Good morning!

Fireworks this evening for my little town. We will he heading down the road to the folks house to watch and have basically watched from the same spot for 30+ years. It's unique because we sit at the top of the hill above the point that they shoot them from. Pretty much explode just about eye level. 

Need to get some work stuff done this morning and then hoping to get to the range before the festivities.

Good morning! Last day of work this week for this guy. Been in the gym hard this week after taking last week off, and I hurt today! Debating taking a rest day or powering through and knocking out the third FFG workout for the week - I'll decide later as the day progresses. 18 holes scheduled for Friday morning with a bunch of friends, hopefully the weather holds off and we stay dry. Wishing everyone a productive Wednesday, go get some and make it great!

Good morning Spies! The good news is T-minus 29 hours before I leave for Scotland. The bad news is I got back my test score and it... didn't go well. I get one more chance in early October, but at least now I can be more focused in my studying. My work travel schedule is about to decrease which will help. There were too many days where I worked/drove 3-4 hours and was just too damn tired to study afterward.

Formulating a plan to combat jet lag for the trip. I woke up today around 5 a.m., which is better (10 a.m. UK time). I'll go to bed early tonight, get up at 3:30 or something tomorrow, and make sure I sleep on the plane tomorrow night. GF is going out of town with friends for the Fourth since I was leaving anyway, so I have to make sure the furbabies are fed before the Uber arrives at 11:10 tomorrow morning.

And this is what awaits me: Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club

I'll do some kind of workout today and then finish packing. It's 95% done anyway, just need to get all the golf stuff in the travel case.

@GolfSpy SAM I agree with you about 32 Degrees. Their shirts are okay, their shorts are better. Wearing a pair right now in fact.

The past couple of rounds haven't been what I've wanted, but I'm committed to having a good round today and staying positive throughout the round. A beautiful good morning to all on this fine Wednesday morning. Enjoying my morning espresso. Visiting my friends at TXG today.  I have setup a driver/woods fitting for my good friend who is visiting us for a few days and then out to dinner afterwards. Have a great day.

Good morning, everyone. Up early to hit the course with my son and brother in law. Second cup of java is almost done and the eggs and potatoes with a side of leftover pork from dinner last night really hit the spot.

Rain is supposed to be done for the day, or at least really close to it. Hoping the weather stays away tomorrow so all the brothers in law can get out on the course together for our yearly contest. Still waiting to hear how they plan to handicap me for our round. My last proposal was to play a shamble of sorts. They get to use the best drive of the 4 and the best second shot of the 4 and then they get to scramble amongst the three to finish out. I'll play my own ball all 18. Seems fair, lol. Happy hump day, and July 4th eve. Stay safe out there and hit em straight.

Good morning all!

Last day of work here for myself as well, but plenty packed into this week which has kept me busy. That continues today with a broken report, and some more reporting to kick off the fiscal year.

Looking forward to the 4 day weekend with a party going on tomorrow, making some pumpkin curry and a lemon cake to bring with us.

Probably will hit the lake one day, and the store for a new washer since ours has a bad bearing which apparently is so involved to fix even the repair person says just buy a new one. I think I am getting older though as this now drives me nuts why can't we design the washer to be easily repaired since the rest of the machine is just fine.

Good morning, Spies!! Happy first Friday!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm hoping very much that today and Friday will be nice and quiet with so many people out for the holiday. I'm not saying I'll be slacking off or anything, but I'm not saying I won't either.

Some rain inbound possibly tomorrow evening, Friday, and Saturday. Hopefully we do get some as we really need it. I'm getting that familiar "crunch, crunch" sound when walking on my grass like the pros get when walking on the greens on a Sunday after the PGA has killed the greens. But for now, I'll enjoy the sunshine of the morning and see how it goes.

League day today, game is feeling decent but need to get the driver back to proper form in order to start scoring better.

Good morning! Day before a holiday and I'm feeling it. Ready for the day off tomorrow, then working Friday and then family is coming to visit on Saturday. It should be a good 4th of July weekend!

Last night, I was able to regrip my Dr, FW metals, and hybrid with JMX STR8 Ultralite grips using the tape and solvent method. I previously used air and they ended up twisting and ultimately I was able to pull one off my Dr without much effort. Moral of the story is that I do not recommend using air to install JMX grips. I also used this as an opportunity to cut my driver down to 44.75" from 45.5". I'm looking forward to not needing to grip down on the Dr for a change.

No actual golf scheduled for me today, but I should be able to get in some time on the Exputt and maybe go back to the basics and work on my address and grip!

Good Morning all!!

Bit of a later start for me today, and for those keeping score i took the paper recycling out last night (no rain here) in anticipation of the pickup being much earlier than usual on a holiday eve .. which it was. Ha-hah!

Heading out for 9 later with my honey. I've had a few good range sessions and a decent showing at a Par 3 course the other day, so hopefully I can keep the golf ball moving in the right direction today

Good morning all!

