Popular Post Preeway
Good morning everyone. Gonna be a bit cold and dreary today with wind and rain in the forecast. Can’t complain too much as it’s being really dry the last few weeks. Hoping we get enough rain to soften up the courses before I head out tomorrow. Gonna do my best to not make a fool of myself after shooting 69. Then again, it’s a shorter course so maybe I try to grind out a 68? Either way, it’s a round of golf with my son so it will be a great day. Looking forward to the community call this afternoon. Hope to see some of you all there. Popular Post BigMacQue
Good morning, I've missed you guys. Been more than a week since I've posted in here. Finally got to play a round yesterday. I've been limited to the range and the practice green for a few days due to a lingering eye infection. Thankfully I took my grandson with me so he could help me spot my ball - more than once he had to point right at it to get me to my next stroke. But .... I get to play today and tomorrow, and then two rounds lined up for next week. I'll wrap up my testing of the Arias Chipper by the end of next week and then the week after I get fitted for a new fairway wood. So .... all in all it's all good. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning Spies, and happy Thursday!! Been warm here the last couple of days, with highs in the mid to upper 60's and yesterday into the low 70's. Today will be mid 70's, but with the return of rain later today and all day tomorrow. Then temps back down to the 40's on Monday. So I think Spring is here, but with a few days where Spring has it's back turned to Winter. But I do like seeing all the sunny days this weekend and next week. Hoping it'll be nice enough to get a range session on Saturday with a mid 60's and partly sunny day, currently. Work continues in the laundry room. Drywall mud and tape jobs done and sanded. Texture applied to the walls. Paint done as well. Luckily I have enough leftover paint from the previous owners to do the laundry area. I think we may be able to start fitting the utility cabinet along with the base and wall cabinets next to it today, so we can cut out the proper amount of baseboard so they fit nice and snug. Forward progress is great to see in the room and I can't wait to get it all done. But it'll be at least another 1-2 weeks before we can finish it all. We'll get there. Popular Post ILMgolfnut
Good morning Spies! Feeling the aftereffects of sitting out on that parking lot in Augusta for 30 hours the last three days. I feel like I played 36 for three straight days instead. So no round today at the Patch (Augusta Muni) or anywhere else. After I get to Charlotte this afternoon, I might go find a range; I believe there's one near my hotel. Might. Plan is also to do a workout at the hotel fitness room. I'm now seeing multiple signs around Augusta offering "golf tickets". They never say to what, probably because ANGC has lawyers and they're not afraid to use them, but that jibes with what I've heard about the scalpers' market. One side note: While I was sitting in the parking lot yesterday, a couple from Illinois came up to join our study. He said they have family in the Augusta area and come down occasionally. I could tell he'd been there at least once before because he was wearing a Masters golf shirt. I commented on that and he said he had gotten lucky in the Masters ticket lottery. I didn't even know they had a lottery. So while he was getting his blood drawn, I went to the Masters website and signed up for the 2025 ticket lottery, which doesn't actually happen until June-ish. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone!! It’s 32º but going to be sunny and 60º today; a little cooler this morning because no cloud cover last night. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours pitching, chipping and putting. I also tried to hit a few shots on the range, but each strike was met with a twinge of pain in my back. Hopefully, I can get rid of that before my Saturday tee time. Spent some time stretching in my sauna; seems to help a little, so will repeat today. I also booked a SAM PuttLab session for next Wednesday; never done it before so this should be interesting. Not sure I want to know that much about my putting stroke. I’m pretty sure that nobody putts the same way I do… wonder what SAM will think? I was able to walk 9 holes yesterday with a friend and it felt so good to be outside in shorts hitting a rock with a stick! I didn't play great, but I had a very good finish! Today is meeting day at work, so I'll be in meeting rooms and calls until into the evening. I might put some headphones in so I can listen to The Players broadcast during some of these meetings! Have a good day everyone! @Preeway - congrats on breaking 70! Next level achievement! I have never done it before and it's my goal for this year! @Erin B - You've been playing some epic courses lately! My jealousy meter is pretty full! I play Conestoga again today, then Palmer and Canyons the next two days. Yes I’m playing er hacking on some awesome courses! Popular Post Rob Person
Good morning spies! Happy CC day too! Currently waiting to tee off, so thought I'd jump on here quickly. Hoping for a repeat of yesterday's swing improvement performance! but we are doing a best ball scramble today, not sure our 4th will make it, as his lady boss said "didn't you just play yesterday?" Have a great day! Not sure I want to know that much about my putting stroke. I’m pretty sure that nobody putts the same way I do… wonder what SAM will think? I’m interested in hearing your results. Try to get the detailed report and not the basic club recommendation report. the detail report will show face angle, path, rotation, tempo, aim, loft at impact, AoA, etc. just trying to learn about your stroke or looking for a new putter? You may have unique setup things, but there aren’t that many different strokes.
