With the PGA show ongoing, the blog has been very busy this week. There's no threads on these yet so I thought it might be useful to lump them together in one so the conversation can continue:

Ernie Els signs with XXIO (and Cleveland/Srixon)

I thought this was an interesting one. Rumors were out there and now it's confirmed. Ernie won't compete on tour but he's still a fantastic face of your product. I would've liked for him to find a way to squeeze at least one XXIO club into his bag though, I mean how much could it hurt at #587?

First Look – Vega Alcor Tour Adjustable Sole Wedge

Not 100% how I feel about this one. It reminds me of the TM wedge from a few years back with the replaceable face. As clubs get more and more adjustable, I definitely see application to adjust wedges to different courses but would need to see it in action to determine how it's executed. At nearly $500 per wedge for the total package, I'm having a hard time figuring out who the target market would be.

Know Your Letter. Hit Your Number. – Vokey SM7 Wedges

I can appreciate the fact that they're emphasizing proper fit for wedges, but it doesn't seem like this is really anything new besides the "D" grind. Even still, these are gorgeous pieces of metal.

Titleist Announces New Tour Soft and Velocity Golf Balls

Call me crazy but this segment of balls always feel harder to me than anything else. Must be the cover.

This one could use a gratuitous picture thread because that's the closest I'll ever get to owning a Miura.

2018 Odyssey Putters: A Massive Number of Mallets for the Masses

37 putters on the market is indeed massive. Oddly enough, I'm cool with it. If you boil it down, it's just a handful of putters with a variety of finishes and necks. I love that. I could totally see Odyssey displays dominating retail store floors and moving massive amounts of product.

Tack these onto the already huge list. I love the look. But as we all know, looks don't make the bacon. They remind me of skeletons (which I guess is the point).

A New Material Changes the Ball that Changed the Ball

Graphene. Bring it on! Although color me skeptical until I see data on it. This better be a breakthrough for them to step away from the bottled lightning they JUST caught with the ChromeSoft.

Definitly a lot going on this week. And let me just add our Forum Director GolfSpy_Barbajo deserves a big shout out.  He is playing when he should be on the injured list.  He is not feeling well at all this week and yet this is his second trade show in two cities, Chicago  for his day job earlier this week.   Yet he still pumped out some great content and was walking the PGA Show Floor in full mode today!!

How'd he hurt his shoulder? Writing a crap-ton of articles? I think Tony did most of them anyway but still. It's plain to see this is a busy week for golf information and is only going to keep flowing all the way through the Master's.

Out of all these articles, the one about those adjustable bounce wedges was the most intriguing. This product may just be really early to the game but I can see some clubs going that way in the future. If nothing else, it can be useful for fitting.

I have tested the new Chrome Soft X and I didn't like it. But those Miura MC 501 are amazing. I want a set so bad. The Vega wedges are very intriguing being able to change the sole based on the course conditions would be very cool.
