2 rounds in 3 days for me Wow!

Score doesn't really reflect how well I thought I was playing. Pitching and chipping are usually a strong part of my game but today on a wet parkland course it let me down. On 14 (par 4) 70 yds short in 2 made triple. 15th similar story for a double. Also had 4 x 3 putts. But on the positive side it is another 18 holes on my comeback to fitness.

Wet day, cart paths only, casual water everywhere.  Course played much longer, so chipping and putting at a premium.  Surprisingly, the greens were still fairly quick, and rolled very well, which didn't hurt.  It's a nice place to play, just a shame that our visit came after a weekend of non-stop rain.

I love the Charleston area, so this weeks SIM round took us to Kiawah Island. Unfortunately, my driver found out I was trying out new drivers and gave me the proverbial f___ you.  Spent most of the round in the fescue and rough taking the scenic route scrambling all the way. A lovely bogey fest round and not one of my better efforts. Got my butt kicked by the course, but that’s golf on a beautiful challenging course.

Went out and played today anyways. Legs were dead after a heavy leg workout. That coupled with a sore back was a recipe for an off day. Just had nothing in the tank today. Only thing is I got it around in a very average round.

I hear you. I had that happen last week. Had a huge wind come in and 18 was straight downwind. Hard draw meets dead grass means ball go far!

This was a baby fade the kept drifting with the wind. Probably 15-20mph straight downwind. In about two months that same drive still goes 300-320ish but I’m hacking out of calf-high rough. Assuming I can even find it.

Today was not my day!  It happens.  The good news is that I don't make (or at least try to make) a living doing this.  I'd probably be "living in a van, down by the river" as Chris Farley used to say on SNL!  

I really didn't have ANY number that I was proud about today!

I hit under two-thirds of my fairways (down from normal 77% or so).  I hit my normal greens in regulation (only 11%) but only one (on my last hole) was really any skill.  The only good thing about that shot, is that we were the last group on a par three and I was the last of our group to hit.  Sure enough, my only real good shot was close and yielded $10 closest to the pin.  

My up and downs were about a third of my normal total.  Partly due to both parts of that equation:  chipping AND putting.  Poor chipping and at least that bad putting (which included a 3 putt).  If there was one good thing to say about my putting was that my lag putts were pretty good.

I don't have a good deal of distance data to share.  My Shot Scope H4 decided to exit from my round around my 13th hole.  Even the H4 was disgusted with my round.

Well, there's always Thursday!
