Get the flu/sick this season?

Omg, I've been sick going on 3 weeks now, and I'm so tired of it.

Tried to play last week and struggled to my worst score in a long time.

I drove decently, but could not hit an iron/wedge to save my life.

I have a nagging cough and chest/sinus congestion that just won't go away...

YEP- been dealing with this since after thanksgiving.  Went to Dr- bronchitis - prescribed broad spectrum antibiotic, 5 days, and an inhaler- Still wheezing and occasional cough but not nearly as productive or deep as it was initially - I was actually cramping up I was coughing so much- now it is only a few hacks  / hour!

 

and has been making the rounds - several others are similarly infected...

And, OBTW, not the Flu, as I had my shot - and frankly, did not feel like a normal cold, as I had no fever and no aches or fuzzy head- just this stupid cough and a heavy nasal drip into my lungs...NASTY

My wife and I have four kids, and we are spending our days recycling the same cold/cough through our family.

Started catching it about 3 or 4 days before Christmas.

 

When I start to feel something that bad coming on I head to the gym in full sweat suit and bike or run for at least half an hour then find the hottest shower there and try and clear up my nose/chest as much as possible.

 

However it was strong enough to pass onto the SO, who passed it onto some of hers and my family

I'm on day 6. Muscle soreness, congestion and generally feel like the life has been sucked out of me.

Last year around this time I has the flu, and was down for 6 weeks. The worst part was, I lost all hearing in my right ear. Yep, I didn't know it was a possible side effect either, but apparently it is.

Be careful, get to the doctor early.

Got zapped this weekend after drinking too much at a neighbor's party. Woke up to the chills. Ended up taking some cold and flu medicine, napped the next day for 6 hours and was feeling OK Monday but still have some nasal drip. Hoping I don't get the flu (and no, I didn't get the flu shot this year).

I've been around a lot of sick people lately. So far I have been lucky; must be too ornery.  My wife taught high school 10 years ago and her kids were always sick.  She started taking Airborne, and that seems to work pretty well if you take it before getting sick.  Once you get sick, I don't think it helps much.  She's pouring it down me for the next couple of weeks hoping we don't get sick before we leave for Palm Springs.

I got a dose of whatever is going around last week. Started with an itchy throat, progressed to tight chest and coughing up God knows what. Dr prescribed a z pack and I'm feeling better after day 4.

The flu shot doesn't do anything anyway. I stopped getting it the year I got the flu shot AND the flu...

I heard this years flu shot was only effective 10% of the time...

I haven't been as sick since I stopped taking flu shots. I did have a bout @ Thanksgiving but self medicated & was over it in a week

But never the full blown flu..

Same here. Plus, flu shots contain animal dander and mercury. That just freaks me out.

What they don't tell you is that the flu shot is only 55% effective. Not sure if that's because of different strains of flu or the way body reacts. A sure bet for me is a case of the flu after I get a flu shot

My wife and I are big proponents of airborne - seems to have stayed off colds and flu.
