SPY VIP GolfSpy_X 895 Posted October 29, 2014 SPY VIP Share Posted October 29, 2014 ANNOUNCEMENT - MyGolfSpy's New Forum Directors I wanted to quickly say thank you to all of those that applied for the Forum Director position. We have completed our search for the MGS Forum Director and we wanted to thank you for taking the time to apply. After all the applications it became apparent that this was going to be more than a 1 man job if we wanted to do this right. We had an incredibly unique application that came in that we knew early on would be a great fit. It was a group application, made up of 4 long standing MGS forum members. We have already started to put a plan in place to give you guys the type of experience you deserve. Over the next 12 months we are going to make every effort possible to make the forum the most influential in golf. And a place for real golfers to visit and have open discussions about the game they love. And a place you can learn more about the game and make some lasting friendships. This is going to be a true community of golfers that share a similar vision. With that being said I want to introduce the (4) New MGS Forum Directors to you all. From this point forward these will be your point of contacts for any and everything related to the forum. In the coming days and weeks you will be a part of this change and growth. You will also begin to see some early plans for what we have in store. I hope you guys enjoy the things we have planned. ==================================================================== John Barba aka “Barbajo†Prior Lake, MN Age 54 Why are you an MGS member? – I made MGS my online “home†because it reminds me of Cheers, where everyone knows your name! Seriously – it was the one forum where, as a newcomer, I felt welcome and encouraged to participate. Not every Golf Forum is like that – especially if you don't claim to be a low single-digit ‘capper who averages 307 off the tee and can feather-fade a 6-iron to a back-right pin placement on command. It's a real home for real golfers. What brought you to MGS? – I was looking for irons and was looking for reviews online, and virtually every search brought me to MGS. The reviews were honest, frank and extremely informative, and helped point me in the right direction. They were written with the “real†golfer in mind – not the “internet sensation.†Why do you stay? – So many friends! Like I said, it's like Cheers – the theme song is bouncing through my head as I write this. My 18 year-old likes to say “Dad's hangin' with his goffin' peeps again.†I've been able to meet and play with several Forum members, and hope to do more of it in the future! What do the forums mean to you? – Simple – it's where my goffin' peeps hang! It's where I come to share experiences, to learn about equipment and to learn better ways to play this crazy game. Couple of years ago I tried my hand at clubmaking and was amazed how many strangers became friends because they wanted to help. It's a generous, knowledgeable and friendly community. You don't find that just anywhere. Reviews & Other Highlights: I reviewed the Cobra Amp Cell irons in the summer of 2013, and just recently was fortunate enough to visit Nike's “The Oven†and write a review. Jason Bonesteel aka “JBones†Newburgh, IN Age 34 Why are you an MGS member? – I like the wide range of members, personality wise and skill wise. There's not a bunch of 300 yard driving phenoms, so it allows me to be that guy….HA. I also love the mission of MGS……keeping it real for real golfers (my words). What brought you to MGS? – I had been a lurker for a while, but I officially came for a review/thoughts on cheaper “Tour†quality golf balls. Why do you stay? – I have made a lot of friends on MGS and I'm not talking internet friends, I'm talking about people that I have drove hours in pouring rain to hang out with. I also think that MGS is at the top of their game with the current staff that is in place and the way they go about their business. What do the forums mean to you? – It's a place where I can go to talk…..about golf, life, beer, cigars, etc. I have also learned a lot about the game and equipment from people in all walks of life. I love all the different view points. Reviews & Other Highlights: I reviewed the TaylorMade Rocketbladez and a few other of my experiences with equipment fittings and such. I was also one of the 8 MGS'ers sent to Carlsbad for the Taylormade SLDR Loft Up event. Sean Frazier aka “Mr_Theoo†Columbus, Ohio Age 27 Why are you an MGS member? - Because I'm not judged on what's in my bag or how long I hit the ball. At MGS my opinion is valued as much as the next person and any question I can think of is met with real answer and not ridicule. What brought you to MGS? - The reviews on the blog brought me and the family-like environment on the Forums keeps me coming back. I only started golfing 3 years ago with very little knowledge, and I've learned so much at MGS in such a short amount of time. Why do you stay? – Simple – it's the friendships! My “real world†friends aren't into golf, so it's nice to have others to talk to who are as obsessed as I am. What do the forums mean to you? - The forums are a place to unwind, learn and talk golf and life. It's my hangout where I come to enjoy golf even when I'm not playing it. Reviews & Other Highlights: I've reviewed the RBZ stage 2 hybrid and fairway woods. I was also one of the 8 MGS'ers sent to Carlsbad for the Taylormade SLDR Loft Up event. Brad Clarke aka “Aotearoabrad†Mililani, HI Age 34 Why are you an MGS member? – I'm a member because of the independence of the information that MGS provides. I feel I can trust the reviews on MGS – and that's unique! What brought you to MGS? – I initially found out about MGS while looking for reviews for irons I was looking at purchasing. I was lured in by a contest but loved the fact that the reviews were independent of OEMs, and I have stayed because of the community within MGS. Why do you stay? – haha – I've met some cool peeps. I guess I figured I'd take the info I needed and that'd be it, but some of the conversations I've had on the forums have led to real friendships and I now have a bunch of guys all across the US (and abroad) that I'm really looking forward to teeing it up with! What do the forums mean to you? – It's a place where I can get unbiased information and exposure to a bunch of new equipment/news that I wouldn't otherwise be exposed to. It's also a place that I feel comfortable talking honestly about my game (the good, the bad, and the very ugly) and can ask for advice. The reason that I can do that is because my experience has been the members are very sincere in providing constructive feedback – whether that's through advice… or a gentle suggestion to get fitted! Reviews & Other Highlights: 2014 Cobra Bio-CELL Irons Member-reviews, Course Reviews, and some small goods reviews along the way ==================================================================== 6 Quote #TruthDigestFollow @MyGolfSpy

Also auditions for the 14th spot in the bag. Current possibilities are a Ping 26 degree hybrid - duplicates the 9 wood or 5 iron but would be used almost exclusively for chipping or Tour Exotics 3 wood simply because you can carry 14 clubs and I might occasionally hit it in certain unusual wind conditions once every four or five rounds.
