Good morning again spies just sitting here reminiscing about the Wyoming Open the past 3 days and my first time caddying experience. I didn't realize how much a caddy does. I looked at the course differently than I ever have, looked at greens differently, and really learned about shot selection. I guess when you step away as a player and instead help guide a player you see things differently. Thank goodness it was my home course because I know just about everything about it. That helped me guide my player. Read every break correctly, saved him from hitting the wrong shot, and saved him from the wrong club several times. To have him finish in the money and shooting the 2 lowest round in his flight was icing on the cake. It was a very fulfilling experience and one I look forward to doing again. But I think next year I will compete in it. Now I just need to find me a caddy...

Thank you. Testors model paint to fill with a very fine brush. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and then rubbing alcohol on a q-tip with a ton of patience to clean up the excess. Truth be told, it went a lot smoother than I expected it to. The machining on the back provided a challenge but that’s where the patience came in handy.

Good Morning Spies! Another Monday is upon us!

No golf this weekend with Virginia Beach getting hammered with storms almost all of last week. A hot couple of days then more storms to come! 

In other news, planning a golf trip with a military buddy of mine stationed in Maryland, think we're gonna meet up in Richmond for a weekend of golf. One course Saturday and another on Sunday. Most likely Brickshire and Royal new Kent! Ready to get humbled. 

Need to work on getting out to the driving range more to keep working on the swing. Still hoping to get a full bag fitting at the end of the season. Almost have my full budget saved up, which is nice.

Parting shots! Got a yellow sharpie this weekend to match my LAB DF3 Headcover to my "Money Maker" green DF3. Also got the "Vizualize" alignment tool for making balls, I think they came out pretty good!

Yes, those markings came out great!

Good morning spies! A haboob warning came across our phones last night about 8. A haboob is what they call a dust storm down here in the heat. I went out about 9 and yeah the air was full of red dust. The rain missed us which is okay. If it just rains a little it turns to mud and you have to wash the car. 

Got out yesterday for my Sunday 18 on an empty course. I started on 10 and did see one other golfer on the front, and yeah it was hot and pretty humid. The great thing about these rounds is I can practice. If I don't like the results of a shot, I just drop a ball and try again. In this way I am learning to really work the ball into the greens. Now if they would only MOW the greens....

Good morning Spies,

I was up early for my morning cuppa or two and a quick 9. I’m slowly seeing the changes to my swing from my lesson last week starting to pay dividends. I just need to stick with it and the drills to really make them stick. Slices are approaching fades and seeing the occasional draw appear in my game. After golf I got out for an easy 2 mile run before the heat advisory takes effect today.

Good Monday morning!

Back at work after 1.5 weeks off, let’s just say it was rough!  Still getting through all of the emails…ugh!

Good news, the AC is working again and keeping the upstairs cool…just in time for the upper 90’s we will have the next couple days.

We had our AC unit stop working last week with 100* weather outside, it was not a fun week... Luckily, we are back up and running now and the house is a cool 70* now!

 

Today is the day I have been waiting 4 (really 10) years for, EA NCAA Football 25 is releasing! I'm working hard to get my work all done early today so I can play it for a few hours haha! I feel just like a kid again! 

 

Also, my intro for the Sub70 Pro V2 Fairway wood is up, go check it out!

Good Monday morning Spies!

Going to be a hot one for the next few days with temps getting back over the century mark and heat index in the 105 -110 range... Start my volunteer duties at the course tomorrow afternoon in the heat of the day so be packing the cooler with plenty of fluids.

Planning on taking the Jailbird with me tomorrow and hitting the putting green for a maiden session after shift is completed.

@GolfSpy_APH and the staff have certainly kept it interesting with testing opportunities to this point and Jamie is stirring the pot again so sounds like it's going to be an awesome peak of summer testing period!

Good morning spy's

played yesterday, the 1st. time in a couple of weeks, 10 fairways, 5 greens, 27 putts shot 78. Back at it again today. 

My final review is up on my main site on Takomo long game site, my pictures didn't transfer however I believe their is some insight in the verbage you may be interested in.

I look forward to a solid week of golf and watching the Open championship...

Good afternoon spies!

Happy Monday to everyone and hoping you get time to play some. Went and played an old course that I used to haunt back when I started playing (I was 36 then) and it was really great. Forgot how much I liked that little 9 hole course and how many memories were made there. Fun times.

Today is National Get Out of the Doghouse Day - was thinking of @Dead Solid Bogey for this one today. He may be able to leave the Dark Kingdom for a few hours provided he kisses the ring appropriately. For the rest of us, it may take more work (myself included).

