Popular Post GolfSpy_APH
Played a course for the second time yesterday. It is an alpine course that isn't too long, but has a lot of challenges in terms of slopes and OB on a lot of holes. It has fairways that cross each other, water on plenty of holes and height variations that make it a very challenging course. The first time around I played okay, but a struggling driver lead to a woeful score of 93. New driver in hand, renewed confidence and some course knowledge I was ready to take on the course again and put up a solid score. The first hole was a disaster triple on a par 3. Couldn't help but laugh it off and move on. Which worked as I got a birdie! However today was not the day to go low as for the first time in forever my putting was just awful. My most reliable skill golfing turned to a struggle on every hole. We tee'd off early morning and the pace of the greens dramatically changed as they were super wet and slow to start and as they dried off the speed made such a climb and I wasn't able to adjust. On holes 9,10, 12,16,17,18 I was on the green in reg and left with longer ish putts, but ones I was comfortable with and ended up with bogies. It was just annoying more than anything. So with a good 6 shots dropped there and my triple on 1 I still managed to shoot 82 on a par 71. Had two nice birdies on 2 and 11 to salvage the round. As a whole I was happy. I had a ton of fun and felt like I got some redemption on the course from my first time. I had good drives, didn't loose a ball all round for the second time in the last 3 rounds and for the most part managed my distances well with my irons. I do need to work on par 3s and simply just getting on the green, but it is good to feel as though things are turning around and the confidence is growing. Here are some photos from the day/course. MaxEntropy
Got out Saturday with @DiscipleofPenick. It was a beautiful day and the course was in great shape, but there are getting to be too many leaves. We played a pretty liberal version of the leaf rule, so my score doesn't really have much meaning (I think I lost 5-6 balls we should have been able to find). I struggled with driver pretty badly. Way too many push fades. Case in point on 18. Red line was my intended target. Yellow line was pretty close to actual start line. The ball ended up in the bunker. I know exactly what that means in relation to path and face angle, I just had no clue what adjustments to make. In reality, I still don't. I just hope when I play tomorrow, the swing is subtly different (as tends to happen) so it stops. If anyone wants to suggest some easy tweaks to try, I'm all for it. The one time I hit it straight, it was dead at my target of a big tree. It hit the tree solid and it must have vaporized because we never found it. I felt like chipping was terrible, but Arccos doesn't necessarily agree with me. Maybe it's because my chipping has been really good recently so my expectations were getting too high? We had some decent wind Saturday and for the first time I recall, the Arccos "plays like" distance was way, way wrong and I flew a couple greens by 20-30 yards. The winds were swirling a bit so maybe I picked the exact wrong time to hit the ball solid? JerryB
Walked River Heights alone today. Another great fall day, a little chilly to start but warmed up nicely. Still breezy but not as bad as yesterday. Started out pretty strong. Driver was great on the front nine. Irons and wedges were solid although wayward. Shorter clubs were going right to left and any time I tried to compensate they just went straight, and therefore right of target. Fell apart a bit on the back nine. Lost a few balls on poor tee shots and on an absolute shank of an 8 iron approach shot. Overall putting wasn't terrible but still plenty of room for improvement. Leaves were a factor. I teed off on one hole with a Srixon Soft Feel and somehow putted with a Q Star. Honestly not sure whether the switch happened on my long iron or wedge shot. Lots of putts looked like this or worse: Overall I was very happy with my round, a 43/50 93 (+21). cksurfdude, Kenny B, MattF and 4 others 6 1 Quote Cobra Aerojet Max driver Cobra Aerojet Max 3 wood and 7 wood Cobra Aerojet 4/5/6 hybrids Cobra Aerojet 7-PW, GW Cobra Snakebite 52° and 58° wedges Cobra King Stingray 20 putter

EasyPutter
Caz GC 10.24.2022 and another round of 2 parts, again 1-4 were like the warmup holes and 5-9 was the main event. Triple on 1 could have been much worse as driver just wasn't working, neither was fairway hybrid and irons took over getting onto the green and 2 puts stopped the counter climbing. Double, single, double, single, double, single, single, double - sounds more like lyrics for a dance song than golf I want to be playing at +3 for the day. Decided I am considering it a warmup for the next rounds that will be main event for MGS Forum Tour week 5 entry. 5th fairway approach to the elevated green on the right side of the photo between my playing partners. The tree an excellent sunblock to pan back to the fairway in the opposite direction on the left and the colorful trees bordering this par-5 that I did reach with a chip on in 4 (lag putt just missed the cup...) 73*F at tee time, this is late summer weather and it is supposed to be around here all week until Friday when temps are supposed to dip after a wet Thursday. Short game was ok as I got a good solid 30 minute warm up on that. I was keeping score for a time, but that fell off quickly as I just tried to see what I can learn. Popular Post MattWillGolf
Back out for a quick 9 after some time off to heal up my wonky back. It was a good driver day. I hit 5 fairway of 7 fairways. One of the fairways missed, I drove it through a dogleg not the rough and with all the leaves down, it led to a lost ball. My wedge game as pretty darn good and only one 3 putt. Everything in between was as mess. I have a case of the “tops” with my irons. Really struggled with the those today. I was able to finish par, bogey on the last two holes. ejgaudette, MattF, cksurfdude and 7 others 10 Quote CB-P226 Hoofer Cart Bag 0311 Black Ops 8° w/Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60 0311 XF 3 wood 16° w/Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 0211 19° Hybrid w/Project X Even Flow Riptide G410 Crossover 4 w/Mitsubishi Tensei Blue Paradym X 6 - GW w/True Temper Elevate MPH Official Forum Test SM9 54°/12° D and 58°/12° D w/KBS Tour 110 ER11v 34” Evnroll ER11v Official Forum Test Shot Scope Pro LX+ Pro LX+ Official Forum Test MTB prime 3.5+

Double bogied 18 after pushing my driver into the woods on the right side of the fairway to add two unwanted strokes.. I normally draw my shots so I aimed right side of fairway and the sucker didn't draw...... Anyways my experiment with the SGI Halo irons is soooooo much fun. Life is a circle… I remember a few years ago you reviewed an older version of these irons.
