Although these are on the way, I just can't stop thinking about them. The worst part is that they got to the shipping facility in Phoenix yesterday and are just sitting there until they can be delivered Monday.

Yeah I've posted about these in the Maltby thread but these buggers are in my dreams and my subconscious until they show up on my porch Monday. 😵‍💫

The these are the shafts/grips that I'll be building these with. These are in my possession.

Those C-Taper Lites are some of my favorite shafts I have ever been able to test. Hopefully they treat you excellent just as they have for me.

Been looking into more putters lately. It is one of the weaker points in my game at times and I would like some consistency. I have been looking at Bettinardi, specifically the INOVAI 6.0. Does anyone have experience with that one specifically or one similar?

Yeah I've always wanted a set of these. Every time I hit them at PGATSS they just seem to check all of the boxes. When Maltby released these satin pearl finish heads, my only thought was to pair them with the C-taper Lites. This is going to be one seriously good looking club when I'm done.

9 wood. Need something for longer, for me, Par 3s.

Could try gripping down + ¾ swinging a 7W but I'm not that great a ball striker .. especially fwy wood hitter .. to think I can be that reliable with it. Dunno just thinking at this point....

What's a "5i"? 🤪

haha I go from 7i (currently; this season may start to hit the 6i .. maybe) to 5h .. which for whatever reasons I have way more directional control problems with off the tee vs from fairway or rough .. go figure... 🤷‍♂️

New golf equipment for me will have to wait until I get my bowling winnings. Then I’ll be able see what I can get for golf equipment.

I did on a whim bought a 24 pack of Cut Golf Red golf balls. Looking forward to playing these golf balls and see if they actually stand up to their claims

A 50 degreee wedge. Haven’t zeroed in on which one just yet. I’ve played Vokey, MG3, and Callaway MD5 recently and had some success with Cleveland in the past. This time around I’m going to check out the DTC stuff, with enough due diligence on the front end perhaps I won’t have to revisit this subject on the back end…

Finished iron portion of my fitting and will be going with JPX923 HM, 6-GW.  Beyond excited, and once I receive them we will get my distances with the 6 and GW then fit for a 5h, maybe 4h and/or 7w, and wedges.  I could have purchased the HMs with a SW, but the GW is 48* and the SW is 54*.  I could still add that but 6* seems a bit wide, so am thinking 52* and 56* Mizuno S23’s but will decide after the irons arrive. As for the hybrid/woods, not sure what brand but really like Ping and Callaway - but will try all….have never hit Mizuno’s but will try them also.

I definitely hit my G425 7 wood better than the 425 5H, a miss hit with the wood is straighter and even though a mishit for me means I didnt flight the ball properly since its straight and fast it still runs a very long way instead of short and into the weeds like the Hybrid. I keep trying with the Hybrid and had a special order 4 utility DHY arrive from TaylorMade yesterday. Top end of my bag is a work in progress.

seriously contemplating switching back to my Cobra Forged Tec one lengths. They're really a cool looking club with DBM black face and AMT black shafts and black grips.

I shot my only even par round ever with them about a year ago and the Mizuno's were a vanity purchase. I've played good rounds with the mp54 but not sure they're any better than these.

besides - Bryson has me feeling good about the one length again! - GO B.A.D. !!  Win that 'ship!

I moved the other way does that count lol. I did get the 430 not 425 but tested the 425 and almost went with it but the H/L version of 430 swayed me. Side by side 2 pure strikes Callaway is going to beat the Ping but be honest with yourself about how often you get the sweet spot VS how often that Ping saves the day for you because when I hit it toey or off heel the Ping is a clear cut winner for me.

I am a tinkerer, so I am always looking at equipment to replace and improve on. My 3 wood and 5 iron might need replacing at some point (5 iron is super low lofted i.e. hard to hit at times), but nothing in the works yet.

Starting thinking about whether I should try a different wedge this year.  I use an old style of TM wedge for 52 and a Haywood 56. I had a Vokey wedge in a 56 before, but I am hoping these are a better fit for me.  A new Vokey to me is too pricey.

After thinking about whether I needed new wedges, I found some lightly used wedges that look great, so decided to grab them.

The Vokeys are the SM9 52 12F and one you can only find it in Asia, the Forged Vokey 56 10M.  The Forged 2021 Vokey is pretty sweet, so I just had to pick it up.  I didn’t realize that Vokeys are normally just cast and then milled.

I have the 699u 5i 24° and it's one of my favorite clubs. They start at $90 with a big selection of shafts and grips you can custom build what you want for an affordable price.

Previously I didn't carry stronger than a 6i as I struggled with consistency in longer irons. The 699u is chunky in the sole to inspire confidence but smallish in terms of blade size and top line so it's not a big divergence from my player distance irons.

It's a 170y fairway finder when my driver is acting up from the tee, a 160y carry iron that gaps perfect above my 6i, a great option for a layup under a treeline, and even a 140-150y fairway bunker saver. Utility iron is the perfect description.

I noticed when I ditched my sm4 and sm7 and tried an sm8 for the first time the newer ones are more wieldable on full swings.

With older vokeys it was always swing harder ball goes higher. It seems they changed the cg starting with sm8 so now I can manipulate distance with swing speed much easier.

I grabbed 4 SM8 wedges in the fall when they go on clearance and they are dynamite compared to other models. They are incredibly versatile, I did notice on full swings with my M grind, that starts to get tougher than the F grind I have on my other two though

I would love to try this iron out, but it is actually weaker than my 6 iron at the moment. I would have to go to the 4 or 3 in that set to reach the loft my 5 is at.

@TylorJudd That makes sense. I once upon a time had 48° f grind 52° f grind 58° k grind 64° 7° bounce

The 58 and 64 were dedicated to sand and flop shots respectively so I've probably never attempted a full swing with anything but the f grind.

my current GW is 50/8° @ 52/10° f grind and it's so versatile I ditched the 48° from the setup, playing 45° set PW- 52°-56° jaws FT

I hear their customer service is top notch if you call, I never needed to correspond. I noticed the 4i is out of stock, but I think they would take a 3i and bend it weak to 20-21° and shorten the length to blend into your set. 19.5° is standard loft on the 3i.
