... I know many are drawn to guitar gymnastics but I really love subtle acoustic guitar solos like these two. My son and I were at this Leo Kottke concert in Woodstock Il:

Another guy just came to mind... Phil Keaggy from Glass Harp. Incredible player!

If i remember correctly he was big in contemporary christian music.  Wasnt he missing a finger or something like that which made his playing ability even more impressive.

Sonny Landreth.... great slide player. I'm not sure if I missed the mention of SRV, but I will now...lol, along with Buddy Guy.

Here’s another guitarist that is massively underrated — Jerry Cortez, who is both a solo artist and has been the guitarist for Tower of Power for the last 14 years.

I’m a Rick Beato guy too.  Love him.  There’s another YT channel,called Capo Fresh that does album and band reviews.  You might check it.

Ive been to 3 of the Crossroads Festivals including the first at the Cotton Bowl in  Dallas in 2003 when 65 players and bands did 3 days.  Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday.  John Mayer was a headliner on Saturday night in Dallas at the first one.  He’s been a regular ever since and is recognized as one of the best.  He’ll be in the mix at Crossroads in LA this year too.

About 75% of the audience had attended seminars earlier in the day and they all had the guitar cases with them siting in the audience, maybe 150 seats. But just one at a time playing a couple finger pickin' tunes, nothing like Crossroads! 

* I had 3 Crossroad Festivals on my DVR and lost them all when I moved to Phoenix.

The first Crossroads was absolutely mind boggling.  Friday night and Saturday they had a smaller outdoor stage in the courtyard at the Cotton Bowl and inside the StateFair hall, adjacent they had booths set up with mini stages and had players doing clinics and talks…Lightning Hopkins, Sonny Landreth, Orianthe, John McLaughlin, Pat Methene, Steve Cropper, Neil Schoen we’re all part of the clinics.  Friday night stage was mostly Blues and was not the headliners, probably the biggest name was Johnny Lang.  Saturday was Dan Timinski, Ron Block, Jerry Douglas, Eric Johnson,  Skunk Baxter, Marty Stuart,  JJ Cale with Clapton, John Mayer, David Hidalgo, and others, the headliners on Saturday Night were (together) Hubert Sumlin, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Vaughn, Robert Cray, Robert Randolph and EC.  
Sunday had two stages and started with Neil Schoen doing the Hendrix Woodstock version of the Star Spangled Banner he was followed by Steve Vai, Larry Carlton, Sonny Landreth, JohnMcLaughlin, Robert Cray, Booker T and the MGS, James Taylor, Joe Walsh, BB King, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Vaughn, Vince Gill, Jerry Douglas, Santana, Jeff Beck, ZZ Top and Clapton, I am sure I missed someone along the way.

Although I own none of their albums," Foreigner- Rocking the Ryman" on Utube has provided endless hours of entertainment for quite a few years now.  Every song is a hit, and the production qualities of the music and vocals are excellent.  A close second would be "Dan Fogelberg live at the Capitol Theatre", also on Utube.
