Popular Post edingc
- 42/52 = 94 / 93 ESC (+22) - 7/15 FIR - 6/18 GIR - 41 Putts (1 4-putt, 5 3-putts, 10 2-putts, 2 1-putts) Uh, yeah. That was an ugly round on the greens, but so good almost everywhere else! I had something like six or seven putts lip-out on me this morning from inside four feet, including two on the four-putt from about three feet. Unreal. Honestly, struck the ball about as well as I have all year again on the front nine, just hit an erratic tee shot on No. 4 and then had a bad luck bounce that led to a double bogey. I played with some new strategy inspired by @edteergolf and really played "boring" golf for me. Hit GIR on No. 7, which almost never happens, after a good drive and hybrid, but then three-putted that hole and the following par three. Was off to a solid start on the back, smashing a driving iron off the tee to put me in great shape in the middle of the fairway with 190 to pin on No. 11. But I pushed a 5-iron right and got knocked down by a tree, and then shanked my wedge even further right leading to my second triple bogey on that hole in as many rounds. Four-putted No. 13 after using Ed's strategy to hit the fairway and then GIR, 3-putted No. 14 after hitting GIR, and then the driver got erratic after being OK until that point. Unplayable lie on No. 15 after a heeled laser into the bank of the water hazard and I hit pretty much the only marked OB on the course on No. 18 with my drive ending up about three yards into the driving range area. It's so weird to be striking the ball so well (for me) and just scoring poorly. Compared to last year (pre-lessons), I'm playing so much more consistent and feel like I'm actually in control of the golf ball. Popular Post downlowkey
Very pleasant walk this morning. First out as a single at 7:30am with my caddy alongside. Hit a nipper SW from 82 yds inside a foot on the opening Par 5 to get in the red immediately. Gave it right back after tugging 3-wood into the left junk on 3. Averaged ~20-foot GIR the rest of the front 9 but couldn’t get any putts to fall. Turned at even par. Roasted a drive up the middle on 10, flagged a GW to 12-feet and then read the putt backwards. Made a nice downhill breaking 15-footer on 11 to get back in the red. Nearly holed a 9-iron on 12, over read the 7-footer. Same situation on 13, read it backwards down the spine. Routine pars on 14 & 15 playing smart to pretty tough hole locations. 16 was set up at 215 into a little breeze today, hit a very solid 4-iron hole high but tugged to the left edge of the green. 35-footer over a crown went off in my hands and rushed ~20-feet past the hole. Just missed the long par putt coming back and earned my first 3 wiggle of the season. Made a nice bounce back downhill breaking 15-footer on 17 to get back to (-1). Just needed a par on 18 to earn a Nat Sherman. Pushed my drive a hair into thick right rough and had 188 to a back hole location. Stock 6-iron should have been enough but for some reason decided it wasn’t at the top of my swing; got quick, lost my posture and muffed it 30 yards short. Nice pitch to 8-feet over a steep ridge running away, over read another putt and finished even par. 5/14 FWY (only two tee shots more than a pace outside Main Street), 14/18 GIR, 31 PUTTS Thoughts for the day: The crew was sanding greens when I showed up this morning - never got comfortable and generally read too much break on a bunch of putts. I _hate_ 3 putting more than just about anything but without looking back at the forensic data, it must have been ~200 holes since the last one. That ain’t too shabby. Still feels like I hit way too many shots inside 15 feet to only have 3 birdies on the card today, but I almost never putt well on sand, and golf is just like that sometimes. I wanted to earn that Nat Sherman and the grind failure on 18 is exactly why I started the under par reward program. Gave it away between the ears, and it put a little knot in my belly. Makes me want to get right back out there and work. I’ll probably cancel my 7:30am slot tomorrow and put in a few hours of purposeful practice instead. Still feel like the luckiest guy ever to be playing so much golf and having a gorgeous looper out there with me every morning. cnosil, sirchunksalot, MaxEntropy and 8 others 10 1 Quote PXG___0811 X 9* - Mitsubishi Diamana s60 Limited X Cobra___S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S Adams___XTD Forged 3i - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S Adams___CMB 4-PW - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S KZG___Tri-Tour 50.08__54.10__58.12 - Accra iCWT 2.0-95i S Nike___Method Converge B1-01 (copper insert) Maxfli___'23 Tour X "The most important shot in golf is the next one“

