Popular Post TSauer
Whether it be with mannerisms or course layout or something else that just drives you nuts... What is it? I'll start, mine is when people aren't ready to hit when it's their turn. I used to golf with one of my father-in-law's friends and every time it was his turn to hit, he would still be in the cart carrying on conversation, finishing a smoke, and just oblivious to everything else going on. Popular Post GolfSpy_KFT
Echoing the sentiments of comments already made by @Josh Parker & @GolfSpy_BEN, slow play, whether it is blatant or ignorant bliss, is by far what irks me the most on the course. It throws me out of a rhythm and annoys me to the point that sometimes I am better off just walking off or strictly treating the remainder of the round as practice. Watching a foursome on the green where three who are not putting stand around, then line up their putt only when it is their turn, irritates me to no end!!! Popular Post GolfSpy_SHARK
I do not have many, I don't care if you walk in my line or talk during my swing, really does not bother me but these two REALLY bother me. -As many have said slow play. I cannot deal with this lol. I am fine if your slapping the ball around, going OB or playing two balls but just be ready to play and don't spend 5 minutes looking for your ball. If you're spraying it just bring a lot of balls and drop one man! -The other is screaming loudly or banging your clubs on the course. First of all I get being frustrated and getting the "rrrrrrr" out but you dont need to be screaming obscenities really loud, do it under your breath. The other damaging the course is my BIGGEST pet peeve. Dont damage it man, its hard enough to maintain. Popular Post Shapotomous
Slow play is obvious so i will play ready comment and hit my next one! I hate course abuse. Whether it is divots or ball marks there is no excuse for not fixing them other than being lazy. And in the lazy category another thing that i hate to see is carts being taken up close to the green. Popular Post Rob Person
This is my personal peeve as a player (and an employee) at a golf course. Food! You may see the beverage cart twice in the round. (They only have 1 cart for 3 courses) so you most likely HAVE to stop at the clubhouse on the turn. The grill inside has 3 people working usually. If it's a busy day, you probably will wait 20 minutes for a hot dog and chips! Now, if you have the number, you can call ahead before the turn, and most times they will accommodate ordering ahead. The cart MAY have some ready made sandwiches and has snacks too. When you get back to the turn, the Marshall has chewed people out for running the times behind or starting out of place. Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
# 1 SLOW PLAY. Sunday, I pulled into the parking lot, and I could see the first tee was empty. I got out my MotoCaddy, put my bag on, put my golf shoes on. Still, nobody on the first tee. I checked in at the Pro shop. He said I was good to go. There was a twosome riding that went off a little while ago and they should be on #4 by now. I get to the tee box in which the elevation is lower than the fairway. I walked up to where I could see if the fairway was clear. Not the case the twosome was not even on the green yet and it was only a 368-yard straight hole. At that rate it was going to be a 7-hour round. I waited for them to clear the green and tee off on the par three 150-yard 2nd hole before I hit my tee shot on hole 1. I finished the hole, and they were still on the green on 2. I headed over to Hole 4 to get in front of them. Never saw them the rest of the day. Heck I was probably home before they made it to the back 9. #2. Courses need to put sand in the bunkers not a 1/4" dusting of sand and small pebbles. If you get in one rake it when you're done. #3. Popular Post Golf2Much
Just a couple: People who park their carts in front of or wrong side of the green while they are putting. Visitors who don't fix green ball marks or fill divots with provided sand. They are there once and don't care. People stop, fill out their scorecards and talk about their missed opportunities on the side of the green before proceeding to the next tee. Do all that on the next tee box! Golf courses that forget that you are the customer and should be treated with some respect for spending their hard-earned dollars playing a game. Preeway
Slow play is annoying but I also expect it these days which is sad. My #1 pet peeve is ball marks on the green. It’s just disrespectful to everyone else to not even try to repair them. I was taught when I first began playing to fix yours and at least one more. #2 is definitely bunkers with low sand or poorly maintained sand and are now hard and firm. Popular Post Golf2Much
I was a member of a country club for a while when I lived in Western New York. The club held a membership drive to help finance some clubhouse renovations. The next year the average round time went from 4 hours to 4 hours 15 minutes. For the board (mostly single digit handicappers), that was unacceptable! That winter they required all members and their spouses to attend a three-hour workshop before they were allowed to play golf in the spring. The workshop focused on speed of play items such as stay up with the group in front of you, where to park your cart so you can efficiently move to the next tee, etc. It also included things like how to properly enter a trap, where to leave the rakes, how to fix a ball mark and other golf fundamentals. Turns out many of the new (and old) members had no idea! That spring, round times were back at 4 hours or faster and the course was in much better shape! Popular Post Shrek74
1. People who don't fix their ball marks on the green!!!! UGH!! 2. When playing cart path only, people who walk out to their ball no matter how close or far away it is to get a measurement and then go back to the cart to get a club. 2b. When playing cart path only, don't get an estimated distance and only take 1 club to their ball. Then realize it's not the right one and have to go back for a different one. IT'S OK TO TAKE MORE THAN ONE CLUB TO YOUR BALL!!!! There are many more, but these are the two that really stick out badly to me. archship, jbern, Senior Champ and 7 others 10 Quote In My Sun Mountain C-130 'merica Cart Bag: Driver: Stealth+ Rocket 3W, 13.5* turned down to 12.75*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 75g Fairway: 949x 3w, 15*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Fairway: 949x 5w, 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Hybrid: 939x 4H (21*), Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Black, 90g Irons: 101's, 5-PW, DG120 S300 Wedges: 286 @ 50*, JBFG @ 54* & 60*, DG120 S300 Putter: 002 Mid-Mallet @ 35", Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, Desert Camo Ball: Tour & Testing Vero X1 Technology: H4 w/ Tags, Pro L2 Rangefinder

Yep, slow play! All of it. I have a buddy who sometimes takes his sweet time getting back in the cart after playing a hole or even a shot sometimes. Love the guy, but c'mon man.
