Got out today for a few swings. Wanted to see how light affected readings. I didn’t have anything missed which is good. Sunlight was just enough I think. I will be out there one of these days and get it to not pick up a reading and get a picture of lighting. But no issues today!

I am Definitly missing out on a lot just using the iPhone instead of a tablet or iPad or laptop

It’s funny cuz I thought there was a ton of data on my phone but once it’s on the iPad and all in 1 screen it gets more noticeable.

One thing I noticed with the face impact, heat map, and data is the heat map doesn’t show you where you hit it the most but where you get the best ball speeds. Or maybe that’s just a coincidence 🤷🏻‍♂️ More testing to be done

The iPad makes a huge difference. I set it on the ground next to me when I'm at the range and you can see everything right there for each shot.

I’m gonna connect mine to my tv for now so I can see the ball flight and numbers easier.  I put the permanent home sim build on hold until fall as we have a bunch of mini vacations planned with some weddings and what not coming up this summer.

Got a round in today with my neighbor. I said it in my review and I’ll say it again, it’s crucial to set up the MEVO+ correctly.

We were both getting very odd pulls almost banana slices on a lot of shots which is not typical for either of us. Even on wedge shots we were getting just odd flights. Was odd because we were hitting well initially.

Come to find out the wind blew the tent cover a little and ended up pushing my MEVO a little crooked, just a little cock eyed. We played several holes wondering what was going on.

anyway! Plan this week is to try to use an iPad from someone and get a calibration and some heat signatures going. I won’t have the ability to purchase one before the review is up but need to give it the old whirl for the review!

You def need to spend the couple minutes making sure it's set up and aligned.

Yeah the setup is crucial. I actually put a black marker dot on my mat to represent the hitting spot. I still struggle with alignment with just a white screen but it’s definitely better now.

I got in another session with the Mevo today since it was 60+ degrees and sunny.

I warmed up before leaving the house and started out hitting partial wedges to get myself in the zone of hitting shots. I'm working on keeping the clubhead outside of my hands on the backswing and felt like I did a pretty good job of accomplishing what I wanted with them.

Screenshot_20240225_191000_FSGolf.jpg.21e5264186367442d1fca969f92bcf64.jpgScreenshot_20240225_191010_FSGolf.jpg.ad62cb29998d1bd35ccf8ee1907bef8e.jpg

PW was ok, I'm still working on better contact and was still catching them a little fat. Same results for the 9 iron, it was ok and not great.

I hit 7 iron next and that's where the problems started. I hit multiple shanks. I did notice the Mevo gave me some misreads most noticably on height and distance.

Screenshot_20240225_185933_FSGolf.jpg.41f119682ccba271e43a66143b325aa6.jpg

I didn't some time working on ball position with my fairway woods and hit one absolute bomb (for me) with it. I watched it fly and thought "I would like to do this every time".

Screenshot_20240225_182155_FSGolf.jpg.c1c943d2427b9f993c2038c2564efee4.jpg

I pulled out driver next and decided to sacrifice a couple of the metallic stickers to see if I could get a better spin reading. It was still a bit high but I also noticed that I was hitting the Bir-Tee on to the range and I believe that could be a sign of a negative AOA which can spin up the ball. I also had a couple of tops which didn't register right with the unit. I don't think two of my shots got six feet in the air. I'm posting then to show you how they registered, but did remove them in the total distance screen.

I ended the day by hitting a couple of shanks with the 8 iron and then I hit one purposely way off the toe.

Are you getting that spin fairly constant with your driver??? And is the launch angle consistent around 18°??

Did the dots make a difference outdoors?  You mentioned sacrificing a couple so I assume you were on a range and not hitting into a net. Flightscope says the dots are not required outdoors only for limited flight setups

I was seeing a bit more consistency with spin, all the shots were registering in the 4000's, which is high but at least I wasn't seeing 2-3000 difference between shots.

