My stance on pro athletes for all sports is I want to watch those who do super human things. I don't like Spieth because he doesn't do anything amazing, just a lot of things very well.

 

Is he really good? Sure. But there's zero entertainment factor for me. Thus I'll never cheer for him.

 

He's golf's cross between Tim Duncan (boring but strong fundamentals) and Tim Tebow (gee willakers look how wholesome I am)

Really? The guy is the best iron player in the world. A world that has some exceptional golfers in it.

 

I have no problem with someone liking or disliking or being meh on any player. We're all different so we are going to prefer different players and personalities.

 

But to say that Jordan Spieth isn't an amazing iron player is to say that the rest of the guys on tour stink.

Wait... what? You mean amazing like holing out from a bunker to win a tournament? Like he did a few weeks ago? For the second time! The guys drops bombs on the putting green like nobody's business and his short game in general is next level. Watch more Spieth!

You know what someone with super human skills would've done? Not hit it in the bunker 2 times in a row.

 

Holing out from the bunker does require some skill, but I consider luck to be a major player in that equation.

What Florida do you guys live in? I live on the West Coast with my course a mile away from the Gulf. There is almost never a day where it's 70 and no wind.

 

I don't mind differences of opinion. In fact I like the differences but could we at least ground them in fact rather than urban myth or hyperbole? He tournament in my neck of the woods had a winning score that was not in double digits under par.

 

Back to the action it's an intriguing tournament. The difference between this and Erin Hills is we have lots of the top players on the leader board rather than watching from home with MC next to their names. Despite all the lie rounds the lead isn't at double figures either. It may be at the end of the day but it's not half way through the third round.

 

Erin Hills didn't work as a major venue where Augusta and Birkdale have multiple times.

Sadly I'm going to miss the back nine. I'm thinking of recording it.
