Popular Post Josh Parker
I had a good round this afternoon. Shot a 75 but was on fire the front 9. Started rough with 2 bogies and then 2 birdies and missed the 3rd because of poa right in front of the cup. Birdied number 8 to finish front 1 under. Back 9 was a little different. Shot 4 over and had 2 holes that I just got lazy. Both were just in the rough and under 100 yds and blasted past the green. Happy with the Newton shaft and my game in general. tdroma98, William P, EnderinAZ and 14 others 7 10 Quote Paradym TD Driver w/ Ventus Blue 6S 3W MKII ZX 5's (4-6) w/ KBS Tour V MKII ZX 7's (7-PW) w/ KBS Tour V Vokey Wedges 50* 54* 58* DF2.1 Putter

Popular Post sirchunksalot
It was windy and warm today so me and a couple of guys from work decided to get out and play 9 at Bear Trace. It's a course I can't recall ever scoring well at, but today I did. I shot 53 and felt like my game is starting to come along. We had to wait a bit on the first tee because we had 4 junior golfers in the group ahead of us and I think a couple of them just enjoyed running around on the course. I'm not going to complain, they let us play through on the second hole and as I drove by I asked if they were having fun. They were and to me that's the important thing, I love the fact they were building positive memories on the course. I hit the ball fairly well with woods and irons, my wedges were ok, I need to work more on distance control and learn that if I have a ball sitting up in a fluffy lie to take less loft. I found myself in two bunkers and was able to get out each time. I was also happy about the fact I didn't lose a ball, although I had to retire one due to the cart path. I can't wait to get back out there! BallsLeon, Kenny B, tdroma98 and 12 others 10

I can't wait to get back out there! I remember the milestone of breaking 90 consistently, I do . Why is 90 , 80 and 70 such a big number in our mind ? Im at the place of trying to break 70 occasionally, it can be just as frustrating as well . Especially , when you have a 33 or a 34 only to get on the back side and shoot 39 or 40 . My problem is trying to ease up and not playing with the same tempo , tenacity and dedication to each shot that was exemplified on the front side . As I said in my profile , the part I love about golf is , that it isn’t mastered by anyone and how it relates to our everyday lives . Some days golf just sucks , as in life and other days you feel like you are on top of world . I try to keep that in mind when “ things aren’t going my way “. Besides, we get to play a game that others would love to play but physically can’t or have others reasons . Popular Post tdroma98
Walked 18 holes yesterday morning and when we got to the course, we were informed they were sanding the greens, could not go off before 7am. This past Monday they verticut the greens, which is great. So I decided to play the TaylorMade Tour Response with the yellow/green stripe. A bit firmer than Pro V1. MGS golf ball rating showed the Tour Response Stripe at (91), 2nd to Pro V1 at (93). The ball held up well with sanded greens. However, the ball did show wear after 18 holes. Thought it interesting how I think the Tour Response held up better with sanded greens, than the Titleist Test Ball did, which I tested back in December with regular non-sanded greens. Not a clear shot but TM logo was good, not worn. The sand used was green sand. Greens were rolled, watered & rolled nicely with sanded greens. There were clumps of sand, which did impact the balls keeping on line. This photo below shows the ball did get a bit beat up by the greens & also being in two greenside bunkers. Not a normal wear after 18 holes. The photo below is the other side of the ball from above. You can see how the dimples are worn and dull all over the ball. Overall, I was very impressed with the ball's reaction on the sanded greens. Even spun the ball about 6ft, off the green into a bunker on a Par 3. You couldn't beat yourself up over putting. While the ball did roll nicely most of the time, the sand did impact the roll of the ball. Surprised by the good scoring, I shot 1 under on the front, but did shoot two over on the back. I'm going to keep a couple of Tour Response golf balls in my bag. Matter of fact, one of the reasons I opted to use the Tour Response, I felt using a Pro V1 on sanded greens would result in ball kind of deadening when hitting the green, with a softer shell. I wanted to play a firmer ball. It was between the OnCore Vero X1 & Tour Response Stripe. Went with the TR Stripe. I could tell with a couple of chips the Tour Response ball released and didn't grab as quickly as a Pro V. Surprised how the Tour Response ball spun on the green. I'm sure the sand contributed to that as well. Popular Post Rob Person
