Good morning all. Low key Sunday that’s finally in the 80’s like most of the other spies in the NE I would say we are pretty excited.

I have my sister in law in town so the babies will be getting together but good news is I talked my FIL into getting her husband and I out for a twilight 18 so I have that to look forward to all day.

I hope everyone has a nice long weekend.

Good morning Spies from what appears to be a picture-perfect day here. Sunny skies, and about 80 degrees F. Finished about 90% of what I wanted to accomplish around the house yesterday and will knock out the rest this morning before my 2:00PM tee time.

Figuring that the course will be filled, and play will be very slow, but that doesn't matter to me as I look at it as being able to spend leisurely time outdoors in nature, with company I like, playing a game that I love.

Have a great day no matter what you are doing and make it the best it possibly can be!

Good morning all on a beautiful Wisconsin morning. We are back home from my in-laws cabin, earlier than planned because our youngest picked up a nasty cold, sadly I think from when I was not feeling well last week. He didn’t sleep well when we were up there and we just decided he needed some good sleep and came home. Both boys were quite upset but sometimes you just have to make those decisions. I’m currently rocking him in the rocking chair and he’s already asleep. Normally he doesn’t nap until 12:30 so he’s very over tired. Not how we wanted the weekend to go but it was the right thing to do. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hope he feels better soon!

Good morning Spies,

It's a beautiful sunny day here. Already 72°.  Son and family coming over to enjoy some dinner on the grill, with cowboy beans, tater salad, peach cobbler, fruit salad, etc.

No golf in the forecast.  Hubby's ticker is still in rhythm so everything is terrific here.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Don't forget our fallen soldiers and those that served beside them!  They and their families need our prayers for peace this weekend.

Good Morning Folks

Golf is on at 2:20PM today, Heron Lakes playing Greenback for the first time.  Hoping to get some extra time at the range work on the driver wows. If it isn't where I like it, I have my 3 hybrid, 4 wood, or 4 iron that will keep me in play.

Cleaning out my bag this morning in getting ready for not only today but for 4 round trip starting Wednesday.

Have a great day

Good morning, MGS. No golf today I am attending the birthday party of a 1 year old. I may hit the range and work with Driver if time allows afterwards. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

AH yes, I didn't sign up with them this year. none of their dates worked for me.  I played 9 there Friday. The front is in pretty good shape. Although I don't think raking bunkers is a thing out there.

Have fun

Ugh, my new pet peeve this year as I am seemingly finding more bunkers. Seriously, how difficult is it to rake a bunker? Especially when the rake is right next to the footprints where you entered the bunker. 🤬

Memorial Day in the US is Monday.  Please remember to be careful how you interact with Veterans and families of Veterans on this weekend and whenever the focus is on the Nation's Fallen and their families.  Any reference to a Gold Star family is national recognition of a family who lost one of their own in military service.

Memorial Day is to remember the service of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms of all Americans.  For those of us who have combat experience it is a day we remember those we served with who did not come home to family alive.

I had a well meaning acquaintance say "Congratulations!" at a Memorial Day parade as we were gathering to organize our Boy Scout Troop for marching.  It confused me and caused internal anger because it was the wrong thing to say. I had been a senior staff officer in a task force headquarters during the Iraq war and in the 5 months in that position took every opportunity to serve on Ramp Detail.

Ramp Detail happens between midnight and 3 AM on the airfield apron.  Participants are all volunteers to pay Honors and Respects as casket draped with flag is moved to an aircraft and carried inside to begin the final trip home for the fallen in the casket.  Participants then go into the aircraft and assemble around the casket along with the air crew and a Chaplain says a brief prayer service.  The moment it is complete, the airplane engines start, everyone not leaving departs the rear drop ramp, a pallet of gear is loaded and secured to the ramp as it lifts, and the aircraft buttons up as it turns onto the runway and is airborne before participants have time to walk off the apron back to duty.

I served on Ramp Detail for 20 of our fallen Task Force warriors.  The stories for a few I heard, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time tragedies.  There is no happy for me on a Memorial Day but there is peace.

