Hope everyone had safe and uneventful travels to and home.... We had a great weekend as well! Got to go to the US Women's Open on Saturday, was incredible! It was a pleasure to see Asterisk play: the future of women's golf looks quite bright indeed! We had never been to an event before, and it took a little getting used to the ebb and flow of the galleries. We followed for a little bit, then found the perfect spot in the grandstands on the 18th hole: had perfect views of the 14th green, the 15th tee box and the 18th green. It was a great way to finish the event and a fantastic way to culminate a spectacular day! Plus, got a great sunburn to start the summer off! Sunday, was able to get in 18, so the weekend was golf filled and most enjoyable! Hope everyone else was able to get some golf into the weekend as well! Bittersweet for sure, but ready for the next chapter in life, and not having to leave home for 9mo at a time with 2 little ones definitely makes it a little sweeter. A fantastic weekend for sure though! VA is officially in full swing for the summer, and with it the mosquitos have come with it, much to my dismay. No matter what, I constantly get eaten up by the mosquitos, and it doesn't help my area has the small, aggressive Asian Tiger Mosquitos, AKA Day Bitters. Joy!! Got eaten up mowing the lawn and taking down a couple trees in my back yard. Time to hibernate in the AC until October. Friday was able to hit a quick 9 after work, another sub 2 putts per hole round which is great, and my first birdie in quite some time! Dont remember the last birdie I made! Still loving the DF3, putting really does feel automatic inside 8ft, and outside 10ft, my miss is definitely distance control. Felt great to sleep in my own bed and get a good night's rest. Going to be a busy work week, but hoping I can sneak out after work some days to get some range practice in. A weekend without golf and I'm going through withdrawals... I was happy to see Robert MacIntyre get the win last night with his dad on the bag. It's a great story and it's always better to see someone earn a win rather than collapse and hand it to someone else. It's officially June so I can start getting excited about my two big trips at the end of the month to Arcadia Bluffs and Erin Hills. Not trying to wish any part of summer away, but these next few weeks are going to drag with anticipation. Going to keep myself busy with practice and some local rounds to prepare myself for those beastly courses. I hope everyone has a great start to their week! So I played 3 balls per hole for 9 holes and called it a day. I really enjoy practicing like that, especially around the green. Might make today's Wild Bunch round another money winner. Summer is here, period..... Depending on which weather site I visit we shall see up to 113 degrees by Thursday. Fortunately, I was able to finish the Mini-split install before the rain commenced yesterday and the garage/shop is once again climate controlled to a degree. No golf for two weeks now and withdrawals are beginning to get unbearable... Hopefully, this can be rectified later this week, although rain is forecast every day except Wednesday. Popular Post jbern Posted June 3 Popular Post Share Posted June 3 Good morning! I had a nice weekend visiting with a lot of family. We hosted a garage sale on Friday evening and Saturday morning. I thought it was going to be torture, but it was fun to meet new people and neighborhood acquaintances that we don't get to see often! We even made a little money. When I suggested to SWMBO that it would make for good golf spending money she gave me a look equivalent to the middle finger, so I don't think I'm getting any of the proceeds. Yesterday, my brother and I went to a course that we played a lot when I was young, but haven't played in 15+ years. The weather was great, but it was a mediocre round where the company was better than the golf being played. I am happy to report that my rib felt perfectly fine, so I'm good to get out and golf as much as I can. Have a good day everyone! @Preeway - Have fun at Bandon Dunes! That's going to be awesome!
