All Good Things Must Come To and End

Actually Make that All Great Things--

After almost 4 years of serving as Moderator, Forum Director and Staff Admin.  It's unfortunately come time that I need  to re prioritize my time commitments. I'm stepping away from my day to day activities/duties of Forum Director and taking on more of advisory role and doing some odds and ends things to help out the moderators and of course @GolfSpy_THV and @GolfSpy MPR as they continue to lead the forum.

I've taken on the responsibility of overseeing another course in our portfolio and it's going to require a lot more of my time and attention.  As such I won't have the time needed to properly serve as a day to day Staff Admin.  You'll still see me around doing some things here and there like running the final two Majors Contests Pools.  Posting any newsworthy releases I get from the OEM's and of course just posting my usual club buying and testing adventures.

I'm not going away, I promise you that. The staff is in good hands now with THV and MPR and the new additions of @GolfSpy_TCG and @GolfSpy_CS  I'll just be watching from the practice squad ready to fill in if needed and available.

As I've said, many times over the years, this forum is so great because of the members, you guys made this job easy. We have had to do so little moderating that it allows us to do other cool fun things and not have to worry about what's being posted where.  That is so unusual in this day and age of forums.

Lastly, I have to give a huge thank you to @GolfSpy Barbajo @hckymeyer and @GolfSpy_X for giving me this opportunity several years ago, and for supporting the Admin staff in everything we do, in more ways than you guys will ever know.   Adam is an awesome owner, and Barbs is one the best and most professional dudes I've ever had the chance to "work" with if you call this work!

Now, I've got a new update to my driver challenge to post soon, so as Miranda would say  "We Out!"

For those who don't know: there are some Forum tests we do that are arranged by the MGS blog. But there are others that are initiated from the Forum staff—and as long as I've been a mod, it has been Rob whose contacts and relationships have opened doors for us to get some amazing gear into your guys' hands for testing. That's not easily replaced.

Rob, it's been fun working with you. In the two years I've been a mod, you've probably gone through at least 3 full bag overhauls. May there be many more for you!

I will say this is a sad day for the forum, you've always been great to work with and talk to and you will be missed. I am not saying that I'm not happy for you, I am and wish you nothing but the best. Thank you for all the hard work you've put in here as Admin making this the best golf forum on the internet! It's going to be fun hearing about your new adventures and, of course, your driver testing.

Thanks Rob!

Rob,

First off THANK YOU for everything that you have done over the years! Those will be some BIG SHOES for MGS to fill!

You and I go back a long way and I’m proud to call you a friend. I wish you nothing but success in your future endeavors.

A whole new course to manage means you’ll have to leave clubs there to play 😂 That means at least 2 more sets 🤣😂

l have said for years when OEMS put out a new line they just go ahead a build you a set and send an invoice 😂

Good luck my friend, You will be missed

You have to quote the application announcement post, twice, with no less than 16 meme’s.  Make sure to apply for the US Only tests, and make sure to jump on the Odyssey Putter opportunity when it arrises.

Thank you for being a really great forum leader and congratulations on the new assignment!

You have to quote the application announcement post, twice, with no less than 16 meme’s.  Make sure to apply for the US Only tests, and make sure to jump on the Odyssey Putter opportunity when it arrises.

Ah. Both great suggestions. Of course I will list my playing qualifications even though it’s not asked 😂

Thanks Michael!  You’ve been a great asset to the forum.   You all have no idea how many off the wall emails we get from random people.  Everything from screaming  about not being picked for a testing to asking us to help with a customer service issue they are having with a club company.  Not a forum test mind you but just a general run of the mill problem they are having with any company.   And MPR responds with grace and an honest attempt to point them in the right direction.

In addition I often used him a sounding board on a PM to a “misbehaving” member that I was about to send.  It usually ended with him telling me, I might want to be a bit more civil.  😬😬   And when I looked back at it, he was always right!  Well there was one time, I didn’t think so.  But that’s another story. Ha

I have truly enjoyed working along side you.
