Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! I'll start out by saying Happy Birthday to @Josh Parker! I hope it's a good day for you Today is my dermatology visit so I'm up a little earlier than I wanted. The appointment isn't until 3, but I woke up to a buzzing mind and couldn't shut it off. That, and I'm only used to getting about 6 hours of sleep so the body gets a tad achy if I'm laying down too long. It's going to be a good day, though. My wife and I are going to have lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant beforehand. I need to stop at Academy Sports and see what wood they have for my smoker and hopefully they have some maple. Nummy. I hope y'all have a good day! Triple_Putt, Josh Parker, Steve F and 24 others
Popular Post Preeway
Good morning everyone. Not glad to be eliminated from the finals of the VCT but the weather gods appear to have not wanted me to play any golf anyway. Heavy rains overnight last night and now it appears some snow could arrive for the next 36 hours. DAMN YOU GROUNDHOG!!! Crossing fingers it's only a 1 week interruption/delay for spring. Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies from a hopefully last frosty morning in WNY for the SPRING season (hear that Spring?) Curling was a great time yesterday with my team that's been put together many times (it is recreational therapy and not a league) seemingly outclassed by the other team for most of the 2 hour game but we were all tied with 8 minutes left in the day and just enough time for the last and 6th end. This time we finished strong as the other team seemed to tire and we took it by 3. Like golf it keeps me thinking I will have to play again! Brilliant sunny day that finally broke above freezing which always makes spirits happier. Popular Post Mr_BogeyPro
Good morning fellow golfers, How did everyone play this weekend (if you were able to escape)? I shot a +12 which I was fairly happy to shoot. Had a ton of good shots, some good chips, and my putting seemed to be with me this weekend. Best shot was on 18. I drove the ball 256 and had 174 yards into an uphill green. Flushed a 5 hybrid, and was right off the green. Two putted for a par (it was my 7th par on the back and 4 in a row). Popular Post Jim Shaw
Good morning spy's Arrived home yesterday from our trip to Tofino on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, the scenery and fun didn't disappoint. One more week on the grandkids on spring break so that will keep my wife and I busy, I will sneak in 3 rounds this week and start working on my usual warm up routine on the golf course. 10-15 bunker shots, I find the rhythm in the bunkers helps my rhythm in my overall swing, 20 chips around the green, focus on "pure strikes" eye on the back on the ball and follow through, putt for about 15 minutes, 6 push putts with alignment sticks then 10-15 longer putts to get a feel of the speed of the greens. small bucket of balls to loosen up these old muscles, then head to the pro shop to socialize a bit with the team then off to the 1st. tee... Warmer weather is just around the corner along with some tournaments so time to get serious. The whole warm up session usually takes about 90 minutes. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning Spies, and happy Monday. It's a bit warmer this morning than the last few days, which is a good thing. It's getting warmer in general, which is definitely a great thing. Some rain overnight and into tomorrow morning, but the rest of the week should be wonderful. Sat/Sun are highs at 71 with mostly sunny skies, at least that's what the app says for now. So we'll watch it during the week and see about playing some this weekend. I'm also going to see about getting some range time in after work this week, as it should still be warm enough to do so between 4:30-5:30pm. I have a lesson Saturday morning, so I'd like to get a session or two in before then. Continued work on the laundry this week, while we wait for the 2 replacement wall cabinets which is sort of holding us up. But I'm hoping they're in either today or tomorrow. That will allow us to really finish up quickly as most of the heavy work on the walls is all done. Just spray-on texture and paint, then cabinets. Anyway, everyone have a great week and hopefully Spring is arriving where you are.
