Message added by GolfSpy_APH,

Here’s your friendly playoff format reminder:

  • Playoffs run during the 3 weeks of the real life FedEx playoffs.
  • Top 35 teams get in.
  • Scores are cumulative with cuts after each event. Winner is the team that scores the most points over the playoff period.
  • Top 20 advance to round 2, top 10 advance to the championship.
  • Bonuses will be awarded based on your regular season finish using the real life Tour Championship numbers multiplied by 5

1: 50 (-10)
2: 40 (-8)
3: 35 (-7)
4: 30 (-6)
5: 25 (-5)
6-10: 20 (-4)
11-15: 15 (-3)
16-20: 10 (-2)
21-25: 5 (-1)
26-35: Good Luck

I’ve got a spreadsheet off to the side to track this since Fantrax isn’t set up for this style of playoffs. Will post updates after each round.

Yep. He’s won on Euro and PGA. Might as well just go join the new leagues starting up….no need to be used in Fantasy golf anymore…

He’s going to be a popular pickup for next week. 2 spots available on the waivers.

He was a two week play for me that might have turned into a season long spot on my roster. Picked him in a pick 'em league too!

Week 19: Palmetto Championship at Congree

Another week in the books. A field that was a bit weaker in strength of field, but some great excitement on a course I would love to go sometime. Another new winner this season on tour with South African Garrick Higgo taking home the title at -11 followed by a slew of guys at -10. Congrats to him and looking forward to his exciting future in the sport!

We have I believe a first time high scoring team of the week in @Golfermarcusleading the field by just over 12 points with 181.75. Vegas, Redman and Piercy were his leading players with 2 getting over 60 and Piercy with just over 40. Impressive performance considering only 3 made the cut. For the first time in several weeks that means we had no teams crack the 200 barrier, however it was to be expected with teams opting to hold onto player in the lead up to the US Open.

Our undefeated teams of the week are below.
Screenshot 2021-06-14 06.39.56.png

@revkev happy to see you get a undefeated week after our trade involving English.

@blackngold_blood Leads the way alone for the first time in a little while as well having gone 9-1 this week (take a guess at who he lost to hehe). However he is still 3 games clear, but for the first time we are seeing some real separation up top with only 3 teams within our 10 game bench mark. With bonus points, fewer weeks left each win is going to mean something and will help shape the overall playoff picture.
Screenshot 2021-06-14 06.43.56.png

Now that we have the top 15 picture sorted lets take a look at the mid field and cutline picture. Lots of solid teams and in a change from last week most all the teams that above the cut line are above .500 (last week we had a good few under). Several of these teams I have seen active on both waivers as well as trading trying to position themselves up to make the playoffs and make a dark horse run at the championship.

Screenshot 2021-06-14 06.47.35.png

This was a week where we would see a bit more movement on the overall standings with some teams not able to field a full team or opting to hold onto players for the US Open. It meant some of the bigger named teams would have struggled a bit and others who had either mid tier depth or room to pick up several players could make some jumps in the standings. I don't know if we have more weeks like this, but I know they can be tough and make for challenging decisions with how your roster is constructed.

This was also reflected in our League median at mearly 53.45.... I mean there are 8 players on the waivers who were available and got more. Easily our weakest of the season. This was largely lead by 8 teams which scored under 10 points, however most of these teams it was due to roster positioning and having depth to keep leading into this week and the rest of the season.

As expected we had a lot of good players available on the waiver wire, again this is no surprise with how this event is placed ahead of the US Open and the field which it had. However most of the players available were still rostered by at least 1 team and in the case of our winner Higgo 3! (good pick up @ChiefMikeOfficer, @Mtbryant01, @Jhigdon13)

Screenshot 2021-06-14 06.55.39.png

With 2 still being available how much will the hot hand go for? Seeing more being spent on waivers and budgets slowly dwindling down and that FABB being worth more and more as we close in on the end of the season.

With week 19 in the books now we can move on and look forward to the US Open. A favorite major for many and one at a course we all are likely somewhat familiar with (pretty sure Golfholics have 5 or more course vlogs there). With a deep field and most all the big names including Rahm officially being there it will be a great test and a fun event to watch and the return of Wolff!

Wish everyone the best of luck and thanks once again for following along.

Was able to finally stop the bleeding with a big pickup of Vegas. Had a huge trade offer but cant bring myself to part with Hovland. I swear that guy is going to win it big one of these weeks.

Alright friends, another Major week is here, and so is the updated sheet.

MGS Golf Fantasy trade chart V6

Higgo is not showing as FedEx ranked as of yet, but I would feel confident that with his finishing at the PGA and win this past weekend he will be inside the top 75.

I am on vacation this week, so I am sorry in advance for any slow responses on trade offers.

Happy trading and good luck to all this week.

Great review Jamie, also congrats on the new gig, @GolfSpy_APH has a great sound to it.

I could have done better, but 5-5 with one weekend player was not bad at all.

I got about 20 waivers for this week already, so fingers crossed.

He will be in a tie for 79th when they update it but they still have him listed as a non-member right now. He has 504 points, 500 from his victory yesterday and 4 from his 64th place finish at Kiawah. Interesting note, the golfer he will be tied with is Tyler McCumber who has needed 19 events to accumulate the same amount of points Higgo has in two events.

Nice write up APH

With time and rosters running short I’m looking to help a team on the edge by trading away two players in 30’s for a player in the 20’s.

It would need to be a multiple player trade if you wanted Xander or Rory in the mix.

Everything I'm reading says he is eligible for this year's playoffs now but for some reason the PGA Tour is being slow about updating the standings and moving him over from the non-member FedEx Standings. His points are updated correctly, he's just in the wrong list.

I believe it is just a formality but I’m guessing the pga tour hasn’t “officially” accepted his exempt status.

This article implies he actually needs to accept the exemption before he gets added to the FedEx Cup standings (so maybe it's him, maybe it's the Tour -- or each step might take a few days to get fully active). The points are there, but just not active yet.

I'm guessing it is a process that doesn't happen all too often so not surprised it is taking a little while to get there. Although something tells me Zalatoris winning would be done before he got off the green...

This article implies he actually needs to accept the exemption before he gets added to the FedEx Cup standings (so maybe it's him, maybe it's the Tour -- or each step might take a few days to get fully active).

I think the key is accepting the exemption.  I am sure there are some ramification and obligations if he accepts membership on the PGA tour.  We are assuming he will accept but he may not.

No idea the truth to this, but it has been reported (then denied by Bryson's agent) that he denied a pairing with Brooks. Would love to see them in a group together... and just waiting for someone to roster both players as well. A little odd that it hasn't happened yet!

I'm honestly glad they're not paired on a Thursday and Friday. I think manufacturing the pairing takes the animosity and steam out of the matchup. I want the next time they're paired together to be a Saturday or Sunday near the top of the leaderboard.
