Popular Post RollingGreens
85 on Sunday. 8 pars and a birdie. The double bogeys were killer. I tried to play a hero shot with a 110 yard flop shot and it all went downhill with 4 straight doubles. Got it together on the back for a 40. Finished with 4 straight pars. The day started off promising. But the 4 whole stretch was a killer. I got caught up in a distance battle with a partner when I usually pull 3 wood 2 times this round and I got away from my typical game. It felt good to get back on track. Popular Post ejgaudette
After some really rough round with the irons I wanted to play at least the first 9 irons only, but the weather had other ideas, and the round that this produced was amazing. It was very windy and first hole plays right into the wind. I still was committed but hit 2 5 irons and was still just short of the green, which lead to the only bogey on the front nine. I hit 3 greens with a 7 iron including both par 3s, something I have not done all year. Hit 6 of 9 greens on the front even with longer shots in. I will also credit going through the free month of DECADE foundations got me into a much better routine, and I play by myself a lot so talking through the steps was easy. On the back there are more holes into the wind so I have to take some longer clubs to even be able to reach par 4s in two as the wind picked up even a bit more. I kept the momentum going. I holed a long birdie on 14 to get to 1 over on the back. Then traded bogey and birdie at 16 and 17. Came to final hole in the right rough 176 in downwind with water short. Wanted to go easier 7 to not come up short and well mission accomplished. Caught a filer that pitched about 3 feet from the back (about 187) and hopped off the back. Hit a lovely pitch that died right at the start of the down slope to the hole where it then rolled out to 4 ft. Holed the put for my best round ever to par at +2, total 73! Who needs the driver! (I joke of course I have a new shaft coming so next round will be full send all day) Thanks to everyone who has mentioned DECADE as the routine really helped me focus on all my shots have a clear target, visualize, and just pull the trigger. One of my best short, almost dunked this 7 iron on the par 5 8th. edingc, MattF, Rickp and 16 others 14 5 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3

It now does seem very silly. A great example is the first hole at my main course. It looks tight, but when you do the math if you aim far enough left there is at least 65 yards between a small stream and OB left on the range. I now take driver and the hole has gone from about a 50/50 par bogey hole to 80/20 par to bogey ratio. cnosil, GolfSpy AFG, edingc and 4 others 7 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3
Popular Post MattWillGolf
Felt like I had the course to myself. Shaky start to the round. Was in a greenside bunker in 3 on a par 5. 3 to get of the bunker. Found the greenside bunker on number 2. Got out in 1 . Thought I was in the greenside bunker on number 3 but it ran through. . Overall my driving only got me in real trouble on one hole with an ugly slice and that was on number 9. I had a couple of three putts. I did par one hole so I got that going for me, which is nice. This one has been on my radar for quite some time but I just never got it done. I arrived early and couldn't believe how empty the parking lot was. The pro shop said the course was pretty wide open and, if I wanted to head straight out, could get started before two foursomes were scheduled about 30 minutes later... sign me up. Barely having stretched my legs from the 2-1/2 hour drive over from ID, I loaded up the cart and headed to #1. Another opportunity for a 2-ball contest. This time a PV1 vs. Chromesoft ERC. Both drives were roped and only about 10 ft from one another. I hit the PV1 straight at the flag and the CS leaked a bit right and short. Upon getting up to the green, I see the PV1 sitting inside 1 ft. I coaxed the CS to within a few feet, made that putt and the tap in for a birdie, par start . I chose the "gray" tees at 6172 yards (70/127). The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the views across the Palouse beautiful. The PV1 shot 42/44 with three birdies and the CS a 43/44 with none. Because the course was so open and I finished the first 18 pretty quick, I opted to do the $30 replay. I played 2-ball again on the front 9, PV1 (49) vs. a TP5 (43). On the back, I could feel my energy waning a bit and just played the TP5 the rest of the round, shooting a 46 on the back. I kicked myself for not clubbing down on this approach. Right at the flagstick for my 3rd shot on #18 par 5 and I get a "fried egg" on a 70 degree lie. I tried hacking it up and out but it hit the lip and rolled back down. Definitely a Advil night . The Olympic Course at Gold Mountain near Seattle is a must play. I also like to play his Juniper Golf Club in Redmond Oregon. He did a lot of renovation of older courses in CA, and he died suddenly while down there at age 53. Truly a great loss. See you tomorrow Bill. After Palouse Ridge you will be in for a rude awakening at Columbia Point!! Interesting Kenny... I have played Olympic at Gold Mountain and Juniper, along with Palouse... I didn't realize they were all the same designer. I agree... love the layout of those courses!! Popular Post TR1PTIK
