Throwback for the millennials, I found an old 50 Cent mix this morning

I had been working with a guy 20-25 years younger than me, singing all day in the workshop, snippets of lyrics from my tween/teen years, like “I’m hot for teacher” and “Carry on my wayward son” and “Welcome to the Jungle.”

So bands like this has been running through my head …

Currently listening to Jordan Davis’s newly released album, Bluebird Days

This guy is not particularly my type of music ... most of the time. He is very talented, and I thought this was a great cover of a classic Pink Floyd song.

I LOVE smart lyrics.... "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way"... it doesn't get much better than that.

... Right there with you. Gawd I love interesting lyrics and could go on and on all day. I know these guys get a bad rap and justifiably so for their ballads and middle of the road hits like Heartache Tonight, The Long Run but these lyrics are just so thought provoking:

I do love the song, well anything Pink Floyd.

... Yup, I have some eclectic tastes in music but nothing like SB. I don't care for screaming type vocals or whamming, fast fingered guitars. I am much more in the TOOL category for hard rock that layers their music but never in the full Metal mode. I absolutely love well played guitar with soul like Dustin Johnson that I had never heard until seeing him here. I have also discovered a few others thanks to SB.

He has surprised me with many artists I never heard of that are really good and a few that scared me

... Waiting For Columbus is my favorite Live CD and I have this Japaneses Import. The jamming on this double CD is as good as it gets and one of my biggest regrets is never seeing them live. Hard to pick a favorite so I'll just go with the first song!
