I am taking my chances again on Delta tomorrow with a flight to SFO. If they manage to kill my new travel bag I give up.

I'm interested to see how your trip goes. I've looked into ShipSticks and since I don't fly a ton (only a few times a year) I'm thinking this may be the way to go. Just the lack of hassle is awesome sounding and really the cost seems to be exactly the same as checking the bag...

Went fine and the new bag held up fine. May have also helped that I was on Delta One and going out of the terminal through their concierge service.
