The Good Morning Thread

Good morning everyone!!! Ended up working till 3 this morning so a bit tired but nothing coffee can’t fix. It looks absolutely gorgeous outside but very very windy. Going to get the garage and basement cleaned up today before work at 4. I hope everyone has a fantastic day and hits the course unlike me!

So no playing golf today -- one of the four kids of my closest friends from high school (way waaaay back ) .. to whom I've been "Uncle" all their lives .. is coming over later with her boyfriend to go golf club shopping (not as good as playing but not bad in itself)....

All the kids are into golf (and we've been communicating more as they're now into their 20s and I love it) but she still has a hand me down set I gave her several years ago made up of older clubs that used to be my wife's .. so she wants her own new goodies!

Her boyfriend promised her clubs for a birthday gift and I get to go along as equipment guru advisor

(.. and so hopefully I'm not posting in CHA later for _myself_ )...

Having the nickname of "Uncle" without the associated blood relation is one of the greatest honors one can receive.  Sure, it can be a touch confusing when kids start learning family trees... but that can get worked through.

I say this as someone affectionately known as "Uncle Poopie"

Lol I usually am the breakfast coordinator on golf trips so you came to the right guy! I wish I could add “NC trip breakfast officianado” to my repertoire but unfortunately I have made my mind up

This is great. I look forward to this with my best friend's 2 year old. I was teaching him to putt with a paper towel roll the other day. When I brought my new 5i to show my buddy, the little one was trying to yank it from my death grip. The club is 36 inches taller than him, but he was intent on trying to swing it. I kept a hold of it throughout and let him go through the motions with a foam ball. Told him when he gets older we have to get him his own junior clubs.

I was "Uncle Ritz" for about 4 months, but the kid's speech impediment is working itself out.

His father and I are a little bummed, we'll miss hearing him say "Yesh" when responding in the affirmative.

Happy Sunday everyone.  It is "Christmas Eve" for me.... tomorrow is Day 1 of Masters Week.  

I will be making a fresh batch of Pimento Cheese tonight (1 sandwich a day Mon-Wed... 2 sandwiches a day Thu-Sun). 

My favorite week of the year!!

Morning everyone! This is a day off from playing golf for me, however, I may get some practice in. Wife is getting ready for her 2 day member-member event so hopefully she decides to come to the range with me.

Just got an email that our course up north is opening on April 7th. Opening day forecast up north is typically 40's, windy and overcast. Weather here will be 80's, blue skies and winds in the mid teens.  Hmmmm   think I'll stay here for a while.

It is 11:30 here now, but I was up 4:40 to have breakfast coffee and get to work for 5:30. We have our Curling Club championships today and happens to be my team is also playing. Games started at 8:00 so had to have it all ready to go and perfect for game time, then play which we won on the last stone of the last end. Now a break till the finals at 2pm. 

Inbetween had to get everything ready to go for Red Rooster and their awesome test and all that has now been posted on social channels (check out our IG and Twitter if you haven't) as well as send off our newsletter for the test. 

Been great morning so far, now a break before work then final with coffee and a little forum time!

I like curling as a sport. never tried it but have a friend that is a judge, "I think that's what you call a rules official in curling".  It's an interesting sport to say the least.

One of my first jobs was as an undersized security guard at a bar. My main job was at 2am when the owner's son yelled "Sweepers!" me and 3 teenagers who looked like me ran out in purple t-shirts that read "staff" and swept the beer bottles into 1 corner as fast as we could while the bartenders counted the money.

I didn't get the reference until about 3 winter Olympics later.

Looks like a promising day. 2pm tee time at Lakewood CC. Golfnow discount riding 18 for $35 or so. This is the closest, or one of, around my house but it's been a while. Usually above the price I have budgeted, but I decided recent travels with 1 1/2-2 hrs round trip driving costs gas $, so paying about the same for the excursion as my recent Sundays.

Having gone to a dozen or so places up to an hour away, I now am excited to get back to a "home" course I've played a bunch of times and have a 6 min drive home afterwards, no Google machine for mapping. Google machine says 52° and 12-15 mph wind from 2-6. Hope it's not lying again.

It is a Good Morning

 

Woke up at 5:29 and was like CRAP "not what actually came out of my mouth" jumped out of bed, started getting dressed frantically  as I didn't get my clothes together as normal. I have an early delivery and already behind. Looked at the calendar to see where my game is. The odd thing was the calendar said "SUNDAY". My brain wasn't accepting that day as being correct. Literally took me 5 minutes to convince myself that it was actually Sunday. Went back to bed and woke up at 7:48.

Home course officially opened today.  Unfortunately it's also only 40° and walking only due to all the recent rain and snow.  Next weekend looks good though.  May have to sneak out for an early nine before the family Easter festivities.

Hello all! Late post for me today, was up early for church and running errands. Rest of the day will be prep for my painting project tomorrow! Range opening got delayed so no golf for me today that I can tell, hopefully soon though!

I did have some dunkies yesterday morning, our supervisor brought some donuts in yesterday as a token of appreciation for coming in yesterday. 

 

My grandma always said warshing machine too but we are in Wisconsin and all natives of the state!

You betcha!  Somewhat dependent on who you ask though. Parts of the state like to argue about what things are actually called lol. For example, bubbler or water fountain? Soda or Pop? All very important arguements

I used hear that all the time when I was at college in southwestern Ohio near the border of Indiana. I kept asking them to point out the “r” for me.

Yup, it was a real cramp.  I went to Salt Lake City on business and got in on Sunday with my Sales Manager.  We went out and got a 6 pack, I’m thinking the Mormons don’t even have Blue Laws but we do in CT!!!

That’s what I say in the Southwest, too! Seems like bubbler and soda are more eastside of the state