Got 18 in today after car duty. The course was packed! My buddies and I had a fun day! Had some yips around approach shots and the greenside chips. Drives were pretty decent though. The baseball grip was epic off the box and in the fairway. Launched my 3w and 5w the best I ever have! Only had 1 issue today, the group behind us!. They kept hitting into us. Like really close! We couldn't let them play through as there were at least 3 groups in front of us. Waiting for the green to clear, One of the balls ricocheted off my buddies cart, bounces off and lands in a real mucky edge of the water we were parked next to. We get up on the green, putt, and as we were walking off, we watch the guy reach down for his ball, and falls into the muck. Syks7
Had a very weird day for my first tournament of the year. Harding continues to be a golf course that causes me issues. 44/44 93. My last three rounds at Harding have been 91, 97, 93. Maybe it just doesn't fit my game or its gotten into my head. First time all year that I haven't been able to hold onto my goal of having fun. Lots of frustration, some bad luck, and a few silly mental mistakes. 49/44 93. The good news is that I can identify every stroke that I gave away and 90% of it was not being able to string a good tee shot and approach shot together. I'd either hit a great tee shot then a terrible approach shot followed by a third onto the green or I'd grossly mishit a tee shot, hit a good recovery, then hit the green with the third. It was intensely frustrating capped off by a wildly inconsistent day on the greens (partially because of wildly inconsistent greens with though pin positions). Green speed varied wildly from one hole to the next. It did not help that I was trying to one-putt most of them. Venting aside, most of my issue was the pressuring myself to hit a good shot. Something I've been very good at avoiding this year. When I remembered to relax I was fine, when I was too worried about the shot or putt I didn't. Too much going on in my head and not playing loose. It was a very distinct contrast to how I've been playing lately... relaxed with confidence and an attitude that sometimes I'll hit bad shots. If I can the solution is probably to make myself step off the ball when I'm thinking too much or feeling too much pressure. I also need to focus on the positive. I made some great putts, and hit a lot of very good shots. I just lost sight of that in my frustration. I was feeling a little down after the round, so I went and saw Dune 2 and it was awesome. So at least there was that. Popular Post Paul Hedrick
After nearly 2 months (1/5/24), I was able to play a round of golf on Thursday (2/29/24). My schedule and the weather have not been kind to my golf game. Anyway, I knew it would be ugly, and tried to keep that in mind. So, yes, my game was not optimal. However it was not as bad as I feared it would be. My driving was the worst part on that day, but my short game saved the day from a complete disaster. Honestly I was just so happy to be on the course, I hardly cussed at all..... Jodrell
Another 9 on my recovering ankle out of the way. Shot 40 on a par 33 which is not great, but doing it with a quadruple bogey on the card does make it feel like an improvement, and the pair of birdies show that. Still striking the ball really well with my irons. Really need to improve around the green though Rob Person, cnosil, cksurfdude and 3 others 6 Quote WitB (not sure how I ended up with a complete bag…it wasn’t deliberate Stealth 2 Driver (HZRDUS Smoke Red shaft) Stealth 2+ 5 Wood (with a 3-wood length HZRDUS Smoke Black shaft) P790 (4-5) P770 (6-PW) irons MG4 52º & 60º (C-Grind) Wedges MG3 Black 56º Wedge MySpider Tour putter in McLaren F1 Colours TP5 Pix balls
Jim Shaw
Good morning spy's, Scored well yesterday 73, tied for 1st in the "breakfast club" at my home club, but didn't play well, probably had 4 out of 5 up and downs, and sunk 2 long putts for birdie that kept me in the game. Hit a great 200 yd. second shot into a long par 4, and a beautiful bunker shot to 2 inches on 15 to keep the round going, but have some work to do off the tee and approach shots. Something to work on this coming week. MattF, William P, Rob Person and 5 others 7 1 Quote committed to performance excellence
Popular Post BallsLeon
Far from my best work today, but ended up having a lot of fun. Played Winterstone from the red tees (Par 72, 6234yds, 70.6/131) with two guys from Minneapolis. They came down to KC on vacation to play public courses which I thought was pretty cool. Weather was the perfect temp, but super windy with averages around 20mph and gusts of 30-40mph. Was a tough scene and I ultimately ended up stop keeping score. Drove the ball super well for me today, but the rest of my game was a struggle; either sending it long or a shank. Still had a lot of fun, happy with my driver after tipping, and glad I met those two guys.
