While not at the same time I was fit for every club in my bag as well as the Pro VI ball. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course.  It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to.

I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.

First day home course was open and managed to get a quick nine in... Felt great and played decently well with only a few loose shots. Didn't keep score, but overall really happy and a great start to the season

Played pretty well! Shot 77! (40/37, bogeyed 17 & 18). I only hit 7 of 14 fairways, but as usual, our fairways are 22 yards wide! I missed four by less than 5 yards, so I'm thinking I'd have hit around 10 anywhere else. These Mizuno MP-18 SCs are legit! The small adjustment made to my EdelE-2 putter at Club Champion, taking some loft off, worked GREAT!!! Once I figured out how this driver was hitting the ball with the new shaft, I hit four fairways in-a-row. Nice high draws! Perfect! 31 putts, only 14 on the back.

83 again in a buddy's one day member-guest. 39/44. Started out great, only 1 over after 5 holes. Then my incision started hurting, putts stopped dropping, and I was stuck on the bogey train. Took me until 17 to make another par. But my birdie on #3 actually held up and won me a skin.

Beats being at work, and the weather was perfect.

... Great start! I think this is a key to getting better. Hitting actual golf shots on a course without caring where they end up, or at least not caring bout where the end up for scoring purposes, is a great way to improve. Hit a bad shot? Drop another ball and try again. Something about being in the fairway and aiming at a real green makes it a little more competitive than standing at the range and banging balls. The shot may not count, but you still have to go get the ball and if you are walking that makes you focus and try to hit the best shot you can. I have made more progress playing a practice round than any other method of practice. In fact if I am struggling, I always try to get out by myself where I can take the same kind of swings and hit the same kind of shots I would in a round of golf. If you have not played a practice round alone, I highly recommend you give it a try.

Made a quick trip to Corvallis Oregon to take care of some financial issues for my dad; about a 300 mile drive.  Got out of the car and went into the clubhouse at Trysting Tree GC to ask if a single could get out.  I know the pro there; used to work with his mom.  I have played the course several times but it has been many years.  Six holes were recently revised including two new holes on the back nine.  It's a relatively flat course, but it's a looooong walk.

I joined a 3-some and walked the course and shot 42/45 = 87; just never could get a feel for the green speed.  Seemed quick but wasn't that fast.   My GPS was lost on the new 6 holes; had to use the yardage markers on the course.  It made me realize how much I depend on knowing the yardage.  The other 3 guys were great and we had a lot of fun; they shot 102, 104, and 105.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Happy to check in today...only my 20 th round since the begining of March.I played a to early..and was playing pretty well. we had some weather problems, then got busy with end of the year school stuff and finally I had a back flair up. That being said Last weekend I shot a solid 79.which could have been better but I was really happy not playing much...Then Sunday my back flared. I could hardly walk so I didn't even think about playing. The only thing I have done in March is work on putting..which I have a new putter, and a pro gave me a quick tip for my stroke..and I love it. Feels much better. So I finally feel good, have good weather and have time to play. I had no expectations. I have been working out pretty hard so I was hoping to see some distance benefits from that(which I did last time out). That was all I was looking for. Well my driving was not good from the start..I hit 2 fairways but I never got in to much of a bad spot..I just wasn't hitting my normal drive. More direction than anything else. So I start on 1...and miss left on a dogleg right..add 50 yards or so to the hole. I had a about 201 to the hole...I hit a 7 iron. I carried it about 224 which is huge for me. I usually would hit a knock down 5 iron from here, and a full one from 220 . So i step up to lag putt to hopefully get a par to start. I drill the birdie from somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60 feet. (26.5 full strides)..good start! I then birdie of 2 of the next 3. I end up with 6 birdies (most ever). 3 of which were bombs..my 50+ footer, another one from around 40 and another from around 20 (on 18). I could only wish this was how I would putt from here on out. Regardless, I had my seasons best, tied my best 18 ever, and broke par for the 2nd time on 9. I finished 35-39 for 74.

Buddy Trip Day 3......

Oaks National, correction: Oaks Awful....some of the course fairways were cow pasture-like. New owners last year..new Greens, but not kept up. Shot 91, with a Birdie. Putted from off the green on par 5(Skin Worth $20). Very odd layout, with some holes horseshoe or snakelike.

Sunday is final day with round at Hawk's Landing, a Marriott Resort.

Think I'm getting the hang of this Arccoss system......

Sorry your round got cut short for that. It must be tough.

My other takeaway from that post: maybe I should try the half bottle of scotch the night before. I'd take 40 any way I could get it at this point. [emoji6]

To make it truly Irish, low score for hole needs to do a shot of Jameson.

Well my third round out this year so far. I shot an 88 and am really striking the ball poorly. Hitting 57% of the fairways and 32% of the greens. I think it's time for some lessons again I can't figure out what's wrong on my own. Upgrade my driver to the Taylormade M1 and the GC2 didn't lie to me I am now hitting it about 25 yards further than my old driver. I am scrambling really good though. Putting could use some work.SmartSelect_20180428-192109_Skygolf%20360.jpgSmartSelect_20180428-192130_Skygolf%20360.jpg

Driver was off on the front nine as wedges were nowhere dialed in all day and course conditions made getting a good lie around the or inside 100 tough to really do much with the wedges.

Back 9 driver came back and scoring was much better

Where did you play ?  I would figure the courses were still a bit damp from yesterday's drenching...

...Finished with 5 straight pars, and wanted to keep playing.

That's the hook that keeps you coming back for the hope of doing it again only to get  those doubles, triples and quads...well at least me :D

First round of 2018, started with a birdie, lipped out a birdie on 2, and that was all for the highlights. Struck it bad, didn't hit many good far drives, missed some putts. Stuck it out for an 85. Long way to go yet this season.

Kicked it around today as I'm still knocking off a ton of rust but when I looked down at the score card after the round I still managed to shoot an 80.

... Btw, since I am playing the P790's and absolutely love the long irons, I gave my UDi 4 iron to my son and set it up to match his RBZ Tour irons. Dynamic Gold X100's tipped 1" and 3/4" long. After Recoil 95 stiff shafts I think I could drive tent stakes with that thing LOL. He is a big strong 27 yr old but his clubs are like Thor's Hammer.

Fairway wood continues to be the star of the show.  Was hitting ropes off the tee and off the deck.  It was a shorter course so I didn't pull the driver more than 6 or 7 times and hit some really good drives.  Continue to be really impressed with this line of clubs. Looking to see what they can do once I actually get into a groove with my swing