Had a decent round Monday with an 87 at Tierra Verde in Arlington, TX. It's a pretty tight track (off the tee) and after racking up a number of penalty strokes the previous week, I decided to formulate a gameplan and put it on paper to take to the course. I cut the penalty strokes in half and only one of those was a result of strategy - the rest were simply execution errors (either target selection or just a bad swing). I went from 29% fairways last week to 57% fairways this week - only missed one fairway on the back nine. GIR was down slightly from 39% to 33% which was disappointing, but I wasn't off by much most of the time. My buddies and I got paired with a high school kid who was there to practice for a two-day tournament which started yesterday (currently T2 at -1). If this kid isn't on tour one day I'll be surprised. His game was perhaps the best I've seen in any playing partner and I have a few friends who have spent time on developmental tours. It was a fun day watching him absolutely stripe it and share some strategy with him since he had never played the course before. We were hitting very different clubs, but it was further validation that doing my homework was the right move. A nice bonus was that simply watching how he held the club and moved it through the turf seemed to rub off on me. I found myself staying down through the shot better and hitting flight windows I'm not used to seeing. Final highlight of the round was achieving a 4.50 scoring average on the par fives - birdied two, parred two. I never seem to get as much out of a par five as I know I should and this ties my previous best from earlier in the season when I had three birdies and a bogey at a different course. Tomorrow, I'm off to meet with Kenny, Chris, and Martha to play Columbia Point. Looks like a good day and another beautiful course. cksurfdude 1 Quote TSi3 10° w/ Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 65g TS2 15° 3W w/ Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0 70g 818 H1 21° Hybrid w/ Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue 70g MP-18 MMC 2 iron w/ KBS Tour C-Taper S 120g JPX 921 HM 5-GW w/ Project X LZ 5.5 115g JB Forged 54° & 58° w/ Project X LZ 6.0 120g EV5.3 Black

Popular Post cjeffs12
I went to the course yesterday prepared to practice, but the course was wide open and the pro said lets go play. I played 9 holes, and easily had my best ball striking day, and after 9 the pro said this is the best he has ever seen me swing. This is the first time on the course I don't have a bunch of swing thoughts. Everything feels free and easy. I drove one par 4 on the fringe, and flew one over long. The ZX7 is a beast! I just fell into my comfort zone of score of 41, so I need to work on scoring now. More so in picking better targets, so I plan on really digging into DECADE. I'm hoping to get in some holes this evening, but if not I really need to dial in my wedges and putter. Popular Post CarlH
It was a hot one today in AR, somewhere in the mid 90s. I drank a lot of water and 2 gatorades to stay hydrated. Shot a 39 on the front with one birdie, then made the turn. Things were going okay, but I was already 3 over through 4 holes on the back. Then I chili dip a wedge shot and double 15. 16 is a 145 yard par 3 and I stuck it about 10 feet to the left and burned the edge for a tap in par, then went birdie, birdie (both with 8 foot putts (give or take)) on the final 2 holes for another 39 and an overall 78 for the day. Ladies Member-Guest starts tomorrow, so I won't be playing until Saturday when I play a nearby muni. Supposed to be over 100 Saturday, but our tee time is 7:24, so we should be through before the highs for the day are reached. Summer is definitely here!!!! Popular Post Sluggo42
Irons on fire today. 5 birdies, but unfortunately 5 bogies. 3 kick ins. so I found and played one of those TM green stripe balls for a few holes- have to admit, the color is stupid. Maybe use a color that contrasts the grass..I spent way too much time looking for the ball in the middle of the fairway. Then in the rough? Popular Post GolfSpy_SHARK
Got 2 18’s in with my dad today. Playing another 18 tomorrow. Two beautiful courses 5 minutes apart. Was awesome. went 82/83. I struggled the second round after about 8 holes, was pretty gassed and I struggled on my second shots. the first round while it was an 82 I felt like it was my best ever chance at an even par round. I hit 10 greens and my approach play was A1 best I have ever played. Where I struggled? Putting!!!! I had multiple 3 putts and a 4!!!! I missed multiple birdie chances, including 10-14 where I had a chance every time. we got to see some wild life and was all in all a great day.
