Thanks @J7Hawkins! If you carried the ball 330 it would roll down the hill. Kind of a perfect storm for me to rip the driver. It is a gamble on that hole because it is tight and there is heather on both sides of the fairway. Was able to get both tee shots in the fairway and chipping greenside for both rounds of the US AM qualifier.

Haven’t posted for awhile-so bummed how my game went down the tubes after things were looking up in June. Started looking up again yesterday shooting 84 after about 3-4 games in the mid 90s. Even had a 101 in the mix. Hopefully will continue on the better path going forward!

I feel embarrassed to post this score as the Men’s club moved us up tees due to the heat. I drove two par 4’s at 248 and 256 with a 3 wood. Hit a 565 yard par 5 with 5 wood and 5 hybrid. However, miss a ton of putts. This round could have been special, but walked off feeling average!

Birdied 2, 4, 15 - A par 3, par 4, and a par 3. I had nothing more than a double-bogey (3). Stroked the ball really well. Stayed out of trouble. Best thing were my approach shots. Dropped three of them within a 10-12 foot bucket. Either made the putt or made a two-putt.

Beautiful 85° and ideal scoring conditions, but it was wasted due to my lack of pre-round warmup and walking to the first tee.  I haven't played this course in several years, but I wanted to play a practice round before a TT event this weekend.  I drove the ball well, but approach shots were pitiful.  Based on the Arccos data, the missed shots left are correctable, and I'll be ready for the TT event on Saturday will better results.

Took about 10 holes to find my swing, and more consistent contact, but the last few holes felt pretty good.  Did ok on my up and downs, but have some work to do there, especially if I have days like the last few rounds where I am not hitting the center of the club face.

This will be my only posted score this week.  I'll miss my normal Saturday round as I'll be rating the new Greg Norman golf course Shell Bay in Hallendale, Florida.  My normal Tuesday round was preempted by a trip to urgent care.  The night before I took my beagle Scout out for a walk.  She doesn't like to get her dainty paws wet, so she bolted back for the door.  I was turning, my flip flop slipped and I did a face plant onto my concrete front porch.  Urgent care confirmed "no definite acute facial/orbital bone fracture or dislocation."  There was evidence of "old chronic fracture deformities of the nasal bones" and "severe chronic nasal septum deviation to the right" which is from being hit on the nose, on the fly in Myrtle Beach about 30 years ago.  That's another story.

Well, the accident must have knocked some golf sense into me.  I shot 82 (net -1).  What made it difficult today was they aerated several greens for the second time in two weeks.  They top dressed, but didn't smooth out the sand.  We were literally putting through sand so deep you left visible shoe prints that you had to putt over.  

I was very happy that I doubled my usual greens in regulation.  It was the first time I really felt comfortable with my Callaway Paradym X irons I've been reviewing.  My 71% fairways hit would have been a little higher as two of our narrow fairways were missed by a foot or two.  

Overall, I'm hoping I've turned the corner a bit.

Great job @Syks7!  I'd plan on breaking 80 more often now. 

For many of us, we flirt at breaking at time seem like insurmountable score barriers.  Too often ending up within one or two strokes of that barrier and get frustrated that we just can't get over that scoring hump.  However, once we've demonstrated to ourselves that it's possible, somehow it doesn't seem as insurmountable as before and we find it somewhat easier to do again.  I first broke 80 in an uncharacteristically warm November in Upstate New York.  The following weekend it was equally warm and did it again on a different course!  

So, I'd expect more rounds in the 70's might be in your near future!
