Just out of curiosity, what was the final numbers on the poll, and what is the information going to used for? Maybe an upgraded app?

The numbers indicate an almost 50/50 split. We're looking at options with the app; trying to find an app that plays well with the new features on the forum.

I use TapaTalk 80% of the time. The normal website the other 20%.

I use the app on my phone 100% of the time. Very fast network, very fast phone however the site loads so slooowly. Any way to speed this puppy up?

A little late to the poll but have primary used Tapatalk on mobile. I only fire up the laptop(s) when absolutely have to.

I used to be an app guy but went to mobile a few months ago. The app was too buggy and if your not careful can easily miss things that are going on. With mobile you have access to everything and can still sort by recently updated topics.

I mostly use the mobile browser on my phone. I had to move to Adblocker browser due to the ads that were taking up some of the posts and made reading a pain sometimes. I used to use the app exclusively, but since it didn't have some of the features  of the mobile version, I moved to reading on the browser.

I’ve been mostly using the web browser version lately. I’d prefer Tapatalk or an app for the notifications (but they have been 30-40 minutes delayed lately) and only allow one photo upload at a time.

I use the app 95% of the time. The only time I go through the website is to read articles and ball labs.

It's a big disappointment that the testing opportunities don't appear in the forum main feed anymore. Maybe I'm in the minority but that's how I find out about them.

It’s been removed along with tapatalk. They sent an email out today about it

Can you post the email here?  For some reason I haven't been receiving MGS emails lately either.

We wanted to alert you all that the MGS App is no longer a valid way to access the forums.

We were in the process of shuttering the app, as it's no longer supported, however a mistake was made and it was taken down before we had a chance to alert all the users. I personally apologize for the hiccup in service and lack of communication to all the app users out there. I know many of you were dedicated fans of the App and with recent features implemented on the site and more to come, the lack of support and functionality became to glaring of an issue to reconcile.

The good news is that you can still access the forums via the web URL on any device - phone, tablet, desktop, laptop, refrigerator, tv, coffee maker...pretty much anything with an internet connection!

Yup, got the same message.  I had to have a crash learning curve but I’m OK with the update even though there were a few features I will miss.

Never got the email. We live in an app driven world now, I find this step backwards very disappointing.

I thought the same thing before I switched over to mobile. Since the switch I couldn’t fathom going back to an app. Every feature available on the computer is available on mobile. The same can not be said for the app. I’m not even sure you can sign up to test equipment from the app.

No need for an app when you have a fully functional mobile site.

I used the app exclusively till my first testing opportunity and tried the mobile version and have never looked back. Mobile version ran way better, had more features and was just was easy to navigate. I wish I had found it sooner so although it is too bad there isn't a app the mobile site was at least in my opinion a much better way to use the forum and maybe sometime down the line we will see a new app, but I wouldn't rank it as a priority.

Yes, there was no testing section on the app, that was my first clue that something might be changing.  I'm completely guessing here but I think the app was probably not worth the expense of keeping it up to date and the full mobile site renders the app somewhat of an extra expense. I liked the app but I don't think I will miss it since there is full functionality on the mobile site. 

 

This makes the second service I use that has dropped its app in the last month!

If I’m typing more than a few thoughts I will switch over to my laptop but browsing and quick responses I will use my phone. Mobile browser is surprisingly less clunky than I anticipated but still not as easy as keeping it up in a tab while on my laptop.