Seems my handicap keeps creeping up…. so maybe I’ll go back to my old swing method of just smacking it.

Good "late morning/early afternoon" fellow spies....Knew I was going to "Round-up" some weeds this morning - done; Empty the dishwasher/reload  for the missus - done; get a text from a friend saying - want to join us for a 4pm tee time at a local course - oh, yeah.  He had gifted me with a vintage MacGregor bag a while back that I keep the Toney Penna persimmons, MacGregor Souchak irons in - so today I will be playing "vintage clubs" while giving the ClawDaddy Pro Grey gloves a run for the money (shame plug and link here: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/65024-caddydaddy-claw-2024-forum-member-review/ ).   I will be updating how the gloves did there as well as how the play went in the What/How Did You Practice thread (link here: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/17157-whathow-did-you-practice-today/ ).  Here's a quick photo of the clubs in play:

Good Morning everyone!!  Hope you are having a truly marvelous Monday!!  Sorry for being MIA, but just haven’t had time to check in.  

My wife and I played early on Saturday and Sunday before it got over 100º.  Our course raised the mowing height of greens… again, I think, to help save them from the hot, dry weather… over 100 for the past 10 days and forecasted for at least the next 10 days.  As a result, on Saturday I had FIVE 3-putts and shot 84; not good when combined with my poor driver performance.

On Sunday we played with two ladies whose husbands were playing in a Men’s Club tournament (they finished DFL).  The good news is I hit my driver better and only 3-putted once.  The bad news is that my wife beat me!!!    I shot 82, but as some of you know, she can play!!  She had a great round of 80, but was disappointed that she didn’t shoot her first sub-80 round; she mad bogey from the bunker of the par 5 #18.

Hey everyone! Kicking off another week with lots going on at home, work, and its The Open week to boot. Looking forward to it. Great finish to the Scottish Open yesterday. Missed it because we lost power here at the snoopy household after bad storms came through.

Back up and running now though. This week my mom is in town to visit, my son starts his first job, big meetings at work, and of course my continual obsession with perfecting my golf game

My BIL moved from here to Surprise AZ about 6 years ago.  Yesterday he came for a visit to get out of the heat… only 104º here!!  

In 2012 while playing in Palm Springs, we had a mini-haboob arrive that wiped out the Humana Challenge, the American Express tournament now.  

 

We were on the last hole and barely finished before the dust hit us.  A tumbleweed rolled up my wife’s back as she was teeing off!!

Landed in Charlotte and got through customs without incident. LPGA player Angela Stanford was also on the flight, returning from the Evian tournament where she finished T-26. No I didn't recognize her but the name embroidered on her backpack gave her away. We retrieved our clubs at the same time. She is a past Evian winner and according to Golfweek this weekend was her last LPGA major.

Flight to the Casa is delayed about a half hour but I am not anticipating any further issues unless severe weather crops up.

Also, I got an update on Saturday's tournament at Brora. One of my partners finished second, so having me around (and keeping his score) wasn't a jinx. I didn't play quite that well. I finished 113th. But it wasn't DFL.

@Kenny B please tell Martha "Congratulations" for besting your score, and as she has now come close, she will break the 80 number in the very short future.

Good morning Spys!

I got out last evening for a round and shot a 84 again. Things are starting to work for me. I just have to clean up a few mistakes and will hopefully be breaking 80 soon. I plan on playing again this evening and the Temps will be 101 for a high. I really like playing when it is nearly unbearable or raining or just about any other adverse conditions. It opens up the course and i feel like if i make a bad shot i will drop another ball and sometimes try a different approach to the shot i was trying to make. 

Hit them strait guys and stay hydrated!

Good morning MGSpies from a streetlights just turning off downtown Buffalo outside the office where Odesza's A Moment Apart on Pandora and coffee in the mug is setting a calming mood before the workday in the office.  Golf tournament yesterday got in 12 holes before the approaching weather had the course sound a siren recalling the field to the pre-planned shelters briefed at the start, and we nearly made it before the downpour swept in.

The better part of an hour passed before we could escape to load clubs into vehicles and get to the clubhouse for dinner and the conclusion of the event. Significant tree damage to Alden NY on the drive halfway to home was being cleared as @Marc Threeput and I passed through.  In all a good day with @The1C3man and our old playing group reunited for the day in our customary attire

with 117 others for what started as a hot muggy summer day.  Thought about those traveling and in other activities while my day unfolded and glad to know everything went well.  Hope golf is part of your day
