Smoking

Day 15 I think and all is well. Chewing nicotine gum like no tomorrow. I can tell the difference already as Im getting less winded and more money in my bank account. I was tested a few days ago as I found a smoke or two in the garage on my work bench. I was tempted but held tough. People who smoke just plain stink! ha ha...

Keep it going!! Everyday is one more closer to being rid of them!

Good for you. I remember when I quit I had a half pack and I pitched them. However, the worst part for me for several years was the craving for a cigarette that I normally had with coffee after dinner.

Hey man I'm late to this thread but I just wanted to say congratulations for making it this far and to keep up the hard work. I lost my step father to lung cancer at 6, he was 34 and had smoked since he was 15. The tragedy, and shock of seeing his lung with my own eyes, scared me away from smoking cigarettes, and fortunately it made my mom quit. You're doing yourself, and your loved ones a huge favor by quitting, nice job

You can do it!! I quit in 1985 so feel your pain. It's not easy but it's the best for you health wise.

Never smoked other than a very occasional cigar. I'm a big fan of anyone who quits cigarettes! Keep it up!

Day 6 of no smoking. Struggled with it off and on for years but pack a day for last 4 years since mom passed. Had a longish term relationshop go south and end 4 months ago and went to pack and a half. Put on 20 pounds the last 4 months, increased smoking, and Rockstars daily, I could really feel the change to my health...and not for the good! Three weeks in to no Rockstars , 6 days no smoking, and 10 or so days counting every calorie that goes in to me. Down 7 lbs in 10 days and hppe to have 30 off by June 1st. Easy to drop 20 in a month, but then it gets hard. I was spending at least 60 a month on Rockstars, at least 200 on smokes, 100 month on crap for food, and whatever I bought at the market along with my smokes and it was getting out of control. I can already feel the difference without the smokes. Get more sleep as I get up half hour later as I was smoking 2 or 3 with my morning coffee before I even hit the shower before work. I can see the difference in my heart rate as I wear a fitness watch. Playing Chambers Bay next month and Im not sure how that would go as a smoker. Been putting the hurt on the gum thats for sure. Heres to a healthier 2018!!

Awesome buddy! Stay with it and your health will get better and better!

I've saved $496.00 just on beer alone dice I stopped drinking 4 months ago. I didn't put in liquor shots into my cost calculator so there's no telling how much money I saved from that. The main thing is your body is going to wake up, thank you, and reward you for your life style change. Focus on your goal and stay the course!

Quitting smoking was the hardest thing that I've ever done.

I smoked a pack and a half of unfiltered Camels from the early sixties through the early ninetys.

I finally beat it using the "patch" which weaned me off nicotine.

My last cigarette was on March 5, 1994. On March 6, I quit.

Good luck, You can do it, and the ordeal is worth it.

Just watch your weight now, as your metabolism will slow down.

Thanks...still going strong with no smoking at all. So nice not to stink. Run to store for smokes, few more bucks in my pockets, and cardio is getting better.

I am about to kill the habit for good Myself. This thread is awesome. Who would have thought you'd find advice to quit smoking in the momma Golf Forum? My buddy and co-worker told me today if I quit, he would give me $300 towards anything “golf” I wanted. I'll be joining the club soon, I'll definitely chime in again
