Tension spring on my garage broke last night. I thought someone ran into our house. The whole place shook! Bad thing, my car is stuck in the garage and I can't lift up the door by myself. I'm on an island until the repairman gets here!

Oh man, that's horrible.   Wonder if the boss buys that excuse..."I can't get out of my garage"  Ha

 

it actually happened to me many years ago when I lived in a high-rise condo building and we had a garage door that was automated.  One morning it wouldn't open when everyone was leaving, there was a line of like 30 some cars waiting to get out..LOL

hahaha  In Spokane this winter, the city snowplow plowed the street in front of a popular restaurant blocking in the cars of the people inside.  They couldn't get to work.  The restaurant manager called 911 and the operator said that 911 was only for emergencies.  He explained that it was an emergency; he had customers that needed to get to work.

Got home from work tonight to find out four kids on my son's football team decided to play elsewhere this year leaving them short of the 16 kids they need to field a team. Four years ago the league had A and B teams at all the levels (9 teams in total) and this year they have two. He is devastated but the silver lining is he is going to play fall PGA Jr. League golf instead.

A different twist on this - why do some companies have different screen menus for different devices, I.e. Netflix menu is slightly different on my tv then my computer or iPad.

Could be but he wanted to play one last season with the kids he had been playing with since he was 5 years old.  Now the league is dragging its feet in getting the kids that want to play for other teams their release forms.  These people need to understand that it is not a D1 program and these are 11 year old kids.  Had a good talk with my son last night and he is a wise boy for 11 years old.  He likes golf a lot more than football and plans to play that competitively in middle school and high school so he is generally fine with it.  I am a little annoyed with how this all went down, but not a hill to die on.

I will be running by Lowe's in a bit to pick up seal for one of my my Kohler toilets. The thing inadvertently runs which is aggravating. Should be a simple fix

It was supposed to be 106* today, but with all the wildfires in the area the sun is blocked out and it only got up to 101*.  My rant is that it's 5pm, no clouds, I can look directly at the sun without burning my eyes, and I need to have my headlights on because of all the smoke.  My eyes are burning.  Tomorrow my wife and I are playing in a charity scramble in this smoke!!  Ugh!  There is a health hazard advisory until next Wednesday!

Not sure if someone has ranted about this before and it's not a huge deal, but I work in a pro shop at a local course and unfortunately we don't have a online booking system so all tee times have to be called in. I spend a lot of time on the phone!

Anyway here is an example that drives me when ppl call.

Me: good morning .... what time roughly were you looking golfing?

Customer: right around 10am?

Me: I have 9:58!

Customer: oh...that's too early do you have anything later?

Then they end up going at around 10:30.

It happens so often and I know it's small, but when we have the phone ringing as often as we do for bookings it's such a waste of time! And for me I don't care when they go out in just happy they are out on the course! So give me as close to the exact time and I'll do everything I can to accommodate that. But really it's 2 minutes!

With you Dan. I used to book appointments for a baseball training facility and I'd get these calls

 

Customer: What time do you guys open? I'll be there first thing

Me: 8am

Customer: Oooo that's too early, how about 1030?

Me: OK booked

 

 

Then they don't show up till 12 and wonder where their space went.

You fellas with the flapper valve problem in your dunny. If the chain that lifts it keeps getting caught on itself and leaves it open (like mine was doing) replace the chain with some Spiderwire fishing line...no more problems.
