No shot is hit with top spin, not even a put. Why can't announcers know or learn this? 

Also, USA getting a good thumping today. 

On announcers.  I didn't like Morgan Pressel at all, her voice was way to high and screechy.   I literally had to turn it down every time she spoke.

Agree, Announcing wasn’t very good.

Same. She’s still learning the skill of in studio and on course reporting so I give her a break on that but her voice is definitely too high for tv

I watched a little of the Solheim Cup and I do watch some LPGA tournaments, but I don't care for team golf events. I'm not a fan of the Ryder Cup or the Presidents Cup either. I just see golf as an individual sport, not meant to be a team event - there are plenty of IMO better team sports to watch.

And the team events seem to be a little more raucous than most tournaments, also not a fan of that trend.

I assume I'm not in the majority on either count.

I agree that the LPGA is definitely golf that most of us can relate with. Some impressive shots and great putts on a very challenging course.  It clearly shows on any given weekend the best of team on paper doesn't end up winning.  So its a reminder that the Ryder Cup will be interesting again this year.

It was a great event to watch, and overall I think that the LPGA and PGA announcers are better than most sports. I consistently need to mute the tv to watch any Football, college or NFL.

I'd have to agree. The Golf Channel, NBC et al, CBS and ESPN all seem to have good teams for golf, especially now that Johnny Miller retired. I cringe when Fox gets coverage, but fortunately that's pretty rare. I don't remember the last time I saw the PGA on ABC?

It's interesting how some commentators are no longer at the events, they comment based on live feeds at their remote locations I assume. I know Faldo has been on the air as a primary commentator without being there, not sure how many others.

I think you're to use to Judy Rankin. Morgan, I believe has only done 2  or 3 events, she needs a bit more coaching but longer term she'll be a good asset for the network. It's good having someone who's been in the mix and knows the players.

She’s done several and no matter how many more she does or how much she improves her voice isn’t made for broadcasting

The atmosphere seemed terrific. Festive but nothing over the top.
