Haven’t updated this in a quick minute and wanted to document what’s in my bag and why. I am going to test a different wedge shaft soon but the head will stay the same. 
 

Driver:  Rogue ST 9 LAGP AXS Blue 6X

I have gamed a lot of different drivers and usually lean towards a titleist driver but this Callaway driver is special. What helps me most is the fact it is forgiving across the face and I hit substantially more fairways with this driver. The LAGP AXS Blue 6x is an awesome shaft, holds up to any swing and yet has great feel too. I am surprised this does not get more use on the forums. 

Fairway:  TSi2 16.5 Tensei Pro Blue 80TX

Love Titleist fairway woods. Have games 913, 915, TS and now TSi. Use it for at least one tee shot a round and potentially a 2^nd one depending on conditions. This club is one that is familiar due to having a heavy blue profile shaft I have played in previous versions of my fairway woods.

Driving Iron:  T200 3 Utility ADDI 105X 

This is a new driving iron. I will use this for one or two tee shots at my home course and most likely 2 times as 2^ndshots into par 5s. I have gamed different driving irons and what I am looking for is ability to hit them low off the tee and high if needed to hold a green.

Irons:  ZX5 4-7 ZX7 8-PW Modus 130X

I love the Srixon new Z series. I have gamed T100, 620 CBs, 921 Tours, etc but decided on having as much forgiveness as possible at the top end of the bag. I hit my 7 iron on average 185 yards and I figured the 5 series was a good cut off there as having extra help on mishits will only assist me in hitting more GIR. I enjoy the ZX7 in 8 iron down for slightly more spin when trying to score form 173ish and in. I have tried basically every heavy extra stiff iron shaft and settled on Modus 130x because it is very stable and still has the modus smooth feel. I find it is easy to hit them high and flight a shot if needed.

Wedges:  SM8 50.08, 54.12 TI S400 60.10 LAGP L Series 120 Wedge 

Vokeys have been a consistent factor in my bag and I have the SM8s right now with S400 in the 50 and 54 bent to 55 but am going to be switching them into Modus 125 wedge shafts to match the Modus feel a little better. What helped make my decision was trying the LAGP wedge shaft in the 60. This is now my favorite wedge and use it for every touch shot inside of 90 yards. It has great feel and produces consistent contact across the face. The only bummer is the wedge shaft is expensive, so I will keep it only in the 60 for now and try to Modus 125 wedge shaft in my other two wedges.

Putter:  PLD Prime Tyne 4 

Putting has turned from a weakness to a strength in the last few years. I have gamed typically a blade style putter with a plumbers neck in the past. I recently switched to the Ping PLD Prime Tyne putter and it has been very good thus far. I enjoy the fact it is a mallet but has some toe hang. I find I am able to start my ball on my intended line and get a consistent roll thus far with the putter in the 4 rounds. Beyond performance, this putter looks great with a blacked out theme and frames the ball extremely well. It is also very small compared to other mallets I have gamed and reminds me more of a blade but with some added forgiveness.

Will be interested to see how you like that shaft and 3 iron combo. Also how do you compare the 130x to the 125x or X100, if you have tried them?

So far so good with the 3 iron shaft. It’s the best graphite driving iron shaft I’ve tried and I’m able to flight it for lower tee shots or even hit a cut I to a par 5. Quickly becoming one of my favorites in the bag. 
 

 

I’ve played x100 and most other xstiff steel. I’d say the modus 130x is unique in the shaft feels very smooth yet stable with the extreme stiff butt section. I play a fade with my irons so I think this shaft lines up perfect and has more feel than an x100 for me. Also it launches higher than x100 but I find flighting it can be easy if you need a lower ball flight.

Well this is bad. In less than a month I mixed it up. So far I’m happy with the results. I have played one round and a nine hole round and my strokes gained approach with the new irons and top end of the bag. I love the 3 iron and figured I could use it as a tee club and potentially choke down and hit cuts with it if needed into long par 3s or par 5s. With me liking the 3 iron I figured why go to a 4 iron when I could get more versatility from a 4 hybrid. I can land them soft when needed or use it out of bad lies. I got a G410 hand me down from my dad and hooked it up with a ventus blue 10X, with the loft sleeve turned up to 23.5 and it’s been a great combo in the few rounds I’ve played with it. I use it or the 3 iron for the 3rd hole on my course and already hit 2 par 5s in 2 with the hybrid. Hopefully its not just a honeymoon period. I got too good of a deal to sell the Srixon irons and get the TCBs and I’m glad I made the switch. The turf interaction has been outstanding with the TCBs and I find the forgiveness to be very similar to the Zx7 or a t100 profile. My favorite addition is getting the set AW. I use it primarily for full shots or bump and runs. So far I find it is more forgiving than a sm8 and looks great behind the ball.
