Played well after the county tournament coming in 2nd place. Letting a golden chance go swimming on #17 sealed my fate for the tournament but overall Happy with the game. Ended up playing today, meeting up with a few family members in Ohio.  

Chapel Hill is an excellent bargain in Mount Vernon, Ohio. 

For $67.00 you get Unlimited golf, a voucher card for 6 drinks(includes beer) 3 Sandwiches from the menu and 3 snacks of your choice

Course was very nice, need people to fix ball marks on the greens, they made it tuff to get a good roll.

Staff was nice, couldn't beat what you got for the price.

Jekyll and Hyde round: 51(+15) & 39(+5) for 90(+20).

Hit every possible OB on the front-9, including a quadruple bogey on the par 3 second hole and a few 3-putts to add to the pain. I was +14 after 6 holes...

Turned it around on the 7th hole. Shot +6 on the next 12 holes. Had 5 birdies putss of less than 6-7' but missed 4 of those though. One of those chances was a downhill 6-fotter on a par 3 with an absolutely brutal green. I barely touched the ball and it rolled out of the green all the way down the fairway. Came back up with a LW + 2 putts for a double bogey following a 6' birdie chances... Ouch.

7/14 fw, 6/18 gir was off the fw more than I'm accustomed, but had a plus day for distance, leaving me inside 100y from the rough a lot. 33 putts was aided by 0 putts on #6 (holed out a SW from 20y) but I 3-putted 2 out of 3 of the par 5s both times turning birdie chances into bogeys.

44-39 for +12 83 is my 2nd best score at this course. A stretch from hole 10-14 I played at +1 felt like I was in total control.

As an experiment, moved one tee block back to 6,400 + yards to give my long irons a test. First nine holes, drove well and was one over at the turn largely due to short game and one putts bailing me out. Back nine, driver said sayonara and it became a bogey fest. All in all, a very respectable 7 over despite scrambling all the way.

Havent posted a score in a while because I simply havent been on the course to play in a while. Should get a round in tomorrow morning if the weather holds. Feel like it could be a disaster, but at least it is a warm up round for the Match Play!

I made a decision. For the entire season, I have played really well once a week and absolutely sucked the rest to the week. I decided that while I love lost my rounds here, I will only post “MEANINGFUL ROUNDS”. 

You see, I can go out and shoot in the low 70’s when I’m not playing in a tournament or have any money on the line. When I’m in a “meaningful round” I’ve been shooting in the high 80’s. This has been so frustrating. I can shoot a great round and then play 4 horrible rounds and still my handicap goes up. 

I played in a tournament Saturday and Sunday and shot 88 and 89. Then I had some time yesterday and so I went out and shot a 74. I didn’t post it here, because there were no repercussions for a bad shot so I was more relaxed and simply played more freely. 

So today, I kept that in mind while playing my Wednesday afternoon round. It worked. I shot a 79 net 67 and won $120. There were 15 of us today, and I had the low net score.

Also, I bought a new driver Thursday. I traded a Stealth Plus add G425 LST and a bit of cash for the G430 LST.  I won some money Friday and enough today to pay for my driver upgrade

Got my warm up round in!

Almost got rained out but birdie on the first hole followed by an okay bogey and then s nasty triple. Was feeling like I wanted to pack it on truthfully. Haven't played in 2 weeks and it was an awkward start. After the third hole decided driver needed to stay in the bag. 

Hole 4 made an alright bogey, missing s makeable par putt. Hole 5 was okay, but left myself a very long putt and 3 putted. 

However 6, 7 up and down for par. 8 great straightforward par, 9 the same, 10 nearly chipped in for par. 11 simple par, 12 lipped out chip for birdie. Unfortunately followed by bogey on 13,14,15,16,17 brought me back down to earth and a nice par to finish off.

Man I am streaky at golf.

Awesome job using the VCT Thread to post your Match Play Scores.  I also see that you included a picture of your scorecard in your post... and selected the field in the template so we can grab your score!!

One Problem however.....

The Match Play doesn't actually start until tomorrow (I know this is confusing since the VCT Thread runs from Monday... sorry about that).  So... I hope you both have more rounds planned starting tomorrow and through the next week to use.  I am going to edit your posts above to remove the Match Play indicator... so it won't create confusion. 

Looking forward to seeing your post Sept 1 scores in the VCT and Match Play!!

Love seeing everyone scores! I play every weekend,  but the others in my group like to play a scramble.  Its hard to say no when paying for the rounds are not coming out of my pocket! Was 3-0 now 3-2 time to get back to work!

Not too much to say about this round. My irons and wedges feel really good right now but I’m suddenly struggling with the driver. I definitely need to get that sorted out this week with match play coming up. Shooting a round in the 70s while not hitting fairways isn’t too sustainable for me!

I used to really like this course, but it was in terrible condition today.

The first nine (started on 10) I scored better than I struck it, the second nine was the reverse. This course is always windy, but it's the first time I have played with it from the north. I have to remember to change balls for this amount of wind in the future. I really like the Maxfli Tour X, but the Bridgestone Tour BX is a better wind ball.

I'm not impressed with the Stealth, like the Sim2 Max better, but you got rewarded for playing well and got a new driver! AWESOME. good round!

I meant to include this. I would love to credit the new driver, but did have a penalty. Or the LAB putter, but had 2 three putts and actually missed 5 makable putts. It was probably my aggressive 58° wedge play where I pitched it in from 40 yards once and chipped in twice from off the green. 

My 3 putts were inside 3 feet where I just swatted at it and missed. Stupidity.

Just my second round back after taking 2 months off while traveling with the family. Personal best score ever at Torrey from the green tees!  I guess taking some time away helps you shake some bad habits.

Had a pretty rough start…6 over after 4 holes, but then things started to click. Should have been even better, but I rushed a couple of short putts on the back nine while trying to not to stand in my partners lines resulting in maddening 3 putts. Need to have the patience to mark my putts in these instances. 

Course was in great shape. This was the last day before they start the fall maintenance on the North course.  It’s a pity to see the greens punched and sanded now, but the course will be better for it in the long run.

Good round after practice, hit the ball well and hit a couple of okay length putts. The greens are fast in anticipation of the club championship tomorrow, so I did have 2 3 putts that really hurt. But other than that, lots of fairways and GIRs for me today.
