MyGolfSpouse has a procedure on Wednesday that will leave her needing sunglasses so nobody hunts me down thinking I did her wrong  something genetic with the eyelids that corrected will improve her peripheral vision, outpatient and I'm not invited, but I will be back from the WNY MGS MG meetup in time to take over from MIL for the aftercare that I understand is lots of cold compresses and taking care of the corgis for many days.  And that is why she is MyGolfSpouse (most of the time) 

Best wishes for a successful procedure and speedy recovery for the Mrs., alias "MyGolfSpouse."

Well we havnt had rain in about a month, but that means plenty of rollout for driver hits.  Hoooooahhhhh. Great timing for my driving to show back up to the party. Ignore the scores I wasn’t tracking putting.  These were drives of mine we ended up using.  So the distance is accurate.  Just not the score.

Hope everything goes smoothly and there is a speedy recovery. 

More of the typical grind here. Looks like we will have good weather, but carving out the time for real golf is difficult. We (my wife and our friend group) do have our weekly group lesson on Wednesday and I think we'll play a few holes as a scramble with one of the coaches. That'll have to be enough to feed the golf appetite.

Good luck with the brides surgery.  Yes the recovery/rehab will take time but it’s worth it.

Just saw a pic on CNN website of serious flooding about 12 miles from the Casa. They're calling it a one-in-1000-years rain event; 18 inches of rain in 12 hours at Carolina Beach. According to NWS, we got about 3.6 inches at the Casa.

if you want to ball hunt, I would suggest wearing long pants, the briars can be pretty mean.  

To be completely fair, if I don’t have some form of scratch after playing I didn’t look hard enough. With that said, I’m playing it by the weather on if I should wear pants or not. Played when it rained 15 of the 18 holes in Florida once but wore shorts. That wasn’t fun

Excuse me for asking. How do you manage to maintain an 18 handicap, while consistently hitting drives just under 300 yards?

Because I didn’t post the two that I topped 100yds into the water.

had a few in the 230 - 250 range.  Power isn’t everything but it helps lol.  Also this was an above average driving day for me.  I can poke it out there, on average I do not maintain that.

 

also I can’t putt for s***.  Had a 45 last league round…. With 22 putts.

Though to be fair I’ve never hit a 300yd drive till this year.  I’ve had probably 20 or so drives 270 or higher this season. 
 

I did do speed training and that really did help.

consistency is always the name of the game in this sport 100%.

Gotta say.... Everytime I drive an 18 wheel truck though the 'tunnel' in Kansas City. I feel just like when I was a kid driving the little model T truck at the amusement park. I don't know why? I just do.

There's a Love's about 60 miles west of ST Louie. I made it there once from Denver. 770 miles in 11 hours.

Back to golf. Try practicing real slow, methodical, concentrated. Hit each ball like everything counted on it. You can then speed up. Train your autonomic mind an nervous system to be consistent. .. On putting....gaining touch... Draw a circle the size of a cup on the floor of your garage. Stop the ball within the circle.

The other half of the story is most of my score this year for league were from a tee box father back.  So it ticked up naturally.  I was down to a 15-16 last year by end of year.  Hcp creeped up but I was playing a farther distance too.  Usually in the 40s so I’m doing alright for the most part.

My biggest problem is losing focus though.

I did sort out my setup and it’s just clicked now.

From what I saw on the News last night and this morning they got it pretty good. It just missed us but we still got a couple of inches. I know some of my peeps in Gaffney SC (just south of Charlotte) were really getting it last night or so they said on FB

Up this AM coffee already in the cup and first cup in my belly working on the 2nd one now. We are supposed to play the League Championship today. Have not gotten word on if we are playing or not. The guy who takes up money for events was at The Moose last night. He lives on the course and said it was flooded pretty good. He told me as of yesterday afternoon he already had a lot of withdrawals. No word yet from the league or the course's member text on if the course will open or not or if we are playing or not. I am going to ride over about 6:30 or so to see. I have got to believe if it is open it will be CPO. If so I will pull out myself. I can walk the little Par3 we play but that is altogether a different ball game for me walking our course CPO. I am not risking hurting myself or being in pain the next few days over a tournament

Good morning MGSpies from a dark downtown by the office building listening to Emancipator's Good Knight on Pandora and coffee good and hot.  Regular office today for the workday and out early to get to Erie PA for the evening HOPE session 6 of 6 for the Veterans graduating and representing the WNY PGA section with whomever else makes the journey to the real western end of the Section footprint. Weather forecast for another summer day is welcome indeed, and thoughts are with those traveling, with medical issues and living through life's challenges, we all will make it together.  Hope golf is part of your day