As expected, torrential rains forced a cancellation of league play last night. Bummer as I was really looking forward to building on our week last week, but it'll just have to wait till next Tuesday! Today is my Friday as we are taking Friday off after the 4th tomorrow and then also took Monday off for a nice long holiday weekend. Won't be getting any golf in as we are going up to my in-laws cabin and have a pretty busy looking weekend, but hoping to play when we get home on Monday. Our member/guest tournament is next weekend, so I'd like to get as much practice time in on the course as possible next week to work out a few things with my irons.

I hope you like the shorter driver, it has definitely made a difference for me. I have several shafts in different lengths and right now my Ping has a 44" in it. I am carrying 2 drivers right now, I took out the mini so my son can try it. The Ping replaced my mini. The Paradym is 45" right now, but I am getting ready to build another shaft for it. Then I'll have 3 shafts for each driver in different lengths. I am also thinking about getting the Callaway mini. Also just ordered some star grips to play with them. Tired of cutting good grips off when I want to tinker with shafts.

Good morning everyone! 

It's a later start to the morning for me, but isn't that what vacation is for? I was up late last night putting my wife's new desk together after playing 18 at Bear Trace. I'm ecstatic after my round where I shot my best score in a year (102) on a difficult course and being able to successfully navigate several sand shots around the green. If my driver would have been halfway decent, I could have broken 100.

Happy birthday to @JohnSmalls, @ParFore74x, and @TK_! I hope you fellas have a great one.

I have some errands to run today, we're donating my wife's old desk to ReStore where we bought it and heading to Walmart to return some C clamps.

I've been gripping down 0.5-1" on my driver since the start of the season. Ever since it was brought up as part of the Qi10 test that I was following along with pretty closely. I've had good success with it and didn't hesitate trimming it down. 

I think you're bag is similar to a bag that Phil Mickelson had for a bit. He was carrying a 46" Dr and a 43.5" or 44" Dr. When he could bombs away he used the 46" to get an extra 10-20 yards and then he used the shorter Dr for most/tighter holes!

For me, my gapping is just about perfect between my Dr and 3W, so I can't imagine throwing another long club in the mix.

@Josh Parker ordered the Callaway mini and if you get it also, I would be interested in both of your experiences with it! Is there a thread set up for it yet?

There is a thread, I've been following it and @Josh Parker. He has been trying different shafts with it. Some others aren't liking it as much as the BRNR, but I have had more success with Callaway drivers than any other drivers save Ping so I think I will like it. I hit my Paradym off the deck well already so the Ping being in the bag hasn't affected my dropping the mini. I want my son to see if it works for him because he struggles with the driver. I want him to gain some confidence so he gets more enjoyment out of golf. He also has my 3 and 4 wood which I have replaced with two hybrids I have reshafted. Agreed my bag is similar to Lefty's, I recall him doing that as well. Right now my bag is really well suited for my home course. It's not a long course and I only use the longer driver on the back 9. I've had a great deal of success the last few rounds the way my set up is now. I just need to put it all together and score. Have a great day and happy birdie hunting!

I'm probably spending less on this trip than some of you spent to go to Kingsmill. Particularly @GolfSpy_APH. It can be done without breaking the bank. Hitting 'em straight... that's another story,

Below is a live image of the first tee from the club webcam. Where I should be in about 51 hours... Yes, the water is that close. It's called the Moray Firth, but it's basically the North Sea. And the view down the second fairway, featuring all those lovely yellow ball-eating gorse bushes.

When I can get to my computer I can find that thread on the mini. It may come.up by searching "mini" as well, prior to me getting to a computer. 

Currently, I don't have the driver in the bag and only the mini. I have a driver shaft on it at 44.75in. I also have it turned down to 12.5* from 13.5*.  It's giving me a great flight window and the distance has been consistent.

Good morning spies! No golf for the next 5 days as we are up at the trailer in the White Mountains of Arizona. It was 30, yes thirty, degrees cooler up here yesterday than at the house in Mesa. I have some puttering around to do, a little construction work, 4th of July celebrating, and kayaking on our plate. @cksurfdude You know, old retired guy stuff. Including sitting in a lawn chair, in the shade, with a book in my hands and letting the afternoon roll by. 

I will miss golfing though. With 4 sub 80 rounds out of my last 6 played I feel like my game is definitely coming into its own. But, that also means my handicap has dropped to a 9.9 (course handicap is a 5). It will make it more difficult to win some of my money back. I can live with that. Playing golf well is loads of fun!

Enjoy the trip to Scotland. Stay clear of the gorse, those spikes hurt if you put your hand in there!!!!

I used to live in Globe, by the Pinal mountain. My grandfather ranched Govt. Springs on the other side of the mountain that was years ago! It was always cooler on that mountain but Globe is also cooler than Mesa.
