Something going on with my left foot.  I think it is plantar fasciitis…. Had it for. Well. Year now, doc said it would go away.  Just was working in the yard, pulled it weird, now my foot feels like I just stepped on a bed of nails/glass/hot coals all at once.

Had it for 50 years.  I have orthotics inserts made for my shoes.  Works great.

Arch?  Mine is at the back more on the side by the heel.  My doc literally YouTubed it… 😳 last time I was in there… so I felt really confident with his diagnosis… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Should have XRays to confirm and a Podiatrist to get you on right track.

Maybe he will use Twitter this time.

All I can think right now is "I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night".

You'll know to bolt out of his office if he starts looking on Facebook.

I draw the line at Twitter.  Facebook… I might give him a bad review on Yelp.

Nothing like clicking the save button on an assignment, only to be greeted with a bunch of computer mumbo jumbo saying that the file does not exist… uh, excuse me.  What the heck have I been saving for the last few weeks then?!?!

I'm kind of stressed out right now. My mother-in-law, who has numerous health problems (heart, RA, arthritis, etc...) has been needing care from my wife and sister-in-law the last couple of nights, is having to go to the hospital. We're suspecting her kidneys are shutting down and had to make the hard decision to send her in the midst of a major Covid spike in the area. It's kind of a danged if you do, danged if you don't situation. We just can't provide her the professional help she needs at home. My wife is freaking out right now.

Yea man the choices are tough out there. Seems like things are spiking everywhere.

is it a situation where needs to be hospital or could there be some in home care? Don’t need to answer just More curiosity from what I’ve seen there are some really good in home care options out there.

Real sorry and hope things turn around for the family.

I know it’s tough.  A friend of ours is a nurse at a hospital.  That one in particular does their very best to keep covid patients away from people in your situation.  Separate wings.

Hope and praying that everything works out for the best. 👍🏼

At home care is definitely something we might have to look into, we'd have to dive deep into her insurance and see if any of it's covered. She's disabled and on Medicare/Medicade and I honestly know nothing about it.

@Shankster @Chip Strokes, guys thank you for the well wishes. I'll always be the best support buddy for the wife. She's my everything.

If she has Medicare/Medicaid there should be home care options available.  Check them out.

Sorry to hear this,  I know it is a stressful situation for everyone involved.   My advice is ask questions,  there are people in the hospital that understand these benefits and can help you navigate through all the things necessary.

That is tough, I do hope that everything turns out well with your family and her.

I know Medicare/Medicaid offers home care coverage, my late father in law was able to get some home care nursing in his later years, I unfortunately do not know the extend of the coverage and what it took to get it set up. But I am sure that most hospitals have social workers that can help with setting that up.

Got the text this morning as I’m getting ready to leave for Ohio that my sister probably only has a few days. I knew it was coming but it is coming quicker than I expected but as things are progressing I’m glad I was pretty much on my way to see her and say my goodbyes. Only a few hours away and I’m sure it’s going to be an emotional weekend and I’m not an emotional guy especially since I see this often with my job, but it’s always different with family!

I hope that you and your family can find some comfort with being able to see her and spend some time together, saying the last goodbye is the hardest thing we can do with our loved ones.

It has been 36 years since my dad passed of a hearth attack, I was only 4 when it happened, I do remember some things from that day.

Dad came home for lunch, back on the 80s, things were slow enough that this was a thing, he ate, played with my brother and I for a little bit, than went to take a power nap before going back to work, the next thing I can remember is my mom screaming for help as my dad was not waking up, she told me to go get the neighbors, we lived on the country back than and did not have a telephone at our house back then, the neighbors were a doctor and his wife a nurse, I remember riding my tiny red bike the half a mile to their house, as fast as I could, she did call an ambulance and came over to help.

By the time the ambulance arrived and they were trying to take my dad to the hospital, my dad passed, they said the the heart attack was so massive that the odds of him surviving were very low, his side of the family have always had issues with heart disease, only 1 uncle and aunt from my dad's side of the family, 12 siblings, still alive, the other 10 including my dad passed of heart attacks, before their 40th birthdays. my dad was in his early 30s.

I don't remember crying back then, but every so often I remember that I am older now that he was back then and that I have seen my son grow up, and despite getting sad, I am very grateful to the few years and memories I still have of my dad.

Trust me I am doing everything I can to be around for another 60+ years, that would put me at 100+, my oldest aunt on my mom's side just turn 72, so I want to go for longer than that, and I know how much I missed not having him around to see each milestone that I have accomplished.

Thanks I balled like a baby this weekend when I went and said my goodbyes to her. I deal with death all the time at work and it never phases me but this one hurts deep. She is still holding on but it won’t be much longer.

I’m really starting to dislike this house of mine! It’s an absolute down pour here when I got home for 2-3 hours. I notice my dog is wet and don’t know why so I go to the kitchen to see if she somehow knocked over the bucket of water. My floor was covered in water and I look up to see water coming from around an outlet in my kitchen. Oh JOY!!!! Called my insurance company to file a claim this is going to be fun, the kitchen was the last thing I wanted to remodel in this house. I also noticed water coming from my front window opposite side of my kitchen too WTF!!!

Update on the mother-in-law:

She's doing better, there were a couple of days where she was disoriented and confused, but my wife was able to talk to her today. She's still in the hospital, the doctors had to do surgery and remove an infected toe, as this might be what caused the trip to the hospital. The nurse told us today it might be either a blood or bone infection. We're just waiting to get the results back.  Her blood pressure is a bit low, I don't think they said what exactly it was, just low. They're working to get it back up a little bit. We're still not sure when she'll get to come home, but my wife is looking into home care once she does.

They're not allowing visitors due to the spike in Covid here in TN, which has made for some pretty stressful times here in the Chunks household.

Thankfully they were able to identify things quickly and get her stable. Hopefully she'll feel better and with home care, things will go on the upswing. I totally get the stress of not being able to visit with Covid, fingers crossed she's home soon and feeling better.

Once the antibiotics start to work I’ll bet her blood pressure comes up. Sepsis causes low blood pressure many times so it will take time but they figured out the cause and it will improve.

Hope she gets out of the hospital sooner than later on the mend.  Can’t imagine it is easy to have a loved one in the hospital during a pandemic. During non pandemic times it is stressful enough.

Nothing but good thoughts and prayers headed your way sir.
