I like the Mandalorian series. Who's been watching it?

It's a great series. Really like all the Star Wars spin offs.

I've been watching The Acolyte and don't quite understand all the hate it's getting online. I know it probably changes things in the old canon, but I never really read the books so am enjoying it.

The last few episodes have made me appreciate it more. There will be those that don't like potential plot holes and that, but as a standalone I think it is doing a good job and telling a good story.

Mayor Of Kingstown has been my go to recently though.

.... It's been over 10 years so I started watching Sherlock again on MAX. This series was the very first time I ever saw Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. I am a big Sherlock fan of both books and shows going back to Basil Rathbone and I think Cumberbatch is the quintessential Holmes and I was blown away by him in the first episode. Freeman is an excellent Watson as well. Well shot, written and acted with an amazing soundtrack and cinematography.

I've been one on those that has not enjoyed the show. I am a little more intrigued after the most recent episode. I think it would've been cooler/better if Osha lit up the red lightsaber after she put on the helmet. Sol and Mae might turn into a nice feel good story about forgiveness. My theory based on episode clues, Venestra(?) was the master who turned away the Stranger.

The breaking bad. All over again

... As much as I enjoyed Breaking Bad, I enjoyed Better Call Saul quite a bit more. I need to wait a few more years but am really looking forward to starting at the beginning again. The amazing cinematography is so unique and just in a class by itself (see below). I guest starred as an evil villain in a show Called Early Edition and the director didn't give me any direction for 3 days (fine by me) but in one scene I looked down while on the phone with Kyle Chandler and the director said "I lose your face in the dark when you look down, so just look up or whatever feels best to you".

... I was having dinner with him and we were alone so I asked why so little direction and so few takes and he said something that will always stick with me "No offense Sam but it's just TV. As long as I believe you in the scene and the DP (cameraman) has no issues, I get the shot and one more for safety and move on. Two takes is plenty and keeps us under budget".

... So when I see a show like Better Call Saul with shots I know need detailed set ups, multiple takes and most importantly do not drive the story but are there just for their art, I am so very impressed. Especially considering many (most?) don't even notice the shot and the cost is prohibitive.

I am leaning that way toward the Stranger's master, the scar looks like it might have been done with a whip. The next two episodes should be interesting.

Love this. I geeked on cinema back in my early college days and developed a big appreciation for camera work and directing while watching Hitchcock movies. I was always amazed at how long some of his takes would last compared to cinema today. Most takes seem to last less than 5 seconds before a cut happens. Some Hitchcock scenes can last over a minute before a cut happens. Serious appreciation for actors who can go that long in between takes knowing they can’t keep doing a 1-2 minute scene over and over.

Like @GolfSpy_APH I am on Mayor of Kingstown in addition to Presumed Innocent. Jeremy Renner is SO GOOD in Mayor of Kingstown, and it’s such a departure from his role in the MCU. I enjoy seeing actors portray roles that are so opposite for what they are largely known for.

Likewise, Jake Gyllenhaal has been great in his role in Presumed Innocent.

I’ve been watching, and so far somewhat let down, by the newest season of The Boys, but I am still giving it a chance.

... Video Game attention spans calls for 4 second edits. 🙄  Drives me crazy. Have you watched The Machinst? Excellent Hitchcock tribute film. And I am sure you have but just in case if you haven't seen it in awhile, the opening of Once Upon A Time In The West is a sight and sound masterpiece.

... Most every actors dream. Diane Lane was a sweet young girl in everything she was in. For one of my favorite films "Streets Of Fire" the lead was this all leather wearing Rock n Roll hard azz and she wanted to read for the role but Walter Hill the director/writer thought she wasn't right foe the part and wouldn't let her audition. So Diane got all dressed in leather, went to Walters house and stayed in character the whole time she was there. Next day her agent told her she had the part.

However all the star trek series and the star wars series, minus the cartoons series,  I do watch.

Last night I watched the new Beverly Hills Cop movie on Netflix.   Pretty dang good!

... Companies pay a pretty penny for those Product Placements in TV and Film. As an actor it is pretty annoying when a product rotates or isn't as visible and you have to do another take. They are basically little visual commercials but if you aren't interested in the product, you would never notice. Next time you see a laptop in a scene, just notice how that Apple Logo is so bright and prominent.

Oh absolutely!  It was huge in the 70s and 80s to gain film sponsor $$$$. My great uncle was a stunt double in quite a few 70s films and it was interesting hearing his stories about actors/actresses refusing to use certain product placements.

I always find it humorous when they cover the Apple logo with a sticker because they don’t have a deal to promote the product.

tWife and I have watched many great series.  Currently enjoy paying Apple+ Presumed Innocent which is a remake/variation? of the original Harrison Ford movie?

One that is really fun and intriguing on Netflix is King of Collectibles.  Very intriguing and had no idea the value of some of the collectibles.

Presumed innocent is pretty good. I’m really beginning to wonder if it’s going to end differently from the film. I like comparing the differences between Jyllenhal and Ford’s takes on the same character.

Tokyo Vice is pretty good. My wife and I catch ourselves asking, “Why am I watching this?”

And then the ending to each episode puts us at the edge of our seats.

Presumed innocent is pretty good. I’m really beginning to wonder if it’s going to end differently from the film. I like comparing the differences between Jyllenhal and Ford’s takes on the same character.

I think it does have a different ending.  My impression it will be……

Just watched all available episodes of Ted Lasso and I think it's one of the best comedy shows I've seen in a long time. I'm chomping at the bit for the new episode tomorrow night.

If I could choose two living people to have lunch with one would be Jason Sudekis, the other one randomly would be Dan Campbell head coach of the Detroit Lions. Those two guys just spew positivity and leadership.

As I sit here at 7:30 in the morning in Virginia holding my seventh month old and feeding my two-year-old, I stream Bluey more than anything in the world

Anyone watching House of the dragon?  I read the book about five years ago.  The book is really good.  The show is pretty good so far.  I was hoping they would have started with Aegon the conqueror instead of the Dance of the dragons.

im also looking forward to watching The Penguin with Colin Farrel starting in late September on HBO max.