Was it hard to make the strategy adjustment or were you pretty committed based on past struggles? Definitely a rough time on the greens. Honestly, yes, it feels kind of weird to be hitting an iron on holes that I used to hit driver, which happened on four holes today (7-iron on on No. 5, 5-iron on No. 9, 6-Iron on No. 10 and 6-Iron on No. 13). I'll admit the strategy doesn't come without risk - I hooked the 7-iron on No. 5 and got a lucky bounce back to the fairway, and hit the green from a ways out with my 4 hybrid. I also did not hit ideal shots on No. 10 or No. 13, but I was still in better position than if I had hit a poor drive. The "ah-hah" moment, so to speak, happened on the par 5 No. 9, however. I hit 5-iron instead of driver, didn't catch all of it but landed squarely in the fairway, and thought to myself, "Well, that was stupid." But when I got to my ball, I looked around and realized I was 10-15 yards ahead of where I would have been had I hit my drive left, and only about 10 yards behind where I would have been if I hit my drive right. I had a perfectly clear path for my second shot, which I executed well and left myself about 110 into the hole. Hit a pretty good wedge, and two-putted for a stress-free par. EDIT - Also, in reference to a different aim point strategy, that paid dividends on No. 7. I aimed more right than I usually would and even though I hit my standard shot shape it ended up way better than had I been aiming more left like I had in the past. Changing my aim was not as big of a deal as changing my mindset about driver off the tee. artful_golfer, downlowkey, cksurfdude and 4 others 6 1 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 3.6 / Anti-Cap: 9.9 (Last Updated Sept. 1, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. Popular Post TCUfrog
Played my home course, Heritage Golf Links, this afternoon and shot a 79 which is about where I’m trending right now (77, 78, 80, 81, and 79 my last 5 rounds). Drove the ball well, was striking the mid irons really well. The highlight of the round game on the 8th hole, which is a slight dog leg right, downhill short par 5 that’s all about the drive. I drove it 291 yards down the middle with 172 left to the pin hit 7 iron to back right pin position and landed it about 5 feet left of the pin and spun it back to 10 feet short of the pin and made the putt for Eagle. Reading your post really makes me wish I'd seen the @edteergolf post early enough to take part Sunday evening.... In terms of my round today, I apologise for the long post, but I was more of a lumberjack than a golfer tonight. Literally every shot with the driver contacted a tree tonight. Hole 2 My intention was to start at the tree and have it peel off to the right. Stayed dead straight and hit the tree on the fly. No second shot so a punch to as close to the green as I was comfortable aiming (water left). Hole 4 Again, expecting the ball to peel right. Stayed straight and hit a tree. No choice but to punch out (a crappy punch, at that). Hole 6 So I'm hitting everything straight or perhaps slight pull, so I decided to aim towards the right side to play to my current tendency. So what happens? You guessed it, block it right into a pine tree. Punchy 3w back into play and managed a par. Hole 7 Ok, so the block was my bad, I'll do better this time. Aimed down the middle but pushed a bit. Guess what? It hit a tree. Punched a hybrid and ended up in decent shape. Promptly skulled a SW over the green. Hole 8 DO NOT GO RIGHT ON THIS HOLE, IT'S ALL BAD. So I went back to aiming a little left in case I blocked/pushed again. So what happens? Smoke it, straight pull...into trees. Another 3W punch to keep it low. Even with all the lumber I hit, I managed to scramble for a +9. Strangely, I made it through all 9 with one ball - every tree seemed to just drop my ball straight down so there was no issue finding it. After the round, I sacrificed that ball at the driving range. It had been punished enough. FWIW, I'm still playing Z-Stars. Other than the sticky feeling from the pine tree sap, there were no signs of damage. Very durable ball! sirchunksalot, cnosil, GolfSpy_BNG and 7 others 8 2 Quote Driver: Epic Speed 9* (set -1) MMT 70X 3W: Tour B JGR Recoil 760ES 7W: Epic Flash 19* TourAD (can't remember the exact model) 4H: Tour B JGR 23* Recoil 780ES 5-AW: Tour B JGR HF2 Modus3 Tour 105 54*, 58*: TAIII Black Putter: Scottsdale TR Senita Bag: BigMax Dri Active Lite Ball: TP5x or AVX (yellow) Pushcart: BigMax iQ+ Most Recent Test: Fit For Golf 2.

Maybe better close up of putts? but I’m talking small stuff- your gunna rock the challenge Thanks for the feedback. Yes! I kept forgetting to get better angles on the green. The wind was cranking those days. The clips from owl’s nest really show it, but I was using a GoPro Hero Session I borrowed from a friend. I might upgrade to something with better audio abilities soon since I like taking it on the course and with a small tripod its pretty easy to set down and hit record.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk artful_golfer and cksurfdude 2 Quote Qi10 - Terra Forza White | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8S | G430 3-Hybrid - Kai'li White 80s SMS Pro 4-PW - Steelfiber i110S | MG3 Raw Black 50.09, 54.11, 58.11 - DG TI S200 Mezz Max | Pro V1x | Vortex Blade | Ghost Maverick Black Ops - Forum Edition | CaddyLite EZ v8
Josh Ross
2020 is the year I shoot under par. Before my two year break I shot 72 once and had a couple 74's. Now I'm trying to piece everything back together and so far, so good! Another solid 9 holes today. Shot +1 on a tough course where every green is elevated, tiny, and sloped. Highlight of the day was when a couple waved me through on a 280 yard par 4. I hit 3 wood to the front of the green to leave myself an eagle putt. Barely missed the 12 footer but I'll take the birdie! Always feels good to hit a good one when you're playing through. cksurfdude, daviddvm, artful_golfer and 3 others 6 Quote In my Lux XV Cart Bag: Driver: Cobra RADSPEED XB PTC 10.5° Fairway: Callaway Paradym 3HL 16.5° Utility: Callaway Apex UW 19° 4 Hybrid: Cobra KING LTDx 21° Irons: New Level 480-TC (Thanks to MGS for allowing me to test these!)