The best wish for anyone in service on Memorial Day weekend and Memorial Day itself is, "Have a peaceful Memorial Day."

The friend's good intentions essentially congratulated me for living.  Those of us who come back when others didn't have some form of survivor guilt and Memorial Day is not for us, our day of recognition for our service is Veterans Day in November.

This is also a splendid thing to say Barb,

To serve is an honor and privilege.  God bless all our Veteran warriors past, present and future, God bless all of the fallen military people who sacrificed themselves from every nation for all time, and God bless America 🇺🇸

Said beautifully and with grace. Good bless and have a Peaceful Memorial Day.

@EasyPutter Thank you for this message and your thoughts on this. Also, thank you for your service and volunteering to serve Ramp Detail. I am a Gold Star brother. My brother, LCpl James W. Higgins Jr. was killed in action in AL Anbar Province, Iraq on 27 July 2006. As a Gold Star brother, I truly appreciate you and your dedication to honor our fallen heroes. That dedication is one few would truly understand. To know our loved ones were honored and cared for by those who respected their sacrifice. Thank you.

Memorial day brings mixed feelings for me. It's one that many Americans truly do not understand. They mix up who they're supposed to honor. At the same time, I do not like the post and message, "... and you thought this weekend was about BBQs and cookouts." I believe we shouldn't condem people for enjoying the weekend. They gave their lives to help preserve the American way of life and so that we all can enjoy life in peace. However, as you very clearly stated, many Americans lack and understanding or consideration for what this weekend means to Gold star and our Veterans. I would almost argue, this weekend is harder for Veterans who lost their brothers in arms than Gold Star families. In many ways, the guys who served with my brother were closer to him than I was. It truly is "brothers in arms." I've had many conversations with them over the years. It doesn't lower my relationship with my brother, it's just a different kind of brotherhood and where I lost 1 brother, during the deployment my brother was killed, they lost 11.

Much of my life in the past 17 years has been dedicated or impacted by serving my brother's memory. My username, FallenSaber is in his honor. His units callsign in Iraq was Saber. I use it for almost everything. I've worn his dog tag which was struck by the bullet for the past 16.5 years, a memorial bracelet and a tattoo on my left arm. I run the San Diego Rock-n-Roll Marathon and half marathon carrying the flag in his memory. I also have been running races this year in honor of the 10 others who gave their lives during his deployment.  It's a hard burden to carry, being a Gold Star brother but one where I'm proud to carry on his memory.

Thank you again for your message and your service.

So Ok its 9.55pm here in the UK but it's morning in Australia so I can post! I've not been on the forum in two weeks due to visiting New York City and having such a good time. Went to Coney Island on Thursday to ride the Cyclone only to find Luna Park closed until tomorrow! 🤬

Still, means I have to come back next year 😀

A major practice session is required tomorrow, particularly the short game, ready to play Tuesday and Saturday for certain and maybe Thursday as well. Lots of tournaments coming up between now and the end of September and I'm feeling good about my game.

Interesting - me?

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a good start to your Sunday. Not much happening here at the moment, just keeping the animals company and drinking coffee.

@BIG STU I can relate to having a dog that loves potatoes, both of mine do and especially the pug. If anyone here were to meet me, there would be a good chance you'd hear me call them pugtatoes. We love pug puns.

Today is going to be grocery shopping and working on moving the bedrooms. I've got to move some clothes from upstairs to the room downstairs. Still got to get a few more things ready before moving the beds. I'm not looking forward to getting the king size mattress down the stairs, getting it up was a pain. At least gravity will be on our side.

I hope y'all have a great day.

LOL on the Pugtatoes. Most Frenchie owners and breeders refer to Frenchies as Potatoes anyhow. Mine is colored the same as a Pug. In fact most folks not knowing specific differences in the breeds think he is a Pug. Officially in the Frenchie world and AKC he is Fawn colored

Our traps are so inconsistent and rakes are sparse besides no one rakes anyhow IF they can find a rake. Our league play we can move the ball in a trap one club length and you can rake and place the ball. Now you can not build a tee in the trap. In fact one of our members has been called on that several times along with other stuff and was suspended for 2 weeks after our last tournament