Is there a way to mount the MEVO or MEVO+ to the floor or wall so that way it's always in the same spot whenever you set it up?

They make a stand for the Mevo+ but everything I have seen and watched has always said to mark out the exact location with tape.

I have my backyard set up marked so I know what location to put it in for the correct distance.  I'm going to purchase the stand that has a protective shield on it.

I think tape is a great idea if you have a permanent setup. Otherwise, at least for the regular Mevo, I think one of the main benefits is how portable and easy to setup it is. Bringing to the range or on the course, it doesn't take much to set it up correctly for accurate info.

I've even used my alignment sticks to accurately measure the distance for setup as they're both exactly 4' long. Instead of bringing a measuring tape in your bag, I just measure 1.5 alignment sticks, place the Mevo accordingly and you're good to go.

Well I had lots of Mevo time planned but ran into a couple snags. First I couldn’t get the iPad to download the hdmi accessory so I couldn’t see anything on my tv. So I finally gave up on that and then wouldn’t you know the mevo died. lol. I did get in a good chunk of swings though. Played with the radar settings, environment settings, and calibration settings of the face impact and managed to get some closer to normal numbers for me. Even managed to see my normal flight a few times I was able to really concentrate on my swing mechanics. Here is a few screen shots.

What do you mean download the HDMI accessory? I just hook the adapter up to mine and it goes straight to the 4K TV no problem. HOWEVER, I am having difficulty sending the signal to my projector, so I'd like to know more about what you are referring to in case I need that.

With a permanent setup I defintiely will be doing that. I will have a designated frame to put it in. Right now I do not have that luxury but I have a general template of where it goes. I do not have a level spot where I am hitting so I have had to rig it a little bit, it works great but it definitely takes a little time.

There's also some that come with a laser pointer built into the stand so you can line it up exactly when indoors.

So what's everyone's favorite screens/data points to look at when using the MEVO or MEVO+?

From an outsider's perspective, I love seeing you guys post the dispersion/flight maps that have the tracer look to them.

I really like having the club path and AOA. For my goals and improving my swing, having this data has been awesome!  It gives me focus points to work on.

This may be a boring answer, but I personally prefer looking at the Dashboard view on the Mevo. It's a clear and concise way to get all the data points I'm looking for. I'm sure for the Mevo+ testers, the dispersion, face impact and AOA views are potentially more interesting.

My second favorite is probably the side view so I can visualize flight patterns (especially with the driver).

I've recently joined a trackman simulator club here in Atlanta, but previously had access to my buddies mevo. Have any reviewers compared Trackman stats vs Mevo stats and the disparities between the two?

I actually did a pretty in-depth comparison between the two earlier in this thread. I've linked it here for your review. Hope it helps!

Very nice!  Having seen that you have used other LMs, would you say this one has been the best cost/feature benefits?

(This question goes for all testers too)

Had a really positive session today. I went down the bag from PW-4 iron. Some of my best consistent swings this off season. Had a stretch on my 4-6 of Mishits but was not awful. Don’t look at driver, I’m still not comfortable in the tent with it and it shows.

IMG_3749.png

i added two snips of my 7 iron face impact. That was back to back and I had 6 in a row like this which is very good for me. The other clubs had very similar contact patterns, so pumped.
IMG_3747.pngIMG_3748.png

I need to I’ll all the other additional data into a spread sheet because I don’t digest it well here, really not sure what I’m looking at. I just know I made good swings, had good contact and the flight as what I would expect out of that club.

Is there an expert to spreadsheet option somewhere?

I got out for a bit and used the Mevo+ but after a few nights of little sleep, results were subpar. Decided to pack it in and take a rest day.

The info you can gather with face impact and path are great.

Wasn’t able to get any Mevo Plus time in this week after get hit with the trifecta. Sinus infection, upper respiratory, and strep throat on Wednesday.  Hoping to get a full weekend in next week and maybe even some outside time as the weather has turned really nice for us.
