I was at the Open Wednesday and today ( Thursday). I know one of the greens keepers that was brought in for the tournment and he said the greens were rolling to a 14. No matter how good the shots

I was at the Open Wednesday and today ( Thursday).

I know one of the greens keepers that was brought in for the tournment and he said the greens were rolling to a 14. No matter how good the shots were the landing area is so small in order for the ball to stay on the green.

The fairway landing area for us average guys were large but for the Pro's the fairways necked down to less than half the size once you got out past 250 yards. But the play out of the crap from most of them was amazing. 180 yards out in the crap and they were plopping the ball on the green. Didn't always stay on though. 

Looks like a rough couple of days ahead. I don't anticipate low scores.

apparently they started watering the greens today to control some of the speed and try to keep them from dying.

With that being said, I'm sure caddies are working around the clock tonight to make adjustments before the cut.. Should be an interesting day tomorrow
