thing that kept me coming back to the Link was the feel.  On a totally subjective level, I prefer the steel head/face to the aluminum.

Briefly had that thought too then I remembered seeing some protypes hiding in the background of this video.  In the screencap on the right side or around  1:44 in the video.
