I am right at 12 years, never super serious, but the last few years I have been trying to improve and have seen some results!

I'd have to say over 25 years as I was 16 the first time I played in 1953.

 

Of course, I didn't play again until I was 26 and only until I was 29. I picked up the clubs at 51 and played until I was 63, took three years off due to surgeries and injuries and resumed again in 2005.

 

Seems like I didn't play 35 of the 57 years so maybe my answer should be 20-25?

I played High School golf for two years and then quit for a long time. I started up again after I was done with school and now have been playing for the last 7 years. So, nine years total.

I started in about Oct '03 according the h/c website, must be right because I played once and joined a club the next day. So coming up 7 years, of pain misery and the odd made putt.

Well I have always played a little here and there since I got my first clubs when I was 7 but I dont consider that playing. This will be my 5th season of being a serious golfer and actually taking the game serious.

How could you have played the longest when you weren't even born in 1954 when I first started playing?

 

Even though I didn't play at all for long stretches I'll bet I have more rounds under my belt than you. From '90 to '98 I probably averaged 100 rounds a year and thereafter 150 except for the three years I took off due to injuries.

 

I was also fortunate not to play in the 70s and have to wear the hideous outfits.

True...

I played nearly Every day from 1996 to 2000. That is 5 years in a row of 300+ rounds. I played a lot, and Still suck. I might play 15 rounds a year now. You've got me for total rounds, but you are a 3 'cap, and I struggle to break 80....... Illustrating my point.
