AMEN. One heavy snow a year is good enough for me. We had a small accumulation today and there's supposed to be more this weekend and then lows in the negatives... not looking forward to it.

Only had about 5” or so in Omaha but the wet snow yesterday led to a difficult icy layer under the snow making for an extra challenge while shoveling. The negative temps on the way for the next five days don’t look like much fun either.

One of my cousins was a NY City cop and just got his official retirement (after 20) this past Dec. He says the same thing = wouldn't go back in now, not in the city...

Not going to say good morning yet because it's just after 1am so a tale of what's preceded my post in the morning. WNY weather wasn't too bad yesterday with a wintery mix well above freezing and on my drive home from work downtown was mostly rain and windy. Gusting winds had shredded the tarp on the sailboat in my backyard.  Spent the remaining daylight hours clearing lines and stripping the useless remains and bagging the refuse that became stuffing to bolster another tarp covering the patio furniture by acting like beanbags underneath to stop it flapping near the corners. Caught a break as the entire tarp removal was between rains that had been continuous all day and resumed just after the power went out at 8:10pm. With dinner ended an hour earlier the best thing I did do was have an early to bed evening. Power restored about an hour ago, more later after another visit with my pillow.

Adventure day for the Danbrook household. Off to the mountains today for a bit of a day off and sightseeing.

Now if only the kids would get up so we could hit the road!

Good morning and a happy Wednesday to you spies. Finally got some sleep last night. Still woke up for a minute or two every couple of hours but I feel more rested than I have over the last few days. Sleep may just be my new hobby.

No solid plans for the day other than work. Yesterday’s work day went by quick, hopefully today is similar.

Weather went from 75° to 50° here and much wind so it’s a wet cool morning but golfing we must go ! Tee time at 7:52 so it’s time get ready ! Be safe and careful , blessed and grateful!

Good morning Spies on a cold and windy Wednesday morning. Steady temps. about 30 today but wind howling about 20 mph with gusts much higher.

Just hoping to make it through another workday without any issues, and hoping all those who are supposed to be in, actually show up.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, no matter what may be in your plans, and that those who may have some golf related activities planned, may the enjoyment factor be high.

Good morning MGSpies from a changing weather from windy not so cold to heavy rain then snow today WNY.  The beginning of the story after work yesterday is up the string thataway  with this waiting for me when I arrived home.

so lines all pulled off and coiled, tarp seams cut to release what was left and everything bagged for eventual disposal, the sailboat is temporarily without it's hat.

hope there isn't too much snow load with today's forecast when it gets here, and it will, but it will not shed itself off a peaked tarp this time.  Working a zero commute day, will be able to keep an eye on it working from the basement, and see if a heavy 24'x16' tarp can be located.  I know some of you have it much worse so sending best thoughts for everyone dealing with weather related and other concerns.

Would rather be playing golf, hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning everyone!

I hate hearing about all the weather related problems this morning and I hope that your hitting bay is still standing solid Mark and Derek I hate hearing of all the troubles the wind caused you and your sailboat. 

It's going to be a cool and windy day here with the high reaching 44. Not much on my agenda today as the wife and I both got our shots yesterday and right now my left arm is sore. I'm on the last two days off shutdown and I'm not looking forward to the sleep deprivation I'll need to be able to wake up early Friday.

Had some big storms come through here yesterday. Flooding and wind damage. Looks like it is gone today. Let the clean up begin.

The morning cup of coffee isn’t hitting the same today. My wife and I had to say goodbye to our gentlest soul, Riley, yesterday. The seizures took their toll and he was really struggling. He passed very peacefully in our home. The veterinarian who came to our house was incredibly incredibly compassionate. Please give you pets extra love today. We were truly blessed to have Riley in our lives for 14 1/2 years.

Won't post the tornado damage to our area, as Noone wants to sit here and cringe. But one town close by will have to be leveled and rebuilt.  We now have 2 LofL reports from the storms though.  

On duty next 2 days, and have hopes for a decent recovery effort pushing through.  Several areas without power and water.

For those facing weather turmoil, I pray for the best outcome that can be had.

Morning!

Wow those tornado-like gusts blasted our area last night .. the house was a shaking and a rocking (and it wasn't any hanky panky going on ). Just cleaned up out front and gotta say I got off easy - only one big branch plus some smaller ones on the ground.

So taking a break and reading some forum stuff before it's off to chiro. Back has generally been doing a lot better, although yesterday I did I dunno what to the lower back...

There's always gotta be something, right?

Well hope everyone else is doing well enough today .. work, play, whatever enjoy the day!!

I just can’t believe the high winds and storms that are hitting ALL over the country. We were fortunate here as the highest winds seemed to occur all around us.

Good morning all. After reading this morning greetings I guess I cannot complain about cold bright sunny days. Frost delays will kill this mornings rounds. This afternoon the Wild Bunch is playing a goofy 3 club and a putter match. These are always fun and usually quite enlightening as participants figure out what clubs are basically useless in their bags.

The par 3s will be the challenge for me today as they usually lay in the 170 - 200 yard range. 

My choice today will be driver, 7 iron, sand wedge, and putter.  Or I may use my 2 hybrid as my long club. Depends on how I am hitting on the range and on whether or not I can safely leave my ego on the workbench in the garage along with my shoes...

I hope everyone is ok from yesterdays/last nights weather. We got some snow here, but it'll likely be gone this afternoon as we generally don't get snow here. Our issue is usually ice. Luckily my generator hasn't kicked on, so our power is good for now.

I'll consider myself lucky seeing all of the posts and hearing about what's happening around the country.

I hit a ball and there was quite a splash.... guessing about 2-3 feet in parts.
kid next door is desperate for it to freeze over since he's a peewee hockey player.
