I got an email yesterday that I was accepted for Practice Round (4) tickets this next year. Yes, I bought them immediately. We'll be going on Tuesday. I'll surprise the 3 other guys that I normally travel with on golf outings. They've never been before. I've been once back in 2008. Pretty stoked.

 

Any of you other guys get in?

I have applied for the past 8 years and for 8 years the lottery has been unkind. Just curious if anyone knows how many applicants they usually have and what %age of those get picked. Anyone have any insight?

I keep applying and keep getting denied... I'll probably continue apply each year with the faintest of hopes that my application will be selected.  If that ever happens, I'd probably be unable to go.

The only plausible reason for being unable to go would be your own funeral. And even then, I think someone could sneak your ashes in. (Not the urn though, tight security...)

This is going to piss off some guys around here.

I went back in 2008 by way of a friend that had the tickets. I haven't applied since (to my recollection). However, I did apply this year after the tournament was over. So, I guess the luck of the draw was pretty lucky this year.

I did apply for Ryder Cup tickets though and got selected for practice rounds.  I'll be going on Tuesday and I'm pretty stoked for that.

One of the guys that play in our weekly game (avg 40-50 guys in game) won 2 Friday Round tix to the 2017 Masters....I immediately offered to double his cost of $200.  Rather, he put them on ebay for one day and got $2,000 for the two of them.....ugh!

I will post some this time. Not sure if MGS was around back in '08 but I wasn't a member then anyway. I do have a stack of photographs sitting on my desk. Sometimes when people come to my office they enjoy flipping through them. And I enjoy talking about them and the memories. Quite a place.
